Jake's Grill & Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
Always a fun time at Jakes! Service is always great, attention to detail is great. Food is always very good in every dish - except Fish and Chips which they tend to over cook. However, all shellfish and fresh fish is delectable! Happy hour specials - really are special!
My wife ordered a steak medium but it was served rare. The waitress took it back and had them cook it some more but it was then well -done and she found it unsatisfactory to eat. The manager came over and very graciously offered to make her something else, which he did at no charge. We've dined there a number of times and the food has always been great and we were extremely impressed by the customer service.
A great time was had by all. Our waitress was busy so a little grumpy but that was the first time I have ever encountered a waitress like that in my visit's to Jake's. We had too good of a time together to let her bring us down.
Food and Atmosphere are always great at Jake's.
I had the the Sirloin and Lobster tail dinner and the lobster was perfectly done. My 'medium' sirloin arrived 'rare' but it was still tasty. The sweet potato side dish was excellent. Our server was lively, pleasant and knowledgeable. It was my birthday and I got a free delicious dessert. Overall, it was a very pleasant dinner and I will certainly return. RubyP
Received a call a couple of hours before our reservations to confirm that we still wanted a patio table. The gentleman was very helpful.
Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Wasn't sure if the wine suggested so was offered a sample. Much appreciated. And it was good wine.
Food was good and didn't take a long time to get.
Would go back any time.
Salmon was way under cooked, almost soggy. Fish and chips were over cooked, Halibut was dry and batter was dark, chips were good. We had to wait for service a couple of times. They gave us a free dessert because of the raw salmon. Not impressed at all, probably won't go back or recommend
We frequent this restaurant fairly often and normally have had way better service. Tonight, we went to celebrate my birthday and had quite the opposite experience. We waited on plates for our apps, got dirty plates eventually, waited for our server for quite a while in between each table visit to order our next course, had to rely on three other servers to get our server on multiple occasions and waited quite a while to get our bill at the end of the night. It's a good thing the food is so good here, because as nice as our server may have been, the service was definitely lacking tonight. Could of done it faster myself (not a very busy night there, or section for that matter)!
First time there. We were convinced by the reviews and our craving for oysters and for seafood.
I'm not going to lie, when we pulled in, we started questioning our choice. It's attached to the Quality Inn, off the QEW.
Going inside, it was more casual than expected (nothing wrong with that!), but my wife felt a little over dressed.
Then the real good stuff happened. The server was amazing. She was very friendly and went over the oyster menu for us, explained the various sauces on the table and carefully went over the day's features. The wine list was solid and as a beer drinker, a few crafts were available.
The food was great and prices fair. We had a really good time and would return for sure!
