We booked Jamonera based on excellent reviews and were expecting authentic Spanish cuisine. What we got was dishes resembling Spanish cuisine. That aside, seasoning of the items we ordered were heavy. The paella was too salty and creme brulee too sweet. The only two things we liked were their white sangria and bacon-wrapped dates. Very disappointed. Do not recommend.
Very good. It’s a solid follow up to the Marcie Turney empire. While Barbuzzo still remains our favorite and Bud & Marilyn’s chicken sandwich makes chick-fil-a and the rest seem like a joke, it’s a delicious addition to the lineup.
Never thought an anchovy toast can be this good.
The two of us shared two appetizers and two mains which was more than enough food! The croquettes were very tasty as were the albondigas, and beet salad. The seafood paella was good, but a little too lemony and salty. Their wine selection was very good as well. We had a glass of albarino and a glass of tempranillo which were delilcious! We will definitely return!

Great food and service
Nice place, was not too busy. We sat at the bar out of preference and they took care of us. Shared several dishes, and some nice cocktails and vino. Would go back.
We always make a point of going to Jamonera when we come from New York to Philly -- great location and festive atmosphere -- love Spanish food so this is perfect.

Delicious food but I wish the entree was a bit larger. The sangria was tasty but could have packed a bit more of a punch. The service was great.
Only complaint is for the price, it would have been nicer to have a little more and for the price of the sangria there could have been a little more alcohol...so much ice ice ice...in the pitcher and in the serving glasses
I will definitely return and try something new.
Always a stop on my annual trips to Philadelphia. Flower Show and Jamonera. Food is excellent and service is better. My favorites are the vegetarian paella and sangria.
This was our second visit to Jamonera. The irst was 4 or 5 years ago. It was just as good, if not better.

All I can say is WOW, each dish was a test treat! The vegetable tapas board was a triple delight! We recently ate at a fancy french restaurant and the grilled octopus at Jamonera was MUCH better!! Our waiter was knowledgeable and just the right amount of friendly!!
Really enjoyed our meal and sangria at Jamonera. Charcuterie board was excellent--loved the jamon, cheese and accompaniments. We also had the vegetarian charcuterie--not as good, but very interesting flavors. Paella was excellent.
This is one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. My boyfriend and I go here at least once every few months and absolutely love it. The service is amazing and the staff truly makes the experience great. The menu has such different and delicious food. I will absolutely be going back!
We went during Valentine's Day. The prefix menu was definitely worth it -- 1 appetizer + 3 courses for $65. The food was excellent quality with amazing flavors. The staff was very friendly, and constantly waited at your side, wipe down tables, and picking up plates.
I hate to write negative reviews but in this case I really would not go back to Jamonera.
perhaps it was just the busy evening of Valentines day but except for our waiter, who was excellent, I had a poor experience. the food, except for desert was way too salty, and actually not very fresh tasting. not foul , just not tasty. the sauces and spices didn't quite work. also I was offered two kind of wine, neither of which was good tasting, and one of them had turned and tasted vinegary. as the evening went on the GM's actions seemed more to get us out so he could fill the table than to serve us. the desert was the best part, a home made sorbet. I won't be going back. I did like the ambience though.

Everything was nice... The lamb entree was very flavorful. The roasted apple bread pudding was off the hook. Enjoyed the night.

But getting “changed” 2k points for Open Table reservation left a bad feeling.
We made reservation for 7:15pm on Saturday night and charged 2000 open table points for “prime” time. In reality, there was nothing prime as they had free tables. In fact, couple without reservation was seated at the same “prime” time as we got to our table.
2k open table points for “prime” time reservation must be a new scam by open table or the way for restaurant to create hip.
Went for a work dinner. Wide variety of people and tastes and everyone loved it. We got all three of the paellas and they were all great. We ordered a wide variety of small and medium plates and they were all delicious.
Been here a few times but we were disappointed this time it was restaurant week and it was strongly suggested that the whole table do that menu. We have split between the four of us before with no problem. We did the RW menu. The 3 apps came out then 2 minutes later the 4 plates of the second course came out 7 plates on the table. Then after we finished there was a wait for main courses. One plate was served a few minutes later another then a long wait and the steak which we ordered with no cheese was brought out WITH cheese. Then my dish came out. We all felt weird eating while we waited for another cheese free steak to come out. Just very disjointed service. Food was good not great
The food was AMAZING. And our bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu (we opted to sit at the bar).
We visited Jamonera during restaurant week. The food was excellent! We talked about it all the way home!
Our favorite dish was the Gambas al Ajillo - tender shrimp with onions and chili perfectly cooked to a piquant and lively flavor. The most surprising thing was the beans. They were creamy and had absorbed the juices of the shrimp and chili. I would love to duplicate this recipe!
Everything was delicious, flavorful and at times surprising. White bean paste on grilled bread - so flavorful and perfectly spiced.
The blood orange sorbet and rice pudding were divine and the perfect way to end the meal.
We'll be back for sure!
We love this place. It was the main reason to come back to Philly.
The host was incredibly rude to us. We were 13 mins late for the reservation on a night with freezing rain and the first thing he say to us is I need back the table at 6:30! There were only 2 other couples in the restaurant at time. I was ready to leave but my wife convinced me to stay. The waiter was awesome. The food was ok. I won't be returning.
The wine was terrible. The food was average.
