We went for the Saturday Rib Fest and were very happy with the food quality, temperature and flavor! Outstanding value! We'll be back!
This is inside the Pheasant Run Resort and one of the few restaurants left within it.
The entire resort is definitely in need of a make-over including this establishment.
When we sat down, we noticed that the tables and chairs look like they're from circa 1987.
Not a good sign so far....
We were there for the Sunday breakfast buffet and although the food was decent, it certainly wasn't worthy of what we ended up paying between the two of us.
Service was also not the best as they only had 1-2 waitresses present and they were obviously having a difficult time keeping up.
Along with the other patrons, we took it upon ourselves to go to the bar area and refill our own coffees. Overall, not the best experience but the food is decent and they do have a chef present alongside the omelette station.
I enjoyed the food. We had the all you can eat fish fry this time. Did not need a refill. Food was delivered really fast, I was just sitting down with my salad when it came. Staff was polite and attentive.
We sat down at 7 and didn't have water or drinks until 7:35. Even when we complained it didn't seem that important to anyone. Our server was apologetic but even after that the kids food took forever to come out. First and last time eating here. The food itself was average.
I've been here before during a weekend night and the atmosphere was really fun. Food is OK, but a bit overpriced, in my opinion.
5th time I have dined at Jambalaya. Restaurant is in same venue as history show I attended. Food is very good, especially the namesake jambalaya. However, service is worst of any restaurant I have gone to in my entire life. Consistently end up at a table in no-man's land where I need to find a manger to get any service. Repeatedly had to ask for silverware and hot sauce. This is typical for any of the times I have been there.
Waitress was verry busy did not come back for long time
Came here on a mother/son "date" and I think I'm going to have to come back for a real date with my girlfriend. Great place to eat, nice people, and good food. Very accomadating. Ask for Lisa! Reservation recommended.
Very good Cajun/Creole food. Excellent atmosphere ANF very good service from our newbie waitress. I believe her name is Jamie.
Truly great staff, food service was quick. Went on All YouCan Eat rib night (Sat), and the ribs were tender in some places and a little chewy in others, but overall a good value for the money. They just need a little more sauce. The bench seat in our booth was really worn out, but overall the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice enough. We had fun afterwards on Bourbon Street- went next door for ice cream and then to the arcade, but there's also an escape room, comedy club and other things to do here. I would recommend.
We had a great dinner, especially because we had our wedding at pheasant run this past summer! The food was delicious and the service was great!
The ribs for the "all you can eat" were very good. The meat just fell off the bone.
Had a great experience last year and tried again. This visit was opposite from last year. Service was not that good, food was not good and manager was standing talking to him one table only for about a half hour. Will find someplace to go to next year.
Very nice meal, great service, and quiet atmosphere. First time visit and we enjoyed it!
Not impressed with the food or the setting. Service was good.. maybe if we had been there a different time for live music it would have been better....
Disappointing in food quality. Needs some redecorating.
Service was ok but food was horrible and we spent two days to digest it.
The waitress, Isabella, was very attentive to our table for the full evening.
Food was mediocre - not much ambience. Booths had a Mardi Gras pattern but the large wall near the dance floor was blank, Needs some improvement there. FGood doesn;t give the flair of New Orleans cuisine.
Our server was great. Pulled pork tacos delicious. But this place needs major renovation
Restaurant was empty upon our arrival at 5:30pm which made me a slight bit concerned. We were greeted and sat immediately. Slight language barrier with server made getting menu recommendations difficult. She made sure to make us aware of the "all you can eat" Friday Fish Fry, but did not elaborate on what was included. Started with Seafood Gumbo that had all of the advertised ingredients, but lacked flavor, just like the Boudin Sausage Sandwich I ordered. Wife had the Jambalaya which she stated was just the right size and flavorful. Bill was presented quickly and visit was concluded with nothing overly special to brag about.
Food was amazing! Jambalaya was made in house! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys cajun food! A little piece of Louisiana right outside of Chicago!
Food was outstanding. Big portions. Environment was great. Our server, isabelle, was amazing. Very reasonably priced except for the alcohol. But every thing else, double thumbs up.
A good restaurant only if you are staying at Pheasant Run. Their New Orleans atmosphere was tired and not very authentic. They food was okay but nothing special.
DJ was great. Service was not the best. Pricy for what you get. Food came out cold.
We ordered their Calamari, Tator Tot Tower, Truffle Chips, Kids Mac N Cheese, Kids Hot Dog and Chef Special Honey Blone Beer Burger. The calamari was very chewy, the tator tot tower was great, my 4 year old loved the Mac N Cheese, the truffle chips say it comes with a side of sour creme but it was slathered all over the top, and the burger originally came out with two bottom halfs of a bun and was way over cooked. After the second burger came out it was cooked to the proper temp but they put very little honey blonde beer cheese on it. Needless to say I won't be back for dinner.
Service was very slow, very hard to get a drink, needed to go to the bar and even that was very slow
Our server, Andrew, was friendly and took good care of us. Food & drinks were delicious. Thank you.
We came here both for dinner and did the breakfast buffet. Dinner, even though they were busy, our food came out quickly and hot. The wait staff was excellent. Everything tasted delicious. I had the smothered chicken, and my husband had the lobster mac and cheese. we both left full and happy.
After reserving a table ahead of time through their website, I showed up and they said that they do not accept table reservations. After being seated, we order drinks and an appetizer, which never came until our meals were already being served. The wait staff wasn't attentive.
The service was good. The waitress very friendly and the busboy very attentive. We all had the all you can eat ribs and they where delicious.
The place is run down. Needs work. The food was unbalanced. I had Lobster Mac and Cheese. It had lots of Lobster but the cheeses that were chosen overpowered the Lobster. You could not taste the Lobster. Further there was a pool of grease on the Mac and Cheese. Another person had Walleye Tacos with a cabbage slaw that had so much wasabi in it you could not taste anything but the wasabi. The other person in the group had the Ruben sandwich. He said the cord beef was tough and the sandwich was not grilled but the bread had been put in a toaster.
The only good food was the pretzel with beer cheese appetizer.
Food was basic hotel room food...nothing great. Service was ok on but waiter was more interested in checking scores of football game than checking on his tables. Management was around but not too concerned with the actions of their staff.
The signs and the southern style menu
Great service needs remodeling. Food ok. Good for a beer or mixed drink but the wine isn't very good
The Saturday Rib Fest is well worth it. Excellent buffet bar with it. A real local gem!
We couldn't find the restaurant in the building because there is no sign on it. The wait staff wore polo shirts and brought 2 of us water in plastic beer cups, everyone else has glasses. She never offered us a second drink or dessert. The website claims live music, there was none. The good was mediocre.
A pretty decent restaurant, food-wise, but badly needing an update in decor. Worn and torn furniture, sparce decorations, fading carpet; nothing really says "New Orleans" about the place. Looks like it hasn't been renovated in 20 years.
This place is run down and needs a makeover fast! The seats in the booth were very worn and the entire place just looks (and smells) old. We really wanted to like it so we could support a local business but we won't be back. The food (we had the lobster mac and cheese and fish fry) was just OK and with all the other choices available in St Charles and the surrounding area there is no need to settle.
