Service was incredibly slow. We sat at our table for at least 20 minutes before I finally had to ask the host to send a server over. It didn't improve after that, either.
They were able to accommodate a last minute large party with little notice. Very nice atmosphere. Smaller portions but a nice place to eat.
We had lunch at the bar on St. Patrick's Day, so potentially, it could have been awful. It was great. A few well-chosen, craft beers on draft to choose and nice cocktail choices. We had the chicken and fries (baked chicken), the breakfast sausage, and the deviled eggs. All were yummy.
Grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter week-end!
We ate there on our first night in New York!
Everyone was so kind and helpful!
Food was delicious!!!
I love this restaurant!
Fantastic dishes - excellent service. Menu choices could be expanded a bit more.
Great lunch spot - many options for smaller portions and nice to share. The service was very good! Our waiter was very attentive and the host prior to the meal and post meal was very engaging! Highly recommend for a lovely midtown lunch. The ambience is also a nice break from other midtown restaurants that tend to be very formal.
We Loved KATE
I was really excited to try Jams-NYC for its organic/farm fresh selections, but basically it was like any other lack luster restaurant in the city, just with reclaimed wood tables (so like any restaurant in Brooklyn). Usually places serving nutrient dense foods have a higher vibrational quality, but we did not have that experience. The portions were small, there was nothing special about the food and the waiter was not that with it (forgot my drinks...and did not come around until mid-way through the main course so I could ask again). Given my level of excitement to try Jams -NYC, it was a let down.
My overall impression was positive. Obviously anything in NYC is expensive so I was expecting that. The service was very good. The restaurant was not noisy or over crowded, although busy.
The food was very good (my husband and I both had the steak). My only compliant is the menu. I’m not a fan of these Uber trendy places that have lots of menu items that I’ve never heard of- and that’s coming from someone who likes to cook and watches food network often.
Jams is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to, and will likely go back any time we are in NYC. Some friends and I went to NY for a girls weekend, and stayed at 1 Hotel, and tried Jams for dinner on Friday night. We liked it so much we went back for Sunday Brunch! For dinner, we ate family style, ordering several dishes to share, and we loved everything from the chicken, gnocchi, kale salad, salmon. The service was perfect, the wait staff seemed to anticipate all our needs, without us even recognizing their presence. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere vibrant and energetic. My friends and I even commented that the music level both times was simply perfect. For brunch I ordered the burrata scramble, and my friends ordered the banana nutella pancakes. Again, we enjoyed everything so much and look forward to our next trip to NYC!
Service and food were impeccable. The cuisine was creative spins on dishes. The crab au gratin was awesome as was the kale salad.
It took us half an hour to order food because our waiter never came by. We had to find and flag our waiter down for drinks, main, to order dessert, to get our check, and to have him take our cards. We were not in a hurry but it got to be ridiculous (8:15-11pm). We never ordered a second round of drinks. We joked about leaving without paying because we never even saw our waiter at the end and assumed he went home before us, so who would even know? Food was good, but not so good to make up for that. Very disappointing since I LOVE Barbuto and Waxman!
Food was awesome!
Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in New York City! This dishes were imaginative, fresh and delicious! The service is warm, educated and easygoing. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I can not recommend this place enough! Try the salmon pancakes and the tuna poke!!!!
Nice upscale lunch spot. Arrived early and had no problem being seated. Friendly service and great food.
We were staying at the 1 Hotel and needed to get to the theater so decided to try Jams. We were not disappointed - the food was excellent with many interesting options. Our server was
very attentive and we almost didn't make the play we were having such a good time.
We both ordered from the Restaurant Week lunch menu. We liked the kale salad. We ordered different desserts--cake for me, chocolate item for my friend--and enjoyed them. But the sauce that the half chicken was swimming in was oily and bitter. We both were very disappointed in that entree.
Previous to this experience, I would have recommended the restaurant. Menu gnocchi choice was incorrect. I was there in December and really enjoyed my evening there. I was looking forward to making it one of my staple restaurants but was totally disappointed. The menu choice was different than the online menu. Service was not great. Food was not as good as in December. Really too bad and really disappointing :(
Fun place - more hip than traditional. Food was excellent.
