My husband and I went out on Thursday, April 19th for the "Dining for Life" event. We chose Jamonera because of its close location to our apartment. Wow are we glad that we did! The food was fabulous. Our server, Taylor, was very attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely return to this spot!

Great space, attractive, well designed, and cozy. The staff are really sweet, and very accommodating. The food is very good, though I think the descriptions on the menu could be improved a bit.
My only critique would be that the small plates (that I had) while delicious, didn't play flavors against one another. ie: something dense, soft, spicy and carby, (savory) should have a light, crunchy, (sweet-ish) partner to get the most our of both flavors by contrast. I think they should play with partnering dual flavors on the small plates.
Overall, its a great little spot, and I recommend it.

Staff were very accommodating and there was a great, lively, neighborhood atmosphere. Enjoyed the eggplant fries and thought the crispy flatbread with mushrooms and pesto was fantastic. The only slight disappointment was the short ribs. The meat itself was tasty, but we found the vegetable (?) accompaniment mushy and not particularly flavorful. That said, I'd definitely go back to sample some other things on the very attractive menu.

Be cautious if you have celiac or gluten intolerance. Might not be the place for you.

Phenomenal menu with so much flavor. Some of the best food I have had in Philadelphia. The tapas-style menu also makes for a good value as well.

Amazing. Jamonera just became one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. The ambiance is awesome!! Super cozy and intimate. Definitely a great place to bring a date.

Food was also amazing. Definitely get the mushroom flatbread and the paella mixta. Those are must try! The Jamon iberico is also great

Craig Laban praised Jamonera's version of a Sazerac, called a Xazerac, and also its seafood paella, so we went to try both and both did not disappoint! Xazerac is a very balanced, good cocktail. Bocherones are also amazing here. We thought the chopped salad was a waste of time, but everything else was wonderful. Great service and ambiance.

This a tapas bar with a few entrees. We ordered the Sunday tasting menu consisting of ten different small plates. It was delicious feast and we left very satisfied in every sense. Sunday was not too crowded but we had been turned away earlier in the week and reservations are a good idea. Recommended.

Have been this restaurant a number of times over the past few years and always have an interesting and delicious meal. Large menu with many choices to please carnivores, fish and seafood lovers, and vegetarians. The service is particularly attentive and helpful, and definitely adds to the overall experience. The tapas are generously portioned so that you get more than “a bite”, and all dishes are beautifully presented. I would have awarded five stars if the decor had been more attractive and the tables not so close together.

Whenever we are in Philly, we try to eat at Jamonera. The food is just that good. You can pace yourself and your meal by ordering one or two small plates and then more as your hunger is sated.

The grilled mushroom on Olive bread was a particular favorite as was the roasted carrot special.
The potatoes (Papa Fritas) are always ordered and we got a double portion and could have done more!
The Roja sangria that they make in house was very tasty, and the service is always attentive and fun.

The food was incredible. The dry aged steak and the octopus were so good that my wife and I had trouble deciding what to bite last! Also, we were new to sherry, but the staff provided excellent recommendations and explanations. We will definitely be back!

We were given our check without asking and then when we did not pay immediately we were asked to leave because the next reservation had showed up. I’ve never been asked to leave a restaurant before. We felt awkward and did not like being rushed out. Otherwise the food and wine was amazing! Would still go back even after this experience.

We had a party of 3 for the Paella &Sangria night. The special pricing was $38 . Seemed like a great deal. We felt like they gave us servings for 2 not 3. We asked about it and they said the kitchen said the serving was for 3. We saw another table ask the same question. Very disappointed in the serving size for this special. We ended up ordering additional food. Wouldn’t go again for this special. Otherwise the food was good.

Thank you for yet another amazing meal at Jamonera! It has become our family tradition for the girls to go to the Flower Show then catch a meal at this restaurant and once again, we were not disappointed. Delicious choices, great ambiance, and the staff was very accepting of my almost 7 year old who very much enjoyed her lamb chops and grilled bread. Wine is always on point. Thank you!

Very very good! My boyfriend and I shared the seafood paella and stuffed meatballs (2). We probably each could've gotten our own paella, but it was still very delicious! A little on the expensive side considering the portions but it was a great meal with excellent cocktails.

We ordered the paella and bought into a spoiled mussel .. clearly gone bad. We asked for the check and when they asked why, we told them. The response was tepid at best ... offered a free dessert but we said our appetite was gone. After that it seemed like they were glad to be rid of us even though we'd been quite polite about the whole thing. For some strange reason they took off the price of one of the appetizers but left on the bill the cost of the food that was bad.

Food was incredibly salty - so much so that we left half our meals uneaten. I have been there before and had ordered at least one of the same dishes that we had this past weekend and had no issue. This time the food was so salty that I won't go back. Plus the wait staff was not very friendly.

Charcuterie and cheese board were FANTASTIC, cocktails were delicious, and oxtail croquetas were very tasty. Everything else was sadly disappointing, especially the eggplant fries (which were underseasoned and pretty tasteless) and the brussels sprouts (which were overdone and oversalted). Will definitely be returning for more of the charcuterie/cheese and drinks!

Great menu with many great small plates (tapas). Shared grilled octopus, scallops and sausage combo - interesting pairing that really worked. The pace of the various plates was perfect with space to savor each item. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect night at Jamonera once again. This is becoming our valentine's day tradition and what I wrote in the notes did not go unnoticed by the manager and the wait staff, it really made for a great touch on our date night. Of all of the restaurants I've visited in Philly, Jamonera is hands down my favorite and the only one I know I'll keep going back to year after year. The food was phenomenal; bacon wrapped dates are to die for and now we've added the eggplant fries to our 'order everytime' list. The kobe beef special was phenomenally cooked and the sangria, as always, was the perfect touch. Thank you again for a wonderful night, we'll see you next year if not sooner!

Jamonera’s tapas were disappointing. We ordered four items from the menu. The only dish that tasted good was the cheese board. The other tapas were either over salted or over spiced. The service however was impeccable. Both our server and the bartender were attentive and knowledgeable. For the price and quality of the food, I would try another establishment.

The food is absolutely delicious, portion size is decent but it is a little bit pricy. However, over all the value for the quality of food you get is good and well worth it for a unique experience.
