The veggie enchiladas were really good and the veggies were fresh. The rice and beans were also really good. My friend also enjoyed her enchiladas. The service was quick and the waitress was very attentive.
First time visiting Jalapeno's, most likely won't visit any time soon. Food was decent, as was the service. However, with so many choices of where to dine nearby, restaurants need to do more to earn repeat visits. Overall, OK, not great.
The service was good and the people were friendly, but the food was bland, not fresh, and overall disappointing. The interior was a mishmash of bad pastel colors, plastic flower boxes, large bulky furniture, topped off with bad lighting. This places needs to seriously remodel and reinvent its menu.
We sat at the bar and the bartender was not attentive, we were charged for things that didn't arrive
Stopped in on a quiet Friday night. Food and service were very good, nice local option, think the tequila selection is the big selling point. Hostess seemed a little lost in her cell phone but just one of those things.
The food and drinks were excellent! Everyone enjoyed their meal and had a good time. Would definitely go back.
Sorry to say that over the past few years the quality of the food has gone downhill. The last three times we went ...the food was disappointing. Too bad...we used to love it.
Great Mexican food, great margaritas, great bar with several TVs. A fun place to go to
The food was amazing! My husband and I are great fans of Hispanic food and this place it's truly authentic! The Fajitas are to die for!!
Hubby and I decided to pop in here. We like earlier dining, so 6 pm start. Already getting busier, but service was terrific. Margarita pours are generous and mixed right--not lollipop sweet. Food is terrific and there are absolutely authentic choices, as well as some fun Tex Mex. highly recommend the puerco con salsa verde. Tacos were terrific, too! Such a happy belly! We will bring our little guy with us next time!
Always a great Mexican meal. Make sure you order the Patron Margarita, its worth a couple of extra dollars over the standard margarita.
My first visit, but good, friendly service. The salsa has a bit of a kick! We ate a very early dinner, so harder to comment on crowd, noise, etc. but a very good meal and experience.
Food was really good, loved the atmosphere had great service and the plantains for dessert were the best!
Consistently good food! The floors (carpeted) could use replacing (with tile or hardwood).
Completely Unimpressed. Chicken enchilada suiza totally lacked flavor & had very little sauce to make up for the bland chicken inside. Rice & Beans, bland. Best part of dinner were the drinks (perfect amount of alcohol!) & the salsa (or pico) was good (though the chips were seriously sub par for an "authentic Mexican restaurant"). I've heard people say this place was sooo good.... I have no idea what they're referring to. Would only go back for drinks at the bar.
We love this restaurant. Good food, great service, fantastic value.
Consistently great food! Fun atmosphere! Excellent place to bring the whole family!
Jalapeno's has become our favourite for Mexican food. The house margarita is not too sweet with a good kick. The food comes on hot plates and is flavourful and fresh. I've had some awful chili rellenos but Jalapeno's does them right. The enchiladas are tasty with the right amount of delicious sauce and not mushy. There's a good variety which makes you want to go back, again and again, to try something new. Great place!
Outstanding, authentic, quality and generous Mexican food.
The two stars for service is not a result of a poor experience with our server. He was wonderful, very charismatic and engaging. We have eaten at jalapeños many times over the past several years. We were there for almost 2 hours, for two orders of chicken fajitas and one order of a chicken quesadilla, and it was by no means busy. Due to dietary restrictions, one member of our party requested his dinner be served with out rice or sour cream. Both came with his dinner. Simple, should have been an easy request. We were also charged for orders of guacamole which we never ordered, smart to check one's bill before paying I guess ...
This place is a go to for our family, really good food at a reasonable price. And the booze is great too!
The enchiladas poblanas dish is consistently delicious!
Family friendly restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The fajitas are delicious.
Always friendly and attentive wait staff. Consistently good food.
Food wasn't great. Salsa was difficult to eat/retrieve from the bowl. Pork dish was dry and came chopped in marble sized nuggets which was odd.
My wife and I took a friend to Jalapenos and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a varied menu, and every choice is a good one.
The food wasn't appealing and it was cold. The server wasn't attentive, only saw him when we asked for the bill. There were only two customers at the restaurant at the time, therefore, there was no reason for such poor service. With all due respect, we will never be back; not a good experience overall.
When I made reservations for a family celebration dinner I was not expecting to be seated in the bar area next to the pool table and a foot away from the point of sale machine when tables were available in the dining room. I asked if there was something else available and they were not able to accommodate. Otherwise, our server was great.
This most recent trip to jalapeños was average. I think their claim to fame should be there homemade salsa, that is very delicious and very fresh. My chicken quesadillas were somewhat bland this time. More importantly, I ordered a frozen margarita with salt and it tasted like flavored water. When we mentioned something later on, we were told that the machine used to make frozen margaritas did not do a very good job. Why then are they selling frozen margaritas?
Always a great place to go for Mexican food, or to catch a game in the bar.
This is our go to place for meals out in Walpole, absolutely love it!
Terrific Mexican Food. All of your favorites are on this menu and served with a smile in this family owned restaurant Two seating areas. A smaller one facing the street and then a much larger one with a bar in the back. Plenty of parking in the rear parking lot and also on the street. It does get busy, so use Open Table for a reservation.
Jalapenos has great Mexican food, the daily specials are always interesting, and the regular menu is varied and authentic Mexican. If you order a margarita, get the one made with Patron, it is so much better than the house margarita, for only a couple of dollars more.
Large drinks, chips and salsa were better than the rest of the food which was just average. Not bad, just not special.
The best Mexican food in the metro west area of Boston.
Waitress was helpful and pleasant food was excellent
We ate here on New Years Eve. It was fairly busy in the bar area but quiet in the front room. We have been here several times before, so we were really disappointed. Three out of our four meals were terrible. The chicken in my burrito had been grilled and charred, it tasted terrible. The beans and cheese appeared to have been frozen first, they were melded together in a most unappetizing way. My son ordered fajitas and they never brought out the tortillas to put the meat and vegetables in. We ordered guacamole as a side but the waitress never brought it until we asked twice and then she brought a small plastic cup of it which equated to about two tablespoons. Overall it was terrible and we won't be back.
the best word to describe my experience at Jalapenos is mediocre. food was bland, chips a bit greasy, and service (considering the minimal number of diners) was pretty slow. on the other hand, I loved the barebones salsa... fresh & tasty! There were even out of my favorite beer which they proudly promote. i'm still searching for a go to Mexican restaurant. This one was not it.
We love Jalepeno's. We're never disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!
This was our first and probably last visit to Jalapeno's Grill. We had high hopes, Jalapeno's has a lot of curb appeal in downtown Walpole with a cute Mexican themed interior and a varied menu! Our food was okay, lots of salsa verde and cheese going on, not the best Mexican we've had, the desserts looked like they were thawed from the freezer. What really turned us off was the feeling of being rushed throughout our meal. The check arrived along with dessert. Thanks, we got the message!
