Tables are cramped together and it’s loud; try to get a table by the window. Small cocktail list not many good options, burger is good gnocchi not very flavorful.

The food at Jane was wonderful, and the servers were friendly, polite and apologetic--but it took over an hour for our food to emerge from the kitchen, while diners on all sides of us were being served much more quickly. The hostess brought an extra bottle of wine as an apology, but the wait was annoying.

Very busy place. We were only a very few minutes early and had to wait quite a while for our table which was a problem because there is no place to wait and we were constantly having to move for the waiters. When we were seated, the waiter seemed like he was in a rush to take our order and then ignored us completely.

The food was good. The ambiance and service was not.

Perfect Brunch spot! The food was cozy and delicious. Different enough to choose Jane over another spot. Our waiter was a bit Untrained but pleasant enough.

Jane's is a great cozy small restaurant known for their gnocchi, but love everything. The service is also excellent as are the cocktails.

Perfectly fine, but certainly nothing more. $26 or so for four scallops in an undistinguishable pureé. Ordered roasted brussels sprouts; they were roasted to the point of being ver, very burnt.
Decaf coffee was weak and watery. Charming service people: this includes the woman who seated us, the woman who waited on us, and the man who replaced her when she announced that she was going off duty and Ahmed (?) would be our waiter for the remainder of the meal. I don't think that it is "that charming little place in The Village" that it wants to be.

Good service.. fairly good food... I felt the level of everything was check box expected... Nothing more or less... for this same level of expense, you can find more inspired plates and spaces nearby.

Came here for brunch with two friends on New Year's day. The place was packed! We were also late and had one extra person (my reservation was for two) but they were very accommodating. The drinks are great (bellinis!) and the food is perfect for brunch. Overall a great time.

We picked this restaurant for brunch because they were listed as gluten free. When I asked for a gluten free menu the waitress said she’d ask the chef. She then told us we should probably stick to a salad. That was pretty disappointing considering this is NYC, and most places offer something other than eggs and potatoes for gluten free offerings. My friend who is not gluten free enjoyed his meal quite a bit.

I got a tear in my eye the first time I had the French toast and have had it several times since. Alas the last two times the French toast was just okay, and the newbies I brought with me weren't impressed enough by their meals to match the hype I created. To top it off brunch no longer comes with a brunch drink (and reductions on other dishes) which drastically changes the value calculus for this meal in the wrong direction. I hope an in attempt to increase profit the quality of food doesn't drop anymore. Please get back to the days of tear-inducing gastronomical delight.

Although as always the service was great.

I hosted a Shabbat dinner at Jane Restaurant. The staff was very accommodating and they made sure we were able to light shabbat candles, provided wine for the blessing of the wine, and did not rush us with our prayers.

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Jane. We were recommended by two friends and it was worth going out of our way to eat there. Try the toasted ricotta gnocchi as an appetizer and be sure to have milk and cookies for dessert. Food was delicious, waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was fun with some groovy music playing in the background. I’ve heard the Sunday brunch is awesome!

A great place for brunch. Their eggs benedict are both good, we had the original and salmon. The chicken sausage is a bit salty for my taste. Too full to try any of their dessert. Service is good. Sitting is too tight and you can hear the conversation from the next table (as is any NY resto). Overall a good place for brunch and we will definitely be back.

Highly rated, although I suspect its because its a hot brunch spot. For dinner, they are a bit disorganized. 1) The place was pretty empty & we asked to be seated away from the door to which she brought us around multiple places & said "oops, not here". We finally got a spot in the middle but it was pretty odd. 2) Our server, while pleasant, spent a good bit of time socializing with the table behind us and a) didn't put in our drink orders until about 5 mins had passed and then said "the bar was busy" (which it wasn't). 3) the food was very good & the Steak Frites special and the Scallops were both very well prepared. Could be a good spot if the service was more consistent.

Excellent brunch. My wife and I spent a long weekend in the city and brunch here was by far our favorite meal of the trip. The steak frites are incredible and the benedicts are top notch. Will definitely look to come back next time we're in town.

This was my first time at Jane’s and I had the vanilla French toast which was made from Brioche bread. I absolutely loved it - they gave me extra maple syrup when I asked, and the portion was large, good for when you are hungry!
I think 20.50 USD for this dish is a little too expensive, but it is a prime area of manhattan and if you want slightly cheaper dishes you can always order eggs. Always make reservations - especially on Sunday - because there is a 1.5 hr wait if you don’t reserve in advance!

The food was amazing. We arrived early for our reservation but unfortunately they were so busy we didn't even have our table 40 minutes later so we decided to sit at the bar. It was actually a better choice, we were in the corner so no one had to get around us for the bathroom or to drop off plates so it was all good. And the bartender Alex was great; he was really knowledgeable about the cocktails and made excellent menu recommendations. The strip steak was insanely good and the parsnip and leek gratin is out of this world. I'd definitely go back; but I think I'd pick a less busy time if I needed a table. If it's just me I'd always hit up the bar seating!

We were a table of 8, that was originally 9. When we arrived, we were told that our table was given to a group of 7 by mistake. So they crammed us into the table they intended to put the group of 7 at. Needless to say it was not ideal. There were also 3 birthdays going on so the servers/staff ignored our table for quite some time. Food was great, service was lacking. I will note that they gave us free champagne and a free beer to make up for the service.

Food was good and they sat my friends and I at what felt like a private table. It was quite loud and crowded though at the front as a lot of groups were waiting to be seated so that was the only downer. Food was good but didn't think the drinks were. They have a great private room for parties though and I would come back maybe for dinner or lunch instead of weekend brunch.

Food was ok . Noise level high. Service just ok. Waiter dropped two orders of fries on my husbands jacket and the manager didn’t even send over a drink !! So many better places in the village for brunch for $250.00. Would not go back! Saw them trying to squeeze 6 people in a space for 3 people which they refused to sit at. Not four star food or service !!

Excellent food and service. Appetizers included meatballs and tuna tacos. The tacos were exceptional and spiced just right. My entree was the Flat Iron Steak which was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Waitress was informative and attentive.

I loved the appetizers we got - the tuna tacos, the sweet & sour cauliflower (sooo good) - and the entrees were good but some things (the burger, the meatballs) weren't quite as interesting as I would've wanted. Our waitress was so friendly, it's nice and dark on the inside, and it's in a good location. I'd go again for a weeknight dinner happily.
