Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar is an innovative restaurant featuring New American cuisine for 30 years. Chef Bruce Cooper and his staff feature a classic approach to cuisine in a comfortable environment. Come try one of our wines from our Glass Wine Room at prices that are far below the industry mark up.

We always enjoy eating at Jakes.
The food is fresh and deliciously prepared.
They are also well able to accommodate gluten free eating.
(though no GF pizza)
The wine bar has a great selection.
And the atmosphere is warm and quiet enough to have a real conversation.
We ate here for my husbands birthday. We shared the short rib pizza as an appetizer - very good highly recommend! For entrees I had the crab cakes over spaghetti squash. The crab cakes were great but the spaghetti squash was overly mushy. He had the lamb shank. The side of Brussels sprouts were delicious. Happy hour menu daily.
My friend and I had a late dinner on new year's eve 2017. We had made reservations via Open Table, arrived on time, and were seated immediately in the dining room. Decorations were appropriate for new year (tasteful balloons & streamers); jazz music which was not overwhelming; overall festive but sophisticated ambiance. All tables were full - a busy night. She and I shared a bottle of wine from the wine list (a fairly good selection of fine wines) and also 3 small plates and a side. Crab cake was outstanding...mussels pretty good (served not quite warm enough & a couple were gritty, but overall were just fine). Service was absolutely excellent. Nice to celebrate new years in a casual but sophisticated atmosphere, quiet enough so that you could talk without wondering if you'd been heard over the music. Would recommend.
So pleased to see Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar back in business after last year's hiatus to renovate post-Manayunk Main Street flood. Jake's and Cooper's is our preferred Manayunk dining spot - good food, good wines by the class, good ambiance. It's a restaurant for grown-ups vs. the young-folks-bar scene in most of this neighborhood.
Brought a friend for dinner for her birthday. Had a wonderful meal and great time, as always. I love the understated sophistication of J&C's. Large, comfy booths, excellent service and always delicious food. My go-to place for a great meal and nice ambience!
We had a very enjoyable, leisurely brunch. The menu selections were interesting and varied. I had the crab cake Eggs Benedict, which was very good. The full bottle of champagne with juice Mimosa service was a great bargain.
We were disappointed. It was supposed to be a Tuscan specialty night and the "count" was rather full of himself. The food was also disappointing and the wine, the Tuscan specialty was good, but very expensive per glass. I could give the chef a few pointers. We have eaten in many parts of Italy and know good Italian food and this was a disappointment. Sorry to say this, but it used to be our "go to" place to eat in Manayunk, but they will have to do something to win us back. The high point was the lovely and gracious hostess, Marisol.
A friend and I had dinner here recently, on a Sunday night. The whole experience was exceptional: appetizer, wine, dinner and dessert. I had the crab cakes and they were perfect, as was the dessert of profiteroles. I dine here regularly and have never been disappointed. I find the ambience just right: elegant, understated, great lighting (especially in the bar area), roomy booths, timeless. I so wish there were more restaurants like this around!
We were there for dinner, not the wine bar. On a weekday evening other diners were sparse. The server was extremely nice but we had to chase her down to get the bill. The grilled octopus salad was delicious, and the choice of wines by the glass was unusually good. Definitely thumbs-up for the food.
The beer tasting option was very good for those of us who like beer. The white wine for the happy hour was OK, not fantastic. The pizza was disappointing. The halibut was a bit dry. They were patient with our toddler, however and those who had steak LOVED their steak. The carminiere wine offered for the steak was very good.
My partner and I went during restaurant week, so we had food from their fixed 3-course menu, each of which was paired with a beer to complement the course. There were two options for each course, so we tried both for the appetizer (a Brussels sprouts salad and sweet potato gnocchi) and the dessert (a key lime mousse with graham cracker ice cream and a fruit compote). All of those items were pretty amazing. We both had the same entree: a petite filet with a creamed corn. Even though the cook was slightly more than what I asked (I ordered medium and it was closer to medium well, or even well done), it was one of the most flavorful steaks I've had in quite some time. Also, the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. We certainly plan to revisit Jake and Cooper's soon!
