Always go here when going to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. Great food and service
Because it’s so convenient to Northlight Theatre it’s our first choice for dinner
Good for pre show dining, but noisy. The menu is quite varied. The Amish Roast chicken was blah - no real taste. A lot of food, though. Each meal came with soup and salad. Average.
It's a Steak House, bills itself as a Steak House, and can't get it's steaks right. My bone-in RibEye, supposed to be medium-rare, came out well done and then, the 2nd time around closer to medium-well then medium-rare...my daughters filet, supposed to be Medium, looked awesome, for medium-rare to rare (so I'll be eating that leftover). Not sure how you can call yourself a Steak House if you can't get your steaks right.
As always, one of our favorite go-to restaurants for a night out. Prime rib is always great, the cream of chicken soup is the best anywhere. Our server, Andrew, was outstanding- very genuine, attentive without hovering, and willing to accommodate a vegetable substitute.
The burger was unseasoned. I’ve had better chicken Marsala at Olive Garden (& that’s not a place I enjoy). The key lime pie was not good at all. The graham cracker crust was not tasty. My kids stopped eating their dishes and desserts because it was so bad. What child doesn’t finish their burger and dessert?! The seating location was cramped to accommodate Mother’s Day crowd. Sadly, I was blamed by the family for choosing this location.
A little disappointed. Only two servers on mothers day. There were 6 large parties in the back room with 2 servers. Tables were cramped. Servers kept knocking my purse and coat off my chair and then stepping on them. Servers handed plates to guests to pass to others at the table.
While I understand it's mothers day and it will be busy. It is still poor planning on the restaurant's part. There should have been 1 less table and more servers.
Attentive friendly waiter. Bussers were terrific. Yummy soup and salad with lovely blue cheese dressing. Filet was juicy and cooked perfectly, shrimp de jonghe will bring us back soon. Warm bread, soft butter. Surprise tiramisu birthday dessert with a candle, comped. A perfect meal.
Nothing very special about the restaurant just a good place for dinner in the suburbs. The food is good, large portions including soup or salad and side dishes, and reasonable prices.
Salmon was full of salt though they took it
back and remade it
Our manager and waitress very nice but I feel
The service is a bit too slow
Overall good experience. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was good. Seating was a little cramped but ok.
Very nice place. Private and quiet in restaurant. Fun and lively in the bar.
Service was outstanding and food was excellent. Will be back of course!
Our waitress was terrific and after 7 ut got quieter and a group of 4 were a le to talk and laugh and have a good time.
Waiter seems very busy for such an unbusy night with bad weather.
We had a great evening. The food was very good and Service was exceptional. We will be back! Ira & Shari
I ate at this restaurant a year ago and wasn't impressed with the food or the service. I reluctantly went again, and had an entirely opposite experience! Entree came with soup and salad. Everything, including the dessert sundae, was very tasty. Steps from theater, and a parking lot.
Nice restaurant but very expensive for steaks compared with other restaurants.
Time for some new menu items. I am at Jamesons once a month, and the menu is getting a little tiresome.
We dine at Jameson's at least four times a year as we enjoy the next door Northlight Theatre productions. Our most recent visit was the first time that our meal was a bit disappointing. The soup lacked its usual body and could have been warmer, while the baked potato, usually especially good, was O.K. My husband's filet kabob, something he often orders, was not as tender as has been his previous experience. Our service however, was friendly, appropriately attentive and made the meal enjoyable. We'll certainly be back, but our most recent visit felt like the kitchen was off its mark. I would be remiss if I did not affirm what good breakfasts one can get at Jameson's. Breakfast is not this restaurant group's signature, but because of excellent wait staff, breakfast is a thoughtful treat. Especially when Darlene is your server!
