Been here a few times but we were disappointed this time it was restaurant week and it was strongly suggested that the whole table do that menu. We have split between the four of us before with no problem. We did the RW menu. The 3 apps came out then 2 minutes later the 4 plates of the second course came out 7 plates on the table. Then after we finished there was a wait for main courses. One plate was served a few minutes later another then a long wait and the steak which we ordered with no cheese was brought out WITH cheese. Then my dish came out. We all felt weird eating while we waited for another cheese free steak to come out. Just very disjointed service. Food was good not great
The food was AMAZING. And our bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu (we opted to sit at the bar).
We visited Jamonera during restaurant week. The food was excellent! We talked about it all the way home!
Our favorite dish was the Gambas al Ajillo - tender shrimp with onions and chili perfectly cooked to a piquant and lively flavor. The most surprising thing was the beans. They were creamy and had absorbed the juices of the shrimp and chili. I would love to duplicate this recipe!
Everything was delicious, flavorful and at times surprising. White bean paste on grilled bread - so flavorful and perfectly spiced.
The blood orange sorbet and rice pudding were divine and the perfect way to end the meal.
We'll be back for sure!
We love this place. It was the main reason to come back to Philly.
The host was incredibly rude to us. We were 13 mins late for the reservation on a night with freezing rain and the first thing he say to us is I need back the table at 6:30! There were only 2 other couples in the restaurant at time. I was ready to leave but my wife convinced me to stay. The waiter was awesome. The food was ok. I won't be returning.
The wine was terrible. The food was average.
Everything was amazing, and I can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!
Love this place, food is fantastic, very tasty. Best octopus in philly and the eggplant french fries...unbelievable. great wine selection too.
Absolutely wonderful all around. The best Paella that we've come across since Barcelona. Strongly recommend; intimate environment, fabulous service
Delicious spanish inspired food. I’d only say the tortilla could be more spanish in style and prep. That’d be even more delicious. Otherwise great!
Drinks were delicious and so was the food. It’s a little tight and dark inside, but we didn’t give a crap because we were too busy stuffing our faces 😋
It was great.. beginning to end! food, service etc.
This was our second time at Jamonera - easily one of the best places for tapas in Philadelphia. Outstanding drinks, food and service. Wouldn't change a single thing!
Phenomenal! Have been a fan of all the Safran Turney restaurants (and businesses!) for years. First time at Jamonera and - what took me so long?! Best NYE night in recent memory. Phenomenal food and service. Delicious cocktails. Great attention to detail. Go already!
Everything was worse than expected from the restaurant of Spanish cuisine. Particularly, the Octopus was unacceptably oversalted.
Great food, good wine selection. The mushroom toast and the paella were amazing! The only downside is we sat a foot away from two tables (with several open tables further away). It was hard to have a real conversation with two groups directly next to us. Other than that, everything was great!
Delicious takes on traditional tapas and wonderfully inventive ones also.
Thought it was good. Over priced for not a lot of food. The sangria was delicious. Would not go back, but worth the experience.
This was the third excellent meal I have had here. I am pescatarian, and there are plenty of great options for me to eat. The tapas were delicious as were the eggplant fries.
Up there with some of the best food I have ever had. Don’t change a thing.
Xmas din wi daugh and her new bf
Just loved the selection of both small and bigger plates. Great wine as well.
As a solo diner, I was made to feel very at home in this cozy tapas restaurant. The staff are all warm, friendly, and professional. Food was hot and very tasty. The house-made hot sauce is a particular treat to liven and brighten fried dishes. The roasted beet salad is a flavor journey not to be missed!
Jamonera's ambiance feels quieter than many other dining spots on 13th, even though business was brisk the night I was there.
Fun, delicious and always enjoyable!
Love the specials on the weekends, whether paellla dinners or tapas tasting, always so creative and well thought out by the chef.
A fabulous place for a special occasion dinner. The menu is a bit small, but everything we ordered was delicious. We spent about $150 for two people, which is on the pricey side, but totally reasonable for the quality. The dates and the paella mixta are must haves!
Hot or miss. We liked two of the four dishes we ordered. Would have probably ordered more but felt very pressured to leave from the moment we arrived. After we ordered a few things the menus were taken away despite our asking to keep one at the table to peruse. So we decided to go elsewhere for the rest of our meal happily. Was a weird experience overall. Doubt we will return.
We had dinner at it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent throughout, everyone was very attentive. Our waiter, Dustin explained the menu and made excellent recommendations. All the food was delicious. We can't wait to return.
Gets better every time we go!!
Nice but too expensive. $13 for a half glass of wine, so overpriced for hot wine, was not served chilled, in fact was hot because bottles kept on bar. Rude bartenders, need to learn how to have some congeniality. Food was good, but tapas are tapas🤷♂️, not overpriced appetizers. Everything was priced as a meal
Every mouthful exquisite
I love this place but recently it’s been different. The wait staff is not as attentive the parses braves are amazing.
Always good. Was my third time @ Jamonera and always get the same feelings at the end of the night... Food amazing.. That paella mixta and the dates wrapped in bacon are our always choice. This time we added the Pulpo and the fried eggplant which both were great choices... Drinks and wine up to standard and service also great. For me one of the best of Philly. Cheers!!
Great food and drinks, but a bit on the pricey side for the portion size you get.
The food was delicious! Plenty of time and atmosphere to catch up.
The food was amazing. We lived in Malaga, Spain for 6 years and their paella at Jamonera was great even with our Spanish standards
First time diner and it was a pleasant experience. All of the food was very good and true to the intentions of the restaurant and the chef. All of the plates were well proportioned and perfect for sharing between 2 or 3 people. The grilled octopus was excellent and the papa frita and berenjenas were a pleasant surprise. Would come back and definitely recommend.
My new favorite restaurant
Was completely rushed from our table by the manager and our waitress. wasnt offered dessert or a drink after dinner. host (bald guy with glasses) kept glaring at us from across the room. for an expensive dinner, i would expect better service. wont be returning
