Great meal, awesome service as always.
We come to Jakes every Valentine’s Day weekend and this year was disappointing. We got there an hour before the kitchen closed, I ordered a sirloin medium well and it came out very well, dry, and my baked potato was still hard. My dad ordered a prime rib medium rare and it was cooked medium well and was the thinnest prime rib I have ever seen. We really look forward to our yearly ritual, but this visit was less than satisfactory.
Mussels appetizer was not great. The tick cream based sauce doesn’t mask the essence of frozen mussels. I followed that up with the buffalo chicken salad which was on the disappointing side. Was smothered in to much dressing. Next time I won’t order either of those things.
This is our special place. Our 1st date night was 8 years ago at Jake's, so we try to make it to Jakes around the same time every year. The food is great and service is always top notch! We appreciate the hospitality!
The food lacked flavor, crab was “fishy” and service was subpar. Will be a long time before we return to Jakes.
We had the Valentine meal, it was good except for the chewy steak
My husband and I had been to Jakes a couple of times over 20 years ago and were back in the area so we had to come back. We were not disappointed. Just as good as we remembered it!
I appreciated the friendly service and being tended to throughout our meal.
Service and food fantastic. I left a debit card on the table, my waiter found me and returned to the motel down the street. Food was great. Drinks also can't be beat.
Love dining here. Six of us went for my husband's birthday, and everyone liked their meals! My favorite is the coconut shrimp. The dip has changed, and I prefer the old version. However, my husband likes the new spicier version!
Met my kids there for dinner. Enjoyed the evening
Relaxing and comfortable with dim lights and beautiful classic decor. We would return again and again. Prime Rib very flavorful, and the butter cake so rich but worth every bite!
The only thing I would improve is the bread. As the first course served, it was also our first impression. It was bland and not up to the standard of the rest of the meal. I always order the charred Ribeye, and my husband, the Coconut Shrimp. Both were simply amazing! I relish the table set-up, the service, the ambiance - everything! Eating at Jake's is an experience I look forward to. I love how they provide the best service without imposing on your date. No doubt, our favorite place to eat in Billings.
This was our first time to Jakes being new to the area. Food was good and server was friendly.
Only complaint would be the table we sat at was tight to a wall to once you were in your not getting out and the water shelf felt like it was right against my shoulder. A little disturbing with wait staff grabbing the water off the shelf all the time.
My wife and I went to Jake's during restaurant week. We each ordered items from the special menu. She liked the Phily Cheese Steak soup, my salad was pretty mediocre. Her bacon wrapped scallops were not done properly. The bacon had not been pre-cooked at all so it was only about half done. The scallops themselves were just okay. I had tenderloin medallions which were quite good. She had cheesecake for dessert and it was worse than disapppointing. It was a no-bake cheesecake. Really? A restaurant that wants to pass itself off as close to fine dining serves no-bake cheesecake? The pastry chef needs to find another line of work. It has been at least 10 years since we've eaten at Jake's and this was likely the last time. The service was very good and it was reasonably quiet.
Always top shelf....never been disappointed....many years keep coming back to Jake's
Great steaks and service.
Excellent food and service. Steaks cooked perfectly!
The atmosphere was great. Great hostess, and service was prompt, although our server seemed like she could have been more knowledgeable about the menu.
Food was ok....not great. For the premium price they are asking, I expected great. I didn't get it.
We ate in the dining room, and there is an adjacent bar just outside of the formal area. I think stopping in for a beer and appetizer would be much more pleasurable than dropping close to $100 for a subpar dining experience.
Great food and service was great. Will go there again when I come through Billings.
The food was amazing, the service great and the building was fun.
Our waitress was outstanding! And so was the chef. Really good steak.
Miranda was an excellent server! She was pleasant and made us laugh! Jake’s is lucky to have her!
Food was frwst
Nice restaurant, great service, not the best steak I’ve ever had, but a good one....it’s a little noisy but you can carry on a conversation.
Excellent food! This restaurant is a bit pricey but the food was delicious.
Wonderful food and great service. We really enjoyed our meal in Billings, Montana. Steaks, of course, were superb.
If you can fit it in to your schedule, James is the place to dine. Food is always great and service is superb. Never disappoints.
Best food in Billings. Always consistent, and offering decent specials. Great steaks and seafood. Has it all.
Everything about Jakes was just great. Had the salmon and calilini with a delicious house salad. Very nice wine selection, excellent food and great atmosphere. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Wonderful ambiance! Service and food were extremely good!!!
We sat at a round table with 7 of us. We could hear each other well enough to carry on conversations. The food was excellent as was the staff. The cost of the meal was very reasonable.
Great steaks and food. We visit every year as we pass through Billings. We love it!
Great food, great service!
Awesome Sauce 👏
Awesome meal - first time in Montana and our fly fishing guide suggested Jakes - he was spot on. Very cool place and one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Friendly service and quite quick despite being very busy - even though the staff looked like it was a normal size crowd - they handled it well it seemed. I loved this place and if I ever go back I’ll be sure to stop in again. Keep up the great work !
The food was delicious, the salad fresh and the wine by the glass was a very fair pour. The "baseball "top round steak, with baked potato, salad and a good red wine is terrific.
This place is highly overrated--we selected this for dinner based on the reviews and also two suggestions from others. We spent a week in Billings while my Dad was recovering from open heart surgery, so we were able to experience numerous dining options and were happy with each of our selections except for this place. The food was mediocre and the service was poor. For example, the hostess showed us to our table and then departed before we were even seated or telling us who are server would be. When they brought the entrees, they sat them down and walked away without saying a word or asking if there was anything else we needed (there was, since they forgot the oscar topping on my husband's steak, which they brought out about 5 minutes later.)
Very prompt service and noise level very good and not disruptive. Also, the waiter did not interrupt conversations to ask about the food, etc.
