very pleased. food took a while to be delivered considering it wasn't very crowded. food came out warm, not hot. the delicious everything bread should have been soft and hot out of the oven but clearly it had been sitting for a while before being served. Overall good experience, I'd go back.
Love this restaurant, and I know places are having a difficult time under the circumstances. We ordered 2 apps and their everything bread and itwas forgotten until we mentioned it. Should have come or first. I ordered the gnocchi and small dish of 9 pieces of pasta for 18.00 is obscene.
We had an excellent time and the food was delicious! I love eating at Jake & Cooper’s! We’re moving out of state next week, and I really wanted to eat there before we left! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Best in Manayunk.
Really good food with fun atmosphere. More expensive than before pandemic but so nice to get out
We always enjoy the great food, beverages, and services we get when going to one of our favorite spots in Manayunk! There are some really great menu choices and we love the ambience of sitting outside and enjoying the early evenings. It is getting about time though that the portable heaters and such should be put in place as it got pretty chilly last evening and we had to retreat to the inside table to finish of our picking at the delicious cheese board which we washed down with our equally wonderful Vermentino and Verdicchio bone dry white wines! The bartender, I believe her name is Chloe, is a real pleasure and always goes out of her way to make us feel at home and like regulars. All and all one of the most consistent and pleasant dining experiences we have and always look forward to returning to.
We had a wonderful meal! Megan, our server. Was attentive, prompt and her suggestions were perfect. The Cherry Blossom and the Mango Whiskey Sour were delicious start to the evening-very well balanced cocktails. We shared an octopus salad, the tasty mushroom soup and a truly magnificent short rib entree.
This restaurant never disappoints!
Best waiter Michael!!
This is a standby for a quiet dinners with old friends. The wide, varied, and fairly priced wine list is the greatest strength of this place. The menu includes mostly standards, along with a scattering of less familiar dishes, and the kitchen seems to handle them well.
Service a little slow but nothing different from the majority of restaurants post COVID. Great food and atmosphere. Pleasant and friendly staff. Will keep going back
Excellent experience, great food!
On Main St in Manayunk this is a great place to eat and drink. We had specialty cocktails and their special bread is awesome! The chicken cobb salad was huge and tasty and my hangar steak was cooked perfectly to medium and was yummy!
I used to live in Manayunk and frequent this place. Don't think I've ever had a bad experience here. It's alway been very enjoyable. I have since moved, so it's been a long time since I was last here until last night, when I took my friend out for her birthday who lives nearby. There was somewhere else we originally wanted to go but they were closed for vacation so this was choice #2. Like I said it's been a while so I hoped it was still good. I have always secretly wondered when this place would start going downhill. Restaurants in this area tend to do great at first then eventually break your heart.
Not this place, they're still kicking butt! The everything bread was fantastic. The cheese place was devoured. The cobb salad had us wondering if we should order more to go for lunch the next day. Pizzas were hot and fresh from the brick oven and quite tasty. The service was friendly, attentive and everything came out in a timely fashion. They also had a band on the side alley playing with these pretty, whimsical lighting and picnic benches. It could get a little loud at times but overall it was a nice, ambient experience. Highly recommended!
Jake’s is always a pleasant dining experience and this visit was outstanding as previous visits!
The staff are warm; friendly and prompt! The food is consistently flavorful and delicious!
I always appreciate the cocktails and beer selections!
Very good food.
Really excellent service.
Wonderful place for lunch and catching up with old friends.
Fantastic meal with incredible service. The gazpacho soup was to die for. The hangar steak was cooked perfectly. The Parmesan fries and roasted carrots were perfect and so tasty!! Will definitely be back in the fall for the lamb shank!!
Jake’s and Cooper’s is always a great experience. The food is delicious and the service is attentive and friendly. One of my favorites in Manayunk!
First, this was not an easy time because of the new Philly shift with mask mandates and fairly new service staff. But the staff was kind, approachable and clearly doing their best.
The hanger steak and salads were great. It was clear that the business is so connected to the community as folks would walk up to chat with the service team.
They have added the tip into the cost of the meal, so that is nice to see that they are focused on staff recruitment.
This is a Manyunk institution ; very good food, just remember that you are dining in a whole new serving environment and have a glass of wine and relax.