Just an awful restaurant experience. Waitress forgot our appetizer order, screwed up the drink order, and got the soups wrong. The lamb (at $34) was way overdone and nearly inedible. One star. For some reason, opentable keep changing my rating to two stars
Always consistently good food and a great value. The chopped steak lunch which includes soup or salad, and 2 sides for $10 is phenomenal. It was perfectly cooked and comes smothered in grilled onions and mushrooms.
Good food and variety of fish dishes for a Friday in Lent. I’m used to great steaks there, so this was an excellent change of pace.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years and they need to step up their game lately. We waited 15 minutes for a waiter to approach us after sitting down. We were the only ones sitting in the bar at the time, 11:30. The "Greek" salad was barely that. I paid extra to have steak in mine, and the salad itself consisted of mostly shredded dark leaf lettuce (very bitter). Normally greek salads are made with iceberg lettuce. There was green pepper in it, only 4-5 olives, and no feta cheese. Very disappointing, but the waiter gladly compensated me, but of course I left hungry, since I only ate the steak, and couldn't get his attention for 10 more minutes.
Our pork chop was over cooked even though we ordered it medium rare, it came well done. The server and service was excellent as usual.
Great food Perfect steak!!!
Family birthday. Delicious food. Service average. I said it was my daughter’s birthday - we had balloon and cake and the restaurant didn’t even wish her happy birthday. Why bother to ask if it is a special occasion if you don’t bother to acknowledge it? Not looking for a free dessert - but it would have been nice if the waiter wished her happy bday.
Reliable for good food and ambiance before or after theatre.
This is our first time dining at Jameson’s, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to give them a try. We had high expectations because of the menu options and their prices. We ordered the calamari and the potato skins to start; they were not what we expected! The calamari was warm not hot, and the potato skins were left in the frier (or standing) too long. When we ordered our entrees we were told that we could get a soup and a salad, we were pleasantly surprised as most places they give choice of soup or salad. We ordered soft drinks for the kids which we don’t normally do but they didn’t come for about 10 minutes so I canceled them. We got our soups, however the salad never came. My wife ordered a steak and roasted potatoes; the potatoes were so dry that they were hard to swallow. My baby back ribs were missing my potato. I didn’t mention the missing salads, the dry potatoes, nor the missing potatoes to our waiter just because it seemed like she had probably been overseated and she seemed like she was running around. She was super nice and personable!
Food was good it includes soup for your meals. Lots of drinks and friendly service
Kitchen was very slow. Burgers were yummy.
For lunch, this is a well kept secret. Food is great, service is great and not as busy as it should be (tucked into the lobby of the hotel).
The only issue I had was that the Creme brûlée was runny
One person in our party ordered pork chops. They came seared on the outside, but raw on the inside. The waiter did not check on us after the food was delivered, and did not appear concerned when we tracked him down to tell him the food was uncooked. He did get a manager to come over, who offered to make another entree. Unfortunately, we were running late for theater and there was barely enough time for the replacement dinner.
Something has changed at this restaurant. The chopped salad consisted of gray lettuce with dressing and minute bits of other ingredients. The worst ever.
It should have gone back to the kitchen. the guest of honor ordered the same thing and did not complain, so I didn’t send it back. Unappetizing and just plain awful
This is the second time I have been disappointed at Jameson's. Both time I had poor service, this time with a new server. We had to get the manager to get a server. She didn't bring the salad before the main coursed. We explained we had theatre tickets and by the time we received our food we were rushed. The food was good but we didn't have time to finish it. Also I was celebrating my birthday and although they offered a dessert, I had to refuse it. There was not time to enjoy it.
Enjoyed the food it’s a great place!
The food is consistently good and portions are generous.
Great place, quiet despite being a busy Friday night. Prime rib was off the hook!!
Dora is always such a welcoming hostess.
We got there early to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday, asked for a booth. We got seated at a table that seemed to be an extra table in the walkway to the kitchen. Not a great location. We had every server walking by us the entire dinner. Not pleased at all. Service was O.K. We had to continually ask for our water glasses to be filled.
We will not return.