Jams is our favorite uptown dinning spot.
💯 stars 🌟
Just ok to me. Everyone raves over jams chicken. I thought it was too wet. Not cooked enough. Nothing special.
Solid meal. Good for business dinners. Reasonably priced.
We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed several drinks at Jams bar and the friendly staff. Our first night at the boutique hotel (1 Central Park Hotel) in which Jams is situated we ate dinner at Jams and were met immediately with a “happy anniversary.” As we sat down, we were treated to a glass of champagne. What a pleasant suprise. Everyone who served our table said happy anniversary. At the end of the meal we were again suprised with a lovely bowl of delicious ice cream with a candle and two spoons. The nicest part is that when we returned the next evening to have a drink at the bar we were greeted again. The whole experience was great. The extras showed attention to detail. Thanks to Jams
Very pleasant room, efficient service and interesting menu.
JW chicken and kale salad never disappoint. Sam, the manager gave us fantastic service and anticipated all of our needs
Jams is always good food in a casual atmosphere. Had the Jams chicken, which is very hard to beat.
I really wanted to like Jams. It's very stylish and the menu looked great. We had an early reservation (5:15) because we were seeing a movie at the Paris at 7. There were maybe 5 other tables when we got there. Initial service was okay, and friendly but after our appetizer round we waited up to 45 minutes for our dinner (just pastas). Our waiter sort of disappeared, too. The manager (I think) could see us looking around wondering why our pastas were taking so long and he came over and tried to explain that it was because they wanted to make sure they were just right, or something unbelievable like that. In the meantime he brought us over an appetizer, which was fine but we didn't need more food on top of our bread, apps and entrees. When our pastas did finally arrive they were just fine. We didn't even have time for dessert because we were rushed to get to the movie, which thankfully was just a block away because our whole dinner took nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes. To top it off there was no offer to discount anything (the place is not cheap). The by the glass wine list is just so-so as well. I expected there to be better California options given that the place is owned by Jonathan Waxman.
Vibrant atmosphere. Delicious meal. Excellent service.
Great restaurant week lunch. Certainly did not skimp on portions. The Jams chicken with salsa verde was outstanding . The serving was a large half of a chicken. Needless to say some was brought home to enjoy for lunch the following day.
Great food, but it just took too long for the food (pasta and salad) to arrive to be a great business lunch option.
We chose Jams for Restaurant Week lunch and it was a great call. The dining room is really nice without being at all fussy and the adjoining hotel has a terrific lobby with unusual decor. The food was top-notch too.
We went for brunch on our anniversary, and it was amazing. The food was impeccable. I had eggs with burrata and mushrooms, and my husband had the Benedict. Both were flavorful and well-prepared. The deviled eggs were the best we have ever had! I would absolutely go back.
Excellent staff, delicious food, great drinks could not have been better
What a wonderful experience! Great dinner after a show! Unique selections and fabulous service! We will return and definitely recommend this restaurant!
If you must go, be aware that they probably only offer one table for each time slot on OpenTable. All the 12:30 and later slots were taken, but the restaurant was almost empty by 1pm. The food was decent, but not exceptional. The service - there's no excuse for the attitude, the inattention, and flat out rudeness. Our "window table" was by a brick wall. We waited 20 minutes for a server to appear. When he finally did, there was no greeting, no explanation of the menu, just "what do you want?" That's not acceptable in ANYWHERE, from McDonald's and up, and especially not at those prices and pretensions. It's New York, there are better options.
I was really disappointed and offended by the rude service by the waiters. The food came out disgusting for such an expensive omelette. I will never recommend it.
I came into the restaurant expecting good food; but I was also happy to find attentive service. My waitress was happy to help with my selection by explaining the various dishes I mentioned and recommending appropriate combination on mains and sides. It was a very pleasant evening.
Like many newer places with an industrial, trendy feel to the decor, a bustling open kitchen, organic and gluten-free options, friendly and attentive service. It wasn't special or intimate or quiet, but it was great for a pre-theater dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall.
The Chicken and potatoes were AMAZING!!
The chicken and pork chops are the most popular items. Everyone loved the chicken but the pork chops were very salty.
Service was Great
