A longtime Venice institution. Great food and ambience.
Food was amazing!! Service was terrible. Was there for 3 hours and not by choice
My sister was in town from Hong Kong, and we wanted to have a nice dinner for her 60th Birthday and we had a great night, martini's were cold, service was warm and friendly (our waiter Tom was fun), the food was delicious and hot. The Duck confit with mushroom risotto was fairly salty, but the portions of all dishes were very good overall. Fish tacos were tasty and the fish was plentiful. The Brisket and mash potatoes were a hit. Desserts were yummy as well, cheesecake and the berry crumble, mmmm. We were seated at a nice corner table for 5, very comfortable, in the past we were slightly disappointed in our table selection by the host so, we were very happy this night. Wednesday night is good night to be at JB. We'll be back!
Nice place with avg food. I gave it 3 stars overall.
Had a great date night there. The food and service was perfect. Can't wait to go back.... 1/2 off of the wine bottles helped with the experience too lol...
It’s consistently excellent. We especially loved Tom our server.
Such a great dinner! Truly perfect in every way. We heartily recommend the French Dip and the Duck Tacos, and the Cosmo was as good as it gets.
Waiter was amazing and food was terrific!
It was an amazing dinner. Food and service was delicious.
Always a good experience - a little noisy on Friday nights, but still good food and ambiance.
We went there because of the film. .. I love you man. Glad we did x
Took my girlfriend out to James Beach. Her first time. She loved it! The gentleman host was very friendly and checked on us periodically through our meal to make sure we were having an enjoyable time. The server girl was great too! She took great care of us and took the extra time and patience to explain to us about different drinks and meal options. We’ll be back for sure! Thank you all!
Great for casual dinner with close friends!
Always a casual culinary treat. Inside or outside, or for having a private party in the back room, always great food in a fun atmosphere. James and Daniel are wonderful hosts and the staff is friendly and professional.
Food is as good as always. Waiter could have been a little more attentive.
I love the duck tacos. The duck is roasted to perfection. And the plate has all the fixings to make your own tacos. Fish and brisket are very good too! With a watermelon margarita. Yum!
Service sucked. Waited forever for parts of meal
Atmosphere and vibe are good. Food was average. Expensive for what it is. The problem with the outdoor seating is that people sit on the wall outside smoking which is so bad when you’re trying to eat.
Overall I have no complaints. I’ve always likes James’ Beach. Good service and good food but I regret not paying attention when I got the check. They overcharged us. I think it was an honest mistake but annoying nonetheless.
Excellent food and service. Consistent quality makes James Beach stand apart!
Great atmosphere. Nice people. Good food. Loved it.
Outstanding food and service. Been here a few times and always great.
Consistent and delicious!
This was a last minute choice, but it was an excellent choice. Had spent the day walking Santa Monica and Venice Beach. We were exhausted and hungry. The food was delicious and the ambiance was nice. It was a great end to our day!!
Spectacular service, scenery and food! I’m really looking forward to my next visit.
Food and service were great. It was Saturday night and it wasn’t too noisy or too crazy.
fun atmosphere, great food, and service! we enjoyed the experience immensely! i would go back
Ok place, Gabby the waiter didn't refill water without us asking and dirty plates weren't removed. Another waiter covering other tables did much better. Food was tasty so kudos to the kitchen.
Server was wonderful! Calamari and Ceviche Starters were great! Order mahi tacos ... but wasn’t in love with them... however my bf was, sooo...there you have it
We love James Beach and it’s charming owners, James and Danny. Each staff members warm and welcoming - from reception to the bussers - and service is excellent. James Beach is more than a local favorite, it’s a through thread in the fabric of Venice.
always love it
this time I sat at the bar...The bar tender has some good stories... its really good food and nice ambience
Great place for locals and out of towners. Fun atmosphere, great service as well as ambiance. See you soon!
I have been here many times. The service was excellent. Great drinks! Bloody Mary's a must have! Good warm cranberry scones to start brunch. I usually start with the ceviche. On this visit the ceviche had mango and was under salted. A simple addition of table salt fixed that. I'm not a fan of mango on ceviche but the quality of the ceviche was great.
I had the the brisket and eggs. The only issue I had with the dish was the pan sauce. Brisket was good. It came with beans/cheese, guac, and Pico de Gallo. All sides were great.
Great place! Will be returning!
This was perfect in every way. Service and food was exceptional. Every one should try this out. Even my picky tween was happy.
Sehr gutes Essen bei lockerer Atmosphäre. Gerne wieder.
Place came recommended by a trusted friend. It did not disappoint. The drinks were great and the appetizers were phenomenal (loved the calamari). Service was entertaining (pray you get seated by Anthony). Super close to the beach and Venice night life. Highly recommend.
We came for the fried chicken on a Thursday. So good! Really fresh, not greasy but light crispy batter. The creamed spinach was so good, you could actually tell it was spinach, not a goopy mess. And it came with a little cast iron skillet of moist and tastes corn bread.
We had Mother’s Day brunch here. We needed to eat early before getting on the road so we booked a table at 11:00.
It was not super crowded and we were seated right on time.
Moms got a free cocktail and the special mom-osa was delicious.
The buffet was a nice spread with pastries and traditional breakfast fare. We were not rushed and enjoyed eating in the clubhouse area which felt very beachy.
Our server was very nice and cleared plates quickly.
I like the mood here and would certainly go back.
Went for Mother’s Day brunch. Great service. Beautiful restaurant. The price point was not great. 5 of us for the brunch was 300 plus. 39 dollar brunch did not include coffee and juice.
Good fish tacos, but clearly they don’t know what the East Coast has to offer.
