Jameson's Charhouse - Skokie Ratings and Reviews
This is the best value on the NorthShore
My entree included soup and salad
I was stuffed before the entree arrived
My companion had two delicious appetizers: a knockout onion soup and yummy sliders
Our service was excellent
We were welcomed at the door and bit farewell when we left
What a find!
My husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary here and everything was perfect. Delicious food (prime rib and halibut with salad and soup and side dishes included), reasonably -priced, excellent service, free parking, easy to talk. Easy to get a private table on a Sunday night. Highly recommended over the line-out-the-door circus that many Saturday and Sunday night places have become. Do yourself a favor and try dinner at Jamesons!
1pm Sunday lunch, Located inside the DoubleTree hotel w/ample parking. Friendly staff, reservation honored on time. Decided to eat at a table in the bar area. Watched Bears preseason football. Good selection of menu items. Great burgers! Good Service. Reasonable prices, generous portions.
Had a small Caesar Salad which was very good. Had the 6 oz Filet Mignon (Medium #3) which was a disappointment. It appeared to have been tenderized a little with a tenderizer mallet.
A good Filet Mignon should not have to be tenderized with a mallet. The sides, broccoli and mashed potatoes were very good. Had Crème Brule for dessert which was excellent.
Jamesons must be owned by the Trump family. All talk and can not deliver a damn thing. We arrived at 6:30. and never saw our main course at 7:50. Our,waiter was scattered and disorganized. I actually thought he was stoned. Had to ask for straws 4 times. All in all we finally left without dinner we were not the only party in the restaurant that suffered a similar fate. I guess all the advertising in the world will not keep this location operating for very long. THIS PLACE NEEDS LOTS OF HELP.
Many years ago I lived almost next door to the Jameson's in Mt. Prospect and haven't been back since. This past weekend, my hub and I needed a place between the NW side of Chicago and Evanston for dinner, and the Jameson's in Skokie caught my interest online. We made a reservation for around lunch on Sunday, and it was excellent! Lovely service, great menu ... and food, and really awesome service.
We called ahead of time to ask about corkage fee and were assured that there was one. In restaurant they declared that the fee was $20, but then added $25 to the bill! How desperate you should be to treat customers like that? Lack of class...
I'm glad we decided to give Jameson s second chance the Greek pork chop was delicious. We shared an appetizer of onion rings . The party with the steak said it was excellent as did the party with the chicken Marsala. The cream of mushroom soup was also good. We were so filled we could not do dessert. Next time
My friend and I are constantly on the lookout for a terrific cheeseburger, and this place was recommended. Not only were the burgers delicious (new #1 on our list), but the service was friendly and efficient (thanks, Donna!), the cocktails were generous, and the ambiance was pleasant and relaxing. We have added this restaurant to our "favorite, dependable, go-to places".
Do not let them seat you in the bar area for dinner unless you want to be there-- very noisy. We asked for a booth in dining room--much better. Server very good . The liver and onions was a new experience that will not be repeated. It was ground and formed and had texture of grd, beef as well as almost burned on underside. Definitely NOT good in texture or flavor--most was left on plate. Chicken breast with artichokes was fine. Onion soup very good. Dined this past Thursday.
We are not in a hurry to return.
We Loved Jameson's Charhouse
My family and I stayed at the Doubletree to visit family and
see the Dance Festival at the Theatre next door.
We eat at Jamieson's a couple of times and the food was fantastic and
the service wonderful. We will come again. LOVED IT!!
The table we were given was awful. They claimed they needed it for overflow, but it was situated at the entrance to the dining room between the wood pillar openings, so everyone had leaving and entering had to squeeze through, bumping our chairs. Absolutely no room for handicap and probably a violation of Village of Skokie ordinance. Service was fair almost poor.
The saving grace was the food was good, and well prepared.
The experience was I probably won't return as management had an indifferent attitude about the seating.
