Started out at Jake’s several years ago with a great dinner and a Watermelon Jalapeño Cosmo that was to die for. This was a breakfast event while here in Palm Springs, and it was excellent, too. It’s a little loud but a lot “happy” and we’ll go back again...and again!
Had Sunday brunch the last day of the season before they close for the summer. Great food & service as always. Can't wait for them to return in September. This is our favorite restaurant in Palm Springs.
Very nice courtyard patio for warm summer evening dinner. Great food, interesting wines and cocktails!
Best ribs in the valley. True story.
We will miss Jake's for the summer, and we are already eager for its opening in the fall. Indeed, we deliberately planned to dine there just before they went on summer holiday. Good choice! A great time was had by all. "See you soon, Jakes; we can't wait!"
Excellent service, martini and food, as always!
Jake’s just never disappoints! This small eatery serves up big flavors with style and a smile.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch- for me it was a glass of glass of Pinot Grigio and the three egg breakfast (eggs are cooked any style with a vast choice of bacon or sausage, delicious grilled bread and fresh fruit) for my dining companion, it was the shrimp salad with a lovely, light and tangy dressing and a Bloody Mary. We attempted to split the vanilla cake with Carmel and sea salt...and made a pretty good dent in this delicious dessert but fell short because the slice was just enormous. Will return again and again anytime for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Food was great and the service was even better! Must get a slice of cake!
Going to miss Jakes through the summer can’t wait until they come back for the season.
Great night out with my wife! My birthday.
Entire staff was great
Great service and people
Food was good except for an incredibly bad calamari appetizer. Meyer Lemon cake for dessert made up for prior sin.
As always, an absolutely wonderful meal & dining experience. A real gem.
Had the restaurant week lunch menu and picked the crab cake which was very yummie and the turkey sandwich which was nothing special. Took home a sea salt caramel cupcake and it was very good. Dinner is probably better. Been there once and probably won’t go back, just wanted to try it.
jakes is a PS must. super nice, they accommodated a last min stroller addition without any hesitation. the food was really good and the deserts!!!
Jake’s is in a lovely setting. The menu is very diversified. This was only the second time I was there, and both times the food was excellent. The Bloody Mary’s were delicious and completed our meal.
Our waiter was very attentive. Lovely day, excellent food and service. Couldn’t ask for more.
Very disappointing night!I was super excited to go to jakes for my birthday, do I took the 9pm reservation. When we arrived all was good. Loved the patio and ambience, beautiful evening. Unfortunately that was the best part. It seemed like they were under staffed and the service was slow. That was ok at first because we were looking for a relaxing evening. The cocktails were good. But the slow service became a bit of an annoyance when everything took forever! While waiting for our food I asked for more rolls. When he came back he said “ sorry we only have 4 left” (we were a party of 5) I thought he was joking, he was not. Our dinner finally arrived and I ordered a filet cooked medium. It was disgusting! It was rare and looked like a fatty piece of meat that had been cut into multiple times. The other diners food was ok. Then when she took our dessert order she let us know they were out of ALL the pies except the chocolate and it was an additional $2 upcharge if you ordered it. Really? As I said very disappointed!
Best food I’ve had in Palm Springs in a long time.
Jake's is Palm Springs little gem. The service is amazing (thanks Ashley), cocktails are made perfectly, food presented and prepared great and you are never rushed.
Love this place.
Consistently great food! Always!
Service very attentive !
Best food for the best price. Great atmosphere
Watermelon gazpacho was fantastic! the dates in the salad were a nice local touch.
The food and service are wonderful but the table is never ready when
The food was amazing and the desserts were the thing of dreams
A Restaurant Week visit to Jake’s has guaranteed it as a place for special meals in the future. Such lovely flavors! My favorites were the start and the finish: the fabulous watermelon gazpacho and the salted caramel cake. Everyone in our party loved their entrees. The service was relaxed and friendly, as if we were guests in a private home. The outdoor garden setting is lovely, though of course, on a 106-degree evening, even the misters didn’t prevent us from feeling over-warm. Next time, we will reserve early to get an inside table. It’s a small venue, so the noise level was a little higher than we’d prefer, but not unbearable. The regular menu would definitely be pricey, as the two of us spent $99 just for Restaurant Week prices plus two glasses of wine and tip. One thing the ownership might consider is downsizing portions. The clientele they appeal to is more into their quality than quantity. I have a generous lunch waiting for me with my doggie bags of chicken Marsala and cake. We love this restaurant!
Always a good time and great food. Juan our waiter and bartender is always a pleasure.
We had great food, great service and the ambience was wonderful. The only thing that was wrong was the coffee, which we ordered with desert, but sent it back. It was lukewarm and tasted like it came out of one of those machines that mixes that canned “coffee sludge” with hot water instead of properly brewed coffee. I don’t understand why good restaurants skimp on low quality coffee.
I love Jake’s and will go back. Just won’t have coffee. Maybe they make good tea.
Always a satisfying experience to dine at Jakes. Excellent food and attentive service. Certainly one of our Palm Springs favorites
Excellent dinner. I’ve never been disappointed. I love the fact that it is a smaller more intimate place for special occasions that allows quiet conversation.
Jake's is an excellent restaurant and worth the drive from Palm Desert. Food is always top notch. Casual atmosphere with a lovely outdoor patio. Even in the summer heat they have cooling outdoors so still all good. Their desserts are outrageous and a must have. Scallops and salmon were both delicious as was the ribs and the new york steak. You can't go wrong at Jake's.
One of the little gems of the desert. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Good food. Wonderful selection of desserts! Good value during Palm Springs Restaurant Week. Wish they could have given us inside seating since we had reservations and we were the second ones there when they opened. Outside seating was nice, but I would have preferred inside. It's a little precarious outside when the staff closes the outdoor umbrellas because things on top of the umbrellas may fall onto you or your food. Loved the Citrus Cake.
We've been to Jake's several times, but this was our first lunch (brunch, really) visit. Inviting and diverse menu, and the portions are very generous. The brunch atmosphere is very different from the "buzz" at dinner. Both are great, but truly different. Try it for yourself!
We had a terrific dinner. The Restaurant Week menu is amazing value. Great choices and those cakes for dessert are sooooo good. Great evening, thank you!!
Food is good (great desserts), servers were nice and accommodating, but the ambience is not great. Aisles are too small and I kept feeling that I had to move my chair every time someone tried to walk by. The sun from the window was in my eyes the entire time that I was there. All in all, Jake’s is a good restaurant; I just wish there was a little more room.
We ate inside because it was very warm outside. Nothing to write home about in terms of ambiance. Food was average. Service was great. We ate during restaurant week so value was good.
Couldn’t get any better.
Our evening at Jake’s was perfect in every way. Truly outstanding service, and the cake is beyond description. Thanks to everyone for a lovely evening.
Jake's continues to be a favorite with all my friends and with me. See my other reviews on Jake's for details about the menu, but I'll just say here that while it might sound like things you find on other restaurant menus (e.g., Rueben Sandwich) Jake's gives them a twist that makes them "Jake's". Plus they have things you won't find elsewhere. The staff always makes us feel welcome. And the setting is lovely.
