Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar
We also feature more than 30 wines by the glass from around the world as well as 12 beers on tap, a seasonal cocktail menu and 2 wines on tap.
This is my favorite spot in Manayunk. Servers are always pleasant. Food is always fresh and delicious. Love the open front windows!
Food and service was excellent!!
The wine was better than the food, however, the food came out promptly.
Our go to spot in Manayunk. Great for before a show at the Grape as it is down the street. Awesome food, gracious service and nice atmosphere. The only thing I would add is live guitar music in the bar. We love this place.
We went for my cousin's birthday, and both the food and service were incredible. We loved every second of the experience!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to post about your experience. We really appreciate it!
I love Jakes, I frequent their happy hour at the bar weekly and the service is always amazing! The dinner service for restaurant week was quite a bit different. The server knocked a full glass of wine over during our appetizer, and never replaced it until we requested a new one when our entrees arrived which was welcomed with a face of utter shock and disbelief that it was owed to us given it was her mistake. The food was decent, nothing special and it didn't wow us. Portions were small, but that's a given since it's a promotional restaurant week menu.
Service was good but a little slow especially towards the end of the evening
We had an early Easter Sunday dinner at Jake’s and Cooper’s. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and we had a prime table near the open front window. The menu is fairly large with a nice variety. I started with tuna tartare followed by calves liver. Both were excellent. The cocktails were nicely prepared with generous pours. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but the quality of the food makes it worth the cost.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate it! I order the Tuna Tartare every time I dine here! Come back and see us again! We're doing a Homemade Pasta and Wine Night every Thursday for only $20. Thanks! Maureen
Went for Easter brunch. Great ambiance. Good deal on sangria and bottomless mimosas
Thank you for coming in! Glad you enjoyed it!
We went to Jake and Coopers during Manayunk Restaurant Week and had their prix fixe menu. It was delicious, and had carefully prepared dishes that didn't seem to have been cooked in quantity for the week. Great short ribs, delicious bronzini fillet, lovely reductions of fresh peas, and a small glass mason jar of cheesecake with caramelized carrot cake topping that was amazingly tasty.
Thank you so much for coming in and trying out our Restaurant Week menu! I am so happy that you enjoyed your experience with us! I will share your comments with the team! Hope to see you again soon! Thanks, Maureen.
I’d recommend for the pizza and apps. We ordered the Salmon medium rare and it came out well done—dry and almost inedible. The steak was cooked correctly, but the roasted vegetables had so much salt on them we pushed them to the side.
Jake’s has been outstanding in the past and I was upset about the drop.
Great ambiance, atmosphere, service and food. I will be returning soon!
Thank you so much! We look forward to it!- Maureen
Possibly best (classiest) place in Manayunk. Excellent attentive service. Wine carafe was a little slow to come out but not wo apology. Ordered pizza, cheese board, veg side, wine. Cheese board could use a bit more for the price. Veg side was excellent!
Thank you for taking the time to comment on us! We appreciate your feedback! The cheese board is going to get a little bit more love in the next month or so! Thanks again!
The best neighborhood spot for a wonderful meal and drinks!
Thank you so much Barry! We really appreciate it!
Always terrific. A regular spit for us. We're never disappointed
The food was quite under-flavoured, and the shrimp with salsa verde was overcooked. The cheese course was nice, but the servings were very, very small. Nice wine selection and good service though.
Great food, great service, great time with my family
Our wine (red flight) was not very enjoyable but the Mac and Cheese small plate and spicy meatballs were delicious!
First time eating here and would definitely come back again. The burger was phenomenal.
Thank you so much for taking time to post this! We appreciate it! - Maureen
Great happy hour!
The service here is outstanding and their wine list rocks, but the food is just meh - unless you have the pizza. I had carmelized salmon and that was it, a piece of salmon with no sides, saved for a few zucchini pieces underneath the fish. For $28 it was not good value.
We also ordered a cheese plate, which they need to rename to barely-any-cheese plate. It had one small square and a small triangle of cheese, two pieces of apple and that slightly-bigger-than-melba toast bread slices. A joke. It was like something your four-year-old would put together.
I would only go back to sit outside or at the bar to enjoy the excellent wait staff - shoutout to Audra! - but otherwise not much to recommend it.
Excellent food, efficient and pleasant service, laid back atmosphere. A great local place to get gourmet food without pretense
Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments!
I loved my dining experience. The table was spacious and the staff was very friendly. I had the short rib for dinner which was amazing but the starters were my favorite! I had the butternut squash Mac and cheese and the jumbo crab cake— both were so so amazing I can’t wait to come back
We really appreciate you taking the time to write these kind words! Much appreciated!
Jakes continues to impress on every level. From the oysters with an absolutely delicious minuet sauce, tuna tartare to the best burger in the City. Cannot say enough. Congrats to an exceptional operation.
Thank you so much for taking the time so post these kind words! Much appreciated!
Great atmosphere and excellent service by Audra made this a great dinner and date spot. Will certainly come here again!
Thank you so much for your comments and I will be sharing your words with Audra! Thank you!
The hostess and servers were quite nice but we were all very disappointed in the portion size of the food. Too expensive for what we had. Essentially breakfast. The side plate of gnocchi was good but again, ridiculous portion size. Four people: $150. Ridiculous. Also, it was very misleading about the mimosas. It would be have less expensive to have four drinks than unlimited. I can understand why the restaurant was essentially empty.
Attentive and friendly staff. Delicious food offerings (although somewhat small portions). A classy Manayunk dining establishment.
Food was excellent and our server, Joe, was very pleasant and attentive.
Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines . He was very friendly and made sure we had everything that was needed without disrupting our dinner. It was quiet and we enjoyed being able to talk and visit. Food was so very prepared and served!
I brought a job candidate to what I remembered was a wonderful restaurant. I was greeted in a lackluster way by a hostess who walked away when I came in without saying one moment, please; food came out at different times; a guest's medium well-done hamburger was bloody, and the waiter cleared plates before everyone was done. What should have been a relaxed, elegant dinner to fete an important guest was awkward and disappointing.
Food took a long time to come out
Wine list was amazing, 4 excellent glasses of wine. Food was excellent. Seafood special was superb and the short rib was a decent size. Cheese and charcuterie was good 2 and 2.
Sat in front next to the bar. A bit noisy on a Saturday night (to be expected) but still ok. Our waitress was very attentive but not intrusive and was able to answer all of our questions and even had a few recommendations for for us. Definitely try the chicken liver mousse appetizer and the cioppino entree special if its on the menu.
A long-time favorite for it's great food, casual sophistication and impeccable service!
Was and always will be one of my Philadelphia favorites! Have never had less than a superb meal. Drinks are always good and best calves liver anywhere!!
I love the food and service.
Jake's & Cooper continues to be one of my favorite restaurants to dine at in Manayunk! The Happy Hour From 4:30p-6:30p is still a great deal with: $5 house wines and selected cocktails and $3 select beers is wonderful! The food specials are priced $5-$10!
I appreciate the consistency with the full dinner menu items -the spicy meatballs; jumbo lump crab cake & pizzas still hit it out of the park every time! The wine choices are always pleasing as well.
Look out during the holidays for the 50% of gift certificates-I usually stock up and use them throughout the year!
Good service, but food was mediocre and very small quantities for the price
Cocktails and food are consistently good.
Our go-to special place. have taken friends and relatives.
