Jamaica Me Hungry
Food was excellent and came out fast. Prices were a bit high, as to be expected of a restaurant in Wildwood. However the service was terrible. It took 30 to receive our check after telling our waitress and other staff multiple times we we're ready to leave. It was not busy at the time we were dining. I can't imagine what it would be like during peak hour.
Went to their "rib night", which gives additional servings of ribs, if desired. The first portion was pretty skimpy...maybe about 5 ribs. Reorders were 2 ribs each.
Very casual atmosphere, which is generally OK for the beach, but this felt almost like a school cafeteria setting.
Food quality was OK...not bad, nothing special. Prices are reasonable.
Very limited parking, so expect to feed a meter.
Excellent staff and great Americanized versions of Jamaican fare. Perfect complement to the motel at its location. Wonderful French toast for breakfast, tasty jerk ribs for dinner. Highly recommend!
Great food, but the management needs to relax. Very loud rude server who was livid that I invited my family to join me. Such a shame, it’s a great place. Do not yell at customers who are bring you MORE business. We had a large group, waitress made a scene as we came in about people coming in. Can’t read your sign if you’re standing in front of it!
I do not appreciate being embarrassed with my family and guests. Chose another place.
Fantastic as usual. Breakfast lunch or dinner. The food is always amazing 5 stars !!!
Went here on vacation and it was the best food I've had in awhile! Great breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and BYOB!
The food at Jamiaca-Me-Hungry was amazing. I had the chance to order the "All you can eat Ribs" and they were excellent. I would definitely be visiting next time I'm around the area.
Delicious ribs with great service. Two nights with all you can eat ribs, reservations suggested. Jamaican vibe and very relaxing. Loved the fried plantains do not miss.
Me n wife went to try authentic Jamaican food n that's exactly what we got !
The food was good and the service was good but not polished. We hadn't even finished our appetizer when the main courses came out. Again while the food was good the ambiance did not really match the prices.
Jamaican food with a twist. GREAT!! Awesome service .
Ate lunch and dinner there. Delicious food, would definitely return!
Food and service was awesome!! Can't wait to go back next summer!!!
Family night out in wildwood. We ordered the Scallops and Shrimp curry, the half rib platter and two chicken and Rib combos. We enjoyed the food with zero issues!
The restaurant is small and not fancy. However, the service was excellent and the food was very good. The curry could have a little more spice. The jerk seasoning is excellent. The location is small but bright with excellent music. Our server offered extra jerk spice and barbecue sauce without being asked. The portions are large.
I thought an automatic gratuity for parties of five or more was a bit surprising. I would think eight or more is more the norm.
You were right! THE RIBS ARE THE BEST! FRIENDLY STAFF & COZY ATMOSPHERE! Would definitely go back!
Disappointment! There were 2 of us and we both ordered a curry dish which was bland. However, the crab chowder was very good. The total for 2 meals, an appetizer and 2 cups of chowder was over $90 with tip. Wasn't worth it! Sorry! Will not go back.
It was very quiet in the restaurant so we didn't need a reservation but when we got there and said we had one she had no clue what we were talking about. The AC was barely on so it was stuffy and warm in there on a very warm humid night. The coconut shrimps appy was very good. The ribs were good the fish and chips were good but the Caribbean Crab Cakes really had no flavor. The sautéed garlic string beans were severely overcooked. Over server was very attentive and she was there alone and a large group came in too.
Went in thinking real Jamaican food. Most of it tasted like it was just Microwaved. The patty was similar to the ones I get at the store. Nice people just didn't meet my expectations
Had the Cuban sandwich.. Really good and authentic. Family ordered quesadilla and were great.
Went back for breakfast to load up again.. Very good. Servers all helped each other .. Nice place.
Gets a little loud with the kids but after all... it's the shore..
There was nothing to choose on the list to check great for dinner and we went for dinner. Make a reservation for better seating. Very small but great service and food. The meat pies are amazing and the spicy sauce served with YUM! My husband and I ordered the special which was a shrimp and scallop combo. I almost didn't order that because I'm not that keen on scallops but am so glad I did. They were the sweetest, best cooked most delicious I've ever eaten! It's a B.Y.O.B. The teens ordered the ribs which are smoked on premise and were delicious and the burger which was the highest quality. This was our 2nd visit, the 1st being last year on vacation. We went on a Wed night then for the all you can eat ribs and enjoyed it so much we made a point to go back this year. I'm afraid I don't remember our servers name but she was an attentive and sweet blond girl. Both times I've been there the service was fantastic!
Very, very nice casual place in the Crest. Food was very good and it has outdoor seating.
We had a reservation for 8:30pm. When we pulled up in front of Jamaica Me Hungry, one of the staff flipped the open signs to closed. Very disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone.
Food was good. Service excellent. Went for the all you can eat ribs on Wed evening. We were told they were out of crab cakes and the macadamia fish. Thought that was strange as it was only 6. One of our 4 didn't care for the ribs as hers was over cooked. The meat pie and soup was very good. Family run business. Nosy atmosphere. Only a few tables so reservations a must!
We wanted to see a little of the Wildwoods and looked for a spot for lunch. JMH was a little more casual than what we expected but we had a nice lunch with good service.
Both the food and service were excellent. This restaurant will definitely become a staple for all return vacations to Wildwood.
This was my first visit, so I didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by our server and seated immediately. The lace is small, but decorated really cool; quite the island feel. Also, it's immaculate. The menu isn't very extensive, but still has something everyone can enjoy. My husband had the ribs, which were fabulous. I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich, it was delicious.
Highly recommend the crab bruschetta! Will definitely go back again:)
My son and I visited recently - picked it out as a reasonable dining experience. Arrived right on time (6pm), were seated in the back of the restaurant - which is fairly cozy - and then remarkably waited 20 minutes for anyone to talk to us. Mind you - 4 servers and 7 tables seated, including us. Huh? I was ready to leave, but a nice waitress (Romanian exchange visa) asked if we had been helped, and then took over. Everything went very well after that - food was very good (except coleslaw was warm...). One other issue - didn't know it was BYOB - but wasn't drinking so it didn't matter - but if you want a brew with your ribs - better bring it.
Had a nice dinner at this place
All the food was amazing!! Try the ribs!!
A really cute, clean place with great music. The waitress was great and we met the owner. It was kid friendly. They have a great selection and the food was out of this world. Ask them about their coffee mug deal! A+ will return!
What a treat. Fresh food and smiling friendly servers. Loved my dinner.
