Jams - NYC
Jams has a very zen, but trendy vibe. We ordered the cheeseburger, gnocchi, Thai shrimp salad and a poke bowl, along with the pear and grapefruit cocktail and everything was superb. The staff was also extremely friendly and professional. All around a great dining experience. I would recommend this for both casual and business meals.
Although the staff is surprisingly young and sometimes a bit inexperienced they make up for it with a great attitude and extra effort. The food is delicious - this is not your average hotel restaurant. The wine list has a good range of quality choices at fair prices. This is a great addition to the neighborhood - I'd happily recommend it to a local or visitor.
Had brunch. Amazing Bloody Mary. The chicken sandwich was fantastic. Great vibe!!!
Very limited menu, very overpriced, very forgettable food
The chicken was the bestI’ve ever had and I eat lots of chicken. Would return again at the drop of an egg! Excellent over all!
We like jams mostly because it is well located and the food is dependable.
This time we got an order of burned french toast but it was taken care of quickly and nicely.
They offer just two bagel options:everything and plain which means that you have to settle for too much or not enough flavor.
The room is pleasant and the staff very helpful.
But its main attraction is its location.
Duck was dry, no sides with the fish, very noisy...”chopped”
Great ambiance. Service could have been better, plus straws (even paper ones) that are necessary for most drinks. Food was pretty delish though, and drinks were great! 👍🏻
Fantastic meal! Fantastic service! Never felt bothered, and always cared-for. Our waiter had excellent suggestions and we were wowed by the dishes from start to finish. The duck was incredible and those scallops...! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Loved it! Everything was perfect!
All four of us loved it!
The kitchen was very slow - we were worried about missing our show at Carnegie 1.5 hours after our reservation - but the table service was prompt. The nettle pancake was excellent, our salad was disappointing, our pasta was mediocre (which at a Waxman restaurant is itself disappointing). This is to say that the experience was all over the place, and we expected better.
Jams is a gem in NY midtown. Great servixe and food in a very cozy environment. One of the best polenta too...
Would only eat here if staying at the 1 Hotel. Disappointed with almost everything we got. Not memorable.
Last time i went was when it first opened and i was disappointed. This time was much better
The smoked trout dish was great. Charcuterie plate needed some condiments like mustard or pickles. Carrot side was pretty but lame. African American Waitress was very pleasant. Female bartender with glasses(?) (served corner section of bar this past Thursday at 5:30) was disengaged, borderline rude and unfriendly. Overall enjoyed the atmosphere and while some dishes lacked umph I would come back to try different things
Food and service...overall very good experience
Both food and cocktails were creative and delicious. Our server did a great job managing against a hard time constraint. Service was very diligent but not overbearing. Menu and restaurant friendly for restricted diets. Great meal overall.
My husband and I had brunch at Jams recently before attending a performance at City Center and were very pleased with the experience. The room is handsome with windows looking out on 6th Ave. It's popular with groups so it can get loud at times, but we were still able to converse. Our server was very good, attentive and personable. The food was terrific. We prefer lunch to breakfast during brunch and they have a good selection of both breakfast and lunch items to satisfy everyone. I had a delicious salad with chicken along with a very nice glass of champagne and my husband had the chicken plate which is exceptional, the chicken was so tender, juicy and flavorful, even the white meat. We look forward to trying more from the menu when we're in the neighborhood. The only complaint was the restrooms which could have been cleaner.
Fun, attractive restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. I have some allergy issues, they took them very seriously and were fabulous in addressing them. My husband and I will return.
Great area and cute atmosphere but incredibly overpriced for mediocre food.
I went for the famous chicken, but I was greatly disappointed. Fortunately, the server, who seemed clueless, only brought us one order to share even though we had each ordered the chicken. I ordered cheese plate. It came with only two cheeses. In my world a cheese plate should have at least 3 choices. I will say the 2 portions were of a good size, but I would have rather had three choices.
It was great!
Great food (breakfast, lunch & dinner), friendly staff, nice bar.
- service was chaotic and unorganized
- blueberries are $20 a bowl
- toast is $5 for two slices of bread
I live in the area, so I’ve been to Jams several times. This visit was extremely disappointing. Dishes that we usually like we’re terrible. Prices here are high because it’s a hotel restaurant and near Central Park so prices are raised for tourists... that didn’t bother me when the food was good because I like the atmosphere. However, when their signature chicken dish ( that 3 of us ordered) comes served sitting in at least a cup of oil ... and the shaved vegetable salad that used to be delicious shaved vegetables is not a cold slaw mix .. the high prices become intolerable.
Great for brunch when visiting NYC for the weekend
What a miserable experience. We arrived and told the host that we were celebrating a birthday. They said they would bring cake and a candle. We ate dinner and waited. And waited. They never did.
And then, there was a hair in my food. And it wasn’t mine. Don’t. Eat. Here.
As usual JAMS never disappoints! On this visit my two girls & I stayed at the One hotel again & had the most delicious breakfast at Jams! Katherine, the manager & Salvador our server were an amazing team. They made my little girls so happy with yummy homemade pastries, chocolate pancakes, crispy chicken sandwich & my favorite the “Acme smoked salmon over everything Bagel with cream cheese”!! Delectable & addictive!! Please keep Katherine forever she makes our visit special every time! We will be back soon! Kate
We met at Jams as we all arrived at 1 Central Park for a girls weekend. The food is outstanding, this time I ordered the burger and it was the best burger ever!!!!! Thank you Jams team and many compliments to the chef! We will be back next year, you never disappoint!
Enjoyed a wonderful Birthday celebration
Had a business dinner and really enjoyed the food. Pasta was very fresh and better than a lot of restaurants in the city. Service was on point. Don’t love the set up of the bar and restaurant. Seems like eating in an airport or something but not a big deal with good food and service. Would go back.
When I entered Jams I was seated at a lovely table near the big windows. My server immediately came over. He was extremely nice very caring they I was happy and always approached me to see if everything was ok with a smile.
Salvador was my server and he was as I said wonderful and hope when I return he will be my server again.
Great food and ambiance! Loved the indoor plants. The service was a bit slow, but they were friendly and overall a great experience!
Chicken with salsa verde is the best chicken that I ate in NYC!! Ask for the fried fingerling potatoes as a side.Friendly staff and good ambience.
Wine by the glass, a little pricey. $25 for chardonnay is nuts. Food very good and plentiful!
Excellent food and service! We had the shaved salad, carrots, poke and some of the best mussels ever in a light meal before a show and food was wonderful. The service was excellent all around. Great experience!
My husband and I went to Jams on a date night out before going to see Hamilton. It was a bit of a special occasion as we don’t often get dates nights without our 4 year old joining us. This restaurant offered an amazing menu, friendly and sophisticated staff, and even brought us complimentary glasses of champagne to enjoy our evening out! We had the risotto and gnocchi and it’s was delectable! Highly recommended a visit here!
Loved it so much we came back for brunch . Hake, fried chicken , cavatelli all outstanding.