Our waitress Ashley was very attentive and welcoming. Jake’s double burgers delicious as usual and gazpacho was excellent but $60 for lunch (for two)was a little steep (no drinks) for just a drop in lunch.
Had a great experience at Jake and Cooper’s. Everything we ordered was delicious - the drinks, shrimp dumplings, margherita pizza, and sweet corn ravioli were fantastic. The hostess was very kind and our server was attentive and helpful. If you plan to dine indoors make sure to bring your vaccination card. Will definitely be coming back!
The portions of small for the price I paid
Excellent meal! We couldn’t get over how great the food was and the bottle of wine we split was wonderful as well.
Pizza was really good. Can't wait to try other flavors.
Service was great. Food portion did not seem reasonable for the price ($18 gnocchi entree was very small).
Always a great experience. Love eating outdoor
Greatest service by Michael!
It was a birthday outing for my stepdad. I was wonderful. The food was amazing and the service phenomenal. Great time!!!!
The bathroom had a baby changing table In the ladies room but not one of the men’s room. What happens if your dad is taking his child to the bathroom to get changed? He hast to do it on the floor?
I’ve been to Jake’s and Cooper’s on multiple occasions and usually have an excellent experience in regards to food and service. However, I was disappointed this time with service > food. When we inquired about not including a specific cheese on our cheese plate due to an allergy in our party, we were told we could not make substitutions. However, we were not asking for a substitution. We wanted to make sure our friend was not exposed to an allergen. You can imagine our amazement when said cheese was on the plate. Secondly, we ordered desert and asked for a candle to be added to celebrate a special occasion. It was forgotten. Lastly, gratuity was automatically added which I thought was a bit offensive. I did not feel heard, respected or valued during this encounter.
Wonderful dinner with my wife and daughter!! So happy we finally returned after these crazy times and was reminded how terrific this long standing treasure is.
Our meal was perfect and the service was as well. We had a table right inside at the open window and enjoyed the jazz music while still being able to converse. We look forward to returning soon and often.
Food and wine, perfectly paired. Smaller menu is very good
Anniversary- nice service great atmosphere
So underrated! We got the shrimp dumplings, parm fries, and meatball pizza and everything was delicious. Our waitress Ashley was really sweet and the manager was super friendly. I will definitely be going back.
Best spot for a date night!!! Love the specialty wines.
Your hanger steak is always the best! Cooked a Perfect medium rare and Beautifully seared outside. The chimichurri sauce was fresh and delicious. Cheryl was a pleasant, efficient and friendly server.
Arriving we were greeted by a very friendly host who immediately showed us to our seats outside which were clean and ready for guests. Soon after our waitress greeted us with waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Over all, great first impressions. However, this impression changed once ordering. I ordered the octopus salad after asking the waitress a question regarding how it is cooked. She raves about how another guest shared it was cooked to perfection. I was excited to hear this review and moved forward with this light dinner option. Our meal was delivered by a food runner, and our server refilled our waters. She didn’t return until the “end of the meal.” Had she, I would have expressed that my octopus was not intact cooked to perfection. I ate the three fingerling potatoes, capers, and, and arugula that was one the plate. The dish was really well presented visually. However, I pushed the rubbery undercooked octopus to one side of the plate. When our waitress finally returned to see if we wanted to order dessert or get the check, she said “I guess you didn’t like the octopus.” I shared that I did not. It appeared as if she did not follow up with anyone else working in the restaurant and brought us our check. In addition to our food charges we also had a gratuity charge of 18% for two people at a table. This was a little surprising to see one bill. Overall, nice staff and ambiance, but I won’t be getting the octopus salad again in the future. I do wish that she had checked in with us during our meal so that my order could have been fixed or I could have ordered something else to eat while my party was eating. I have had some amazing experiences here in the past with the food, this may have been an off day ?
The service was excellent. Delicious cocktails and food!
It was a great night. The service was outstanding! The servers were attentive and had a incredible command of menu. They knew ever dish and were able to give me recommendations based on my tastes!
The food was cooked well, but largely flavorless. Reminiscent of good wedding cuisine. Wine was ok, but not stellar given the price and focus. Wait staff clearly wanted to be elsewhere doing something else. The real problem was the price - way too expensive for what it was and the attention given to it. There are way too many places in Philadelphia that are fabulous at the same price point. Definitely not planning to go back.
