Dinner was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the appetizers as well. Room was very noisy but that might be due to the fact that it was a very busy Friday night and prime dinner time. Server was very friendly and cheerful and food arrived promptly.
The server was awful, I will not plan returning any time soon. The server was Conner and he should really be working at McDonalds and not Jakes. He was more worried about the larger tables and the tips. Sadly, I still paid him 20% anyway. Very disappointing!
Best steak in Billings! Do eat Jake’s Great Filet - amazeballs!
It was my birthday and I had the honor of being escorted by clients. Prior to seating Peter came out and visited with us as we waited to get the table ready. He was the manager on duty and I know he didn't need to do that but he went out of his way to make us feel special. Upon seating the service was second to none with the waitress always checking for beverages, appetizers, deserts, etc. Although pricey, the meal was of the highest quality. I had the prime rib and it was cooked just the way I wanted it. I don't think I have ever had a meal that tasted better. My hat is off to the crew at Jakes for a wonderful dining experience.
Steak was good, but I wouldn’t say great. Overall satisfied
Quite possibly the best service I have ever experienced! Food was just as outstanding! Well done in every aspect Jakes.
I arrived a few minutes before my reservation. The hostess was on the telephone and there was a large party waiting who did not have a reservation. I moved to stand so that when she was off the phone I could let her know I had arrived, but when she hung up the phone she just walked away not even acknowledging I was there. When she returned the manager and another hostess were with her. Neither acknowledge me. I understand they were trying to accommodate the party behind me, however to be standing not a foot away and not even look at me was odd. They all walked away again. When the two hostesses finally returned the first one walked around me to attend to something else, the other finally looked at me and although it seemed to pain her asked if I had been helped. I replied no I haven't and she said, "What?", so I repeated myself and was finally shown to my table. The service the rest of the evening was wonderful, our waitress was nice, attentive and knowledgeable. I have until that evening only eaten at Jake's for lunch, and for the prices on the dinner menu was expecting incredible food. My experience was that the food was just okay, nothing really of note or exciting. Even dessert was just alright. I believe I will keep this as an occasional lunch spot as the food I have had from the lunch menu is always good, nothing incredible but at lunch I don't expect incredible.
I don't believe we have ever had a bad experience at Jake's. Always great service, always great food, always great dessert!!
I am not a complainer but since you asked for my feedback I will share some. I came for prime rib and it was a disappointment. I asked for medium rare and what I received was medium well. Jake’s opens at five, I was there at 5:30 thought it would be fresh but It tasted like it been sitting in a warmer for several hours. The rest of the meal was good and the server was great but I came for prime rib.
Decent food and good service. Patrons were obnoxiously loud with poor manners for it being a nice restaurant.
Great service with attentive staff. But my first plate was served with “refrigerator cool” prime rib. The staff addressed the issue promptly and courteously but the second plate was cool with a under cooked baked potatoe. I didn’t feel up to a third attempt so we finished up and moved on.
We loved it! Great food, attentive service.
Our server was great, the Sav Blanc glass was great, Jake's Chicken hit the spot but the chicken itself could've used a bit more seasoning. Kinda loud but I expected that (dining section). Overall I'll def be back!
Our appetizers and wine were delicious! Our steaks weren’t as tender as we would have liked but overall great restaurant!
Had my first meal in Billings at Jakes after my interview at St V. Now moving to NC. My last meal in Billings at Jakes
Good meal. Good service. Altogether very nice. As always
Good as always, but it would be nice to see more lower fat, healthy options.
Greeters were very friendly, decently quick service at the bar while we waited for our table. Table was ready right on time. Our server didn’t introduce herself and was a tad awkward. She got our order correct and refilled drinks quickly. Decent food, although my date found a hair in his horseradish. His meal was comped (as it should be), but overall the awkward service and hair-finding put a damper on the night.
Loved the shrimp scampi - not loaded w/ cream. Pear parfait was excellent. Relaxed, comfortable dining area.
Coconut shrimp was very tasty and was served well before the entree. Ribeye was cooked to medium rare perfection. Service was excellent.
Food and service were great. Had to wait a little while on the entree but the desert more than made up for the delay.
Our ANNIVERSARY was great and I am glad I chose this restaurant to celebrate it at. My wine bottle was on the table upon arrival as requested and from there my man KLAY with the "K" was just an awesome host and waiter we are so glad we got his section. If we are in the area we will surly dine again with you all.
My family has enjoyed Jake's for years. We hope to for many more!
The downtown Jake's is one of our favorite places to eat. We usually have the coconut shrimp, which are delicious. This time I had the salmon, and it was perfect. Service is always top notch there, and makes for a special evening.
Always good food and atmosphere. Love the colossal shrimp!
Very disappointing, especially considering past good experience. Good waitress. Salmon was very dry and salty. Took a long time for food to come.
We truly enjoyed the food and the drinks and the service. John was an excellent waiter. We will be back.
Excellent food and wait staff (especially Pete Taylor).
Nice ambiance although noise level is considerable when restaurant is full.
Party of 6. Had reservations. The BEST part of the meal were the salads. Wait staff brought our meals out in stages....and there was an EXTRA long wait for the food ordered by the only minority in our party. ☹. Our "Top shelf " drinks were watered down. One person in our party ordered "Shrimp scampi" pasta that only had THREE shrimp in it. Noodles had nothing on them but butter. No other sauce at all. Really dry & bland. The baseball steak was not tender. The asparagus that came with the steak was BURNED. (Very obvious that the asparagus was burned) When we told the wait staff they did nothing but remove it. The wait staff did not check in with us throughout our meal...had we not been the ones to initiate our displeasure with the burned vegetables, they would not have known. We gave a 25% tip in cash despite our experience. (Not laying the entire blame on the wait staff.) We flew in to Montana for the holidays and we were told Jake's was THE place....sooooo disappointed.
Great food and staff. Had a hell of a steak and wife was equally satisfied.
Jake’s was a great place to have a Business a small business get together for about eight people the food was great and the service was great alsot
Excellent food and service. Will come back for sure.
Great food and great service
Food was excellent. Service is always excellent. Jake's has the best Prime Rib I have found in Montana.
I found Jake's through a Google search for family restaurants. While the service was nice, the decor lovely, and I was completely enchanted by the historical building, the food was very expensive and not that great. It was fine, but not worth the price tag. It was not very family friendly, I felt very out of place bringing my children but the kids menu did have good prices. Overall, it was fine dinner, but not what I expected for the high prices. I would not bring my family back there.
Great food and great service. We had several people who were new to Billings and they were very impressed.
Poor service, missed a course, inattentive, mediocre product. Completely underwhelmed
I came with a party of 7. We were seated quickly as I made a reservation, but it went downhill from there. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to come and the waitress tried to justify it by saying that they had a lot of ingredients, and it took the bartender longer to mix them. But, some of us only had a glass of wine or a soda! Then when our entrees finally arrived (an hour later) some of them were cold. Jake's tries to market itself as a high end steakhouse, but the entire staff would do well to shadow an establishment like Morton's or Shanahan's to learn how a real steakhouse runs. I was, overall, disappointed with our experience. I was in town for business but do not anticipate returning.
Very busy night with conventions in town but they got us right in with our reservations. Food was delicious and service was spot on. Great experience and highly recommended.
Great food and great service. It was nice for our 30th anniversary.
