Jake’s is in a lovely setting. The menu is very diversified. This was only the second time I was there, and both times the food was excellent. The Bloody Mary’s were delicious and completed our meal.
Our waiter was very attentive. Lovely day, excellent food and service. Couldn’t ask for more.
Very disappointing night!I was super excited to go to jakes for my birthday, do I took the 9pm reservation. When we arrived all was good. Loved the patio and ambience, beautiful evening. Unfortunately that was the best part. It seemed like they were under staffed and the service was slow. That was ok at first because we were looking for a relaxing evening. The cocktails were good. But the slow service became a bit of an annoyance when everything took forever! While waiting for our food I asked for more rolls. When he came back he said “ sorry we only have 4 left” (we were a party of 5) I thought he was joking, he was not. Our dinner finally arrived and I ordered a filet cooked medium. It was disgusting! It was rare and looked like a fatty piece of meat that had been cut into multiple times. The other diners food was ok. Then when she took our dessert order she let us know they were out of ALL the pies except the chocolate and it was an additional $2 upcharge if you ordered it. Really? As I said very disappointed!
Jake's is Palm Springs little gem. The service is amazing (thanks Ashley), cocktails are made perfectly, food presented and prepared great and you are never rushed.
Love this place.
Consistently great food! Always!
Service very attentive !
Best food for the best price. Great atmosphere
Watermelon gazpacho was fantastic! the dates in the salad were a nice local touch.
The food and service are wonderful but the table is never ready when
The food was amazing and the desserts were the thing of dreams
A Restaurant Week visit to Jake’s has guaranteed it as a place for special meals in the future. Such lovely flavors! My favorites were the start and the finish: the fabulous watermelon gazpacho and the salted caramel cake. Everyone in our party loved their entrees. The service was relaxed and friendly, as if we were guests in a private home. The outdoor garden setting is lovely, though of course, on a 106-degree evening, even the misters didn’t prevent us from feeling over-warm. Next time, we will reserve early to get an inside table. It’s a small venue, so the noise level was a little higher than we’d prefer, but not unbearable. The regular menu would definitely be pricey, as the two of us spent $99 just for Restaurant Week prices plus two glasses of wine and tip. One thing the ownership might consider is downsizing portions. The clientele they appeal to is more into their quality than quantity. I have a generous lunch waiting for me with my doggie bags of chicken Marsala and cake. We love this restaurant!
Always a good time and great food. Juan our waiter and bartender is always a pleasure.
We had great food, great service and the ambience was wonderful. The only thing that was wrong was the coffee, which we ordered with desert, but sent it back. It was lukewarm and tasted like it came out of one of those machines that mixes that canned “coffee sludge” with hot water instead of properly brewed coffee. I don’t understand why good restaurants skimp on low quality coffee.
I love Jake’s and will go back. Just won’t have coffee. Maybe they make good tea.
Always a satisfying experience to dine at Jakes. Excellent food and attentive service. Certainly one of our Palm Springs favorites
Excellent dinner. I’ve never been disappointed. I love the fact that it is a smaller more intimate place for special occasions that allows quiet conversation.
Jake's is an excellent restaurant and worth the drive from Palm Desert. Food is always top notch. Casual atmosphere with a lovely outdoor patio. Even in the summer heat they have cooling outdoors so still all good. Their desserts are outrageous and a must have. Scallops and salmon were both delicious as was the ribs and the new york steak. You can't go wrong at Jake's.
One of the little gems of the desert. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Good food. Wonderful selection of desserts! Good value during Palm Springs Restaurant Week. Wish they could have given us inside seating since we had reservations and we were the second ones there when they opened. Outside seating was nice, but I would have preferred inside. It's a little precarious outside when the staff closes the outdoor umbrellas because things on top of the umbrellas may fall onto you or your food. Loved the Citrus Cake.
We've been to Jake's several times, but this was our first lunch (brunch, really) visit. Inviting and diverse menu, and the portions are very generous. The brunch atmosphere is very different from the "buzz" at dinner. Both are great, but truly different. Try it for yourself!
We had a terrific dinner. The Restaurant Week menu is amazing value. Great choices and those cakes for dessert are sooooo good. Great evening, thank you!!
Food is good (great desserts), servers were nice and accommodating, but the ambience is not great. Aisles are too small and I kept feeling that I had to move my chair every time someone tried to walk by. The sun from the window was in my eyes the entire time that I was there. All in all, Jake’s is a good restaurant; I just wish there was a little more room.
We ate inside because it was very warm outside. Nothing to write home about in terms of ambiance. Food was average. Service was great. We ate during restaurant week so value was good.
Couldn’t get any better.
Our evening at Jake’s was perfect in every way. Truly outstanding service, and the cake is beyond description. Thanks to everyone for a lovely evening.
We really enjoyed our Restaurant Week dinner at Jake's. Even though the day's weather was quite warm, the courtyard was kept comfortable with umbrellas and misters. The food and service were top-notch. Jake's is a charming place for Palm Springs dining.
It was fabulous!
The crab BLT is the best thing ever! We come to Palm Springs and never not come to Jake’s! We always go for lunch to get a sandwich-it is the best.
Lively fun delicious. Great service. Hot day but not even noticed the patio is covered w shade and the misters kept it cool.
Perfect for brunch!
I go to Jake’s often, and recommend it frequently to out-of-towners because the food is always very good, and their 3-course offering is very reasonably priced. I went to dinner last Saturday night, which was the first weekend of PS Restaurant week. The restaurant delivered as usual. My only negative comment is the volume of the music; the restaurant space is compact to begin with, and the music (while energetic) is too high of a volume to held civil conversations at the table. Crank down the volume a bit and the Jake’s experience will even be better!
The food was beautifully served and delicious! The desserts were over the top! A beautiful dinner out with 6 friends!
Really good food and wefinally went on restaurant week which was a bonus. Food was well prepared with large portions. Do not miss desserts!
I will go back.
Consistently wonderful! Great quality food with excellent menu options. They take the time to make it a personable experience and have good attention to detail. My favorite restaurant.
Although we had a reservation we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait. Fantastic service and a great menu which made choosing difficult. Our waiter gave us honest recommendations including a suggestion for the following day. We were the last to leave but not made to feel we needed to rush. Thoroughly recommend.
Very nice dinner. Cocktails were great, as were lamb meatballs and gazpacho. Excellent main courses (ciappino and meat loaf). The desserts are oddly oversized but I did like the flight of sorbets (esp mango).
Jake's food is extraordinary. Beautifully presented. Our server was attentive and friendly. Jake's remains our favorite restaurant in Palm Springs.
Always a lovely experience.
I would suggest the Lunch menu get use some creative imagination.
Jake's open dining area provides a pleasant outdoor experience for dining. The patio is covered to block the harsh sun and it is surrounded by lush bushes and shrubs. It truly is delightful. The service is always attentive and the food excellent. It's one of my favorites in the desert.
Always great place for a meal with friends
We were introduced to Jake's by a local friend and have been making it a point to dine there at least once every trip! Many of the team have become like family!
Great little neighborhood restaurant with excellent food, reasonable prices, great desserts. The ambiance is good. They close for the summer months, which makes it even more enjoyable in season!
