Jameson's Charhouse - Mount Prospect Ratings and Reviews
Our booth was surprisingly cold. Food was just okay. Ribeye was more fat than I would get if I bought steaks at Costco. Wife’s filet was not very tasty. Potatoes were dry. Every once and while we say hey we haven’t gone to Jameson’s in awhile. And that’s why.
We were at Jameson's on New Years Eve with a friend. We all agreed the food was great, as was the service. We have been to Jameson's numerous times for anniversaries, birthdays, as well as for regular weekend and weeknight dinners. Our favorite server is Anneta, but we have never has a bad experience with any server.
We went on Christmas Day. We had 3:00 reservations arrived at 2:49 & were seated immediately. They were busy but we found the service to be efficient & friendly. The food was delicious as always--and a generous amount of food for the money. I definitely would recommend this restaurant for holidays--we dined there on Thanksgiving as well.
Hadn't been to Jameson's for awhile. Boy, did we realize we were missing out on great food and perfect service. We sat at the bar with four other friends and the bartender was most attentive and our food arrived perfectly cooked and the right temperature. Their cream of chicken rice soup is delicious. Go to Jameson's. You won't be disappointed.
Have always enjoyed Jameson’s. A lot of food for the value. Only disappointment was in the bone in ribeye, seemed overly fatty. Yes I know a ribeye almost always has a piece of fat, but this was overly spread out throughout. However, my porterhouse and everything else was excellent.
Will still return to Jameson’s!
Service was good - but food three stars - seem to
Be hit or miss - my food was excellent however one of my guests received an overly fatty steak- with chunks and was too embarrassed to complain because someone else recommended and this restaurant is very dear to them a family favorite- my husband said he would not return
We sat up in the back of the restaurant. Absolute worst service ever!! Took our waiter at least 20 minutes to just get us water. Asked for straws 5 times!! Kept forgetting anything we asked for. Worst service and worst waiter ever. We loved Jameson’s and now we will never go back because of the service we had. We used to go at least once two to three times per month. Don’t ever plan on going there again. Do not come here if you have somewhere to be.
Had a 4:45 reservation and we were seated around 5:25. Understandable, as it was Thanksgiving and the restaurant was very, very crowded. In fact, there was no standing room inside, so we waited in the vestibule, just inside the entry door. This was my first experience having Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant and I was amazed at the number of people that were there. That being said, the food was very good, as it has been every time I have eaten here. The service was as good as you would expect it to be given the extreme number of people dining. Pricing is a little high, however the portions are sizeable and both soup and salad are included. Although we did not have the turkey, $22 seemed overpriced to me, when you could have a steak or fresh fish for the same price. I will definitely go back to this restaurant, as I have been doing since they opened. Just never again on Thanksgiving!
My friend and I went to Jameson's for Thanksgiving. I was very glad that I'd made reservations before hand, as the place was extremely busy. We were pleased to be seated in the bar area as this was more quiet. It made for better conversation. The food was excellent, presented at the table beautifully. The quantity of food was enough for two meals. Excellent value for the price. I definitely will recommend Jameson's to friends and family. Our server was pleasant and attentive without being overly present. It was a lovely afternoon.
My daughter, sister and myself really enjoyed our Thanksgiving celebration at Jameson's in Mt. Prospect. Food an service were fantastic! Huge portions, great selections and wonderful service. Our servers name was Desi, not sure on the spelling. She was very pleasant and attentive. I've been to Jameson's restaurants in Arlington Hts., Crystal Lake and Mt. Prospect. Never disappointed....always consistent. I highly recommend Jameson's.
Our waiter was inattentive (May have seen him 2 times the whole time we were there). Water glasses were left unfilled and forgot to place our appetizer order. Overall let down by the service.
To make matters worse someone was given a totally burnt steak (completely over cooked and incinerated). The steak looked very odd given they ordered a medium rare steak. We should have complained, but my father in law is a proud man and doesn't like to cause a scene. Overall, we don't plan on going back, which is a shame given that we like to come here for special occasions.
I'm not sure if this was an isolated case or an indication of the beginning of a slide, but we have been here a bunch of times before Saturday. Never have any serious problems...not this time.
1. some type of gnats or other insects flying around our booth
2. waiter seemed more interested in telling us about where else he works, a fine dining place, than in getting us some bread...finally got it after salads.
3. 3 of us ordered soup to go, my daughter wanted hers at the rest...never got it.
4. we ordered a second bottle of wine and after about 10 minutes he came back to confirm we really wanted another bottle. There were 4 of us drinking wine.
4. I ordered a filet, he brought me a strip steak. I told him I'd eat it since everyone had their food.
5. My two adult childeren ordered filet's with a crust. My son's 11 oz. filet had my Daughter (6 oz) crust on it and vice versa. They used their knife and fork to cut it off and swapped. Waiter no where to be seen.
I spoke with Mike the mgr, after I paid the bill, and just told him I tought he might want to address a couple things for the sake of their following and neighborhood "gem" status
