Very good food! Friendly staff. My son asked if we can go back tonight!
It was my 35th birthday. I am visiting Universal Studios Orlando from 1/18/2020 through 1/22/2020 and staying at the Loews Royal Pacific resort.
The food was very good! Ordered the soup, pretzel rods, Reuben split. The servers didn't rush us out, glad since we had to wait for our room
Food is overpriced, and not well seasoned. The hamburger I got had an underwhelming bun and overall flavor. It was ok at best.
Wonderful, hidden gem. Drinks and appetizer...yummy charcuterie board...attentive service.
Our server definitely was trying but service was ridiculously slow. Food was average. Desserts were awful. Drinks were good. You’re better off choosing any chain restaurant and taking your chances there.
Food very good but mashed potatoes had huge bits of unmashed potatoes in them.
Jake's American Bar is a fantastic restaurant for the food, ambience, and service. While I am certain any of the items on the menu would be a fine choice, the burgers are among the best on property and worth making a special trip. The decor has a very 1930's and 1940's South Pacific, Golden Age of Travel vibe. The 48-star American Flag, Jake's leather A-2 flight jacket, crusher cap and hula shirt are all nice finishing touches, as is the Grumman Albatross flying boat outside in the lagoon. Jake's American Bar gets my highest recommendation all around!
We were tired when we arrived for our reservation and a mix up in our check in, created a delay in us being escorted to our table. This did not put us in a good mood for our meal, but I must say that the team members did their best to make up for the mistake and were extremely attentive. Main dish was served before we had finished eating our appetizers, which was not appreciated. The food was good and we enjoyed it. The live music was very good. Overall ambiance was positive.
our granddaughters Birthdays
Better than average hotel food. Great theme, decor and ambiance. Delicious food. Excellent service. Comfortable and you will enjoy, but you will also pay. Better choice over Islands, which is right across the hall. Much, much better food at Jakes.
Stopped in here when we arrived on our trip as we were starving and didn't want to spend the time going to CityWalk. Place is nice and has good service but its typical overpriced resort food so don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
My family & I are in love with the pretzel rods there since we tried it years ago. It was the best pretzels we ever had and we’ve tasted many including in Germany. So happy our Peacekeeper waiter managed to get chef to make some for us as they said it was out that evening. That made our night! Turkey burger was good & sweet potato fries delicious. Please bring back sea bass on menu & keep making your amazing pretzels!
We actually almost cancelled our reservation cause we had a late lunch and weren’t hungry. But we ended up going anyway and split the short ribs. There was nothing left on our plate when we were done. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be returning again soon.
Our party of 5 had a reservation and was seated quickly, but in an unfortunate spot next to the jukebox and against the partition such that 2 of us had to watch our heads when taking seats and getting up again.
We enjoyed the pretzels but the dips were ordinary. Flatbread and tomato soup were quite good. Sweet potato fries were tasty.
Portions are very large for the price especially by Universal standards but it’s difficult to take a few random leftovers into a hotel room/on vacation.
Server was nice.
Gin and tonic was good but the Caribbean cocktail was not. Too much rum and fruity flavors. We joked that it was flammable.
Really good food however service was not great and some beers were not available.
Could have been better,
Abundance of food with your order. Food just ok. Service was really great. Nice atmosphere inside the Royal Pacific hotel.
Just wanted to appreciate the hospitality we received at Jake's American Bar. Very accommodating (and during a storm!), staff was lovely, and food was delicious. Love the presentation, especially drinks in a volcano container and on fire when served! Thank you for making our honeymoon special!
Service was wonderful. Food was below par. Pizza was doughy. I had the tomato mozzarella sandwich which was on such a thick bread you couldn’t even taste the inside. A pressed sandwich would be a much better idea. Salad was average. My husbands short ribs were ok, but potatoes were lumpy. With all the dining choices around here.... won’t be returning
The food alone makes it worthwhile to come here but the service will definitely keep you coming back. We had the pleasure of having our drinks mixed by Neptune/Stephanie one day and then Cida (I think her name was) another day--both extremely kind, patient and great at mixing a drink. We dined in with our server Irwin and he was extremely attentive, understanding and you can tell he is excellent at his job due to his ability to think ahead and be very accomodating. Thank you all for a very pleasant experience especially on the days where other elements were a bit trying.
Great service and nice ambience. Just very expensive which you kind of expect and the food was nothing special. The ribeye steak was quite fatty and the desserts looked defrosted. Ok if you want to stay in the hotel and don't mind paying over the odds.
A good burger and simple menu that will appeal to families. Nothing fancy in a good way-- casual. Homemade pretzels were very good appetizer. Better restaurant than our Universal guide book gave credit for. Above average service too.
The Best place for wings, burgers and drinks! The live music fro ERIC Von was awesome
Went twice for lunch in recent trip to Universal. Nice atmosphere and quiet escape from parks. The food was great except for the calamari that was over sslt
This was a great 1st night on vacation place for dinner. The wait staff was very good and the guitarist /singer was fantastic. We were celebrating my adult son's birthday and it was lots of fun!
On vacation. Food was very good . Cute place servers very
Several nice meals here. Food is great, especially tomato soup with cheese bread. Service was always great and guitarist they had on 5/18 was amazing
Nice place to hang out for a great meal!
Food Ok but room smelled very musty which was a distraction. Waitstaff Service was great though. Very attentive and upbeat.
Our server was ok. Didn’t check on us very often could have been spread thin. A manager began reprimanding a new employee directly behind us. We were so embarrassed for the employee that my husband asked them to move the conversation to a private area. The manager did come to apologize to us later. The food was delicious though.
Slow service. Had to send 2 cocktails back to bartender to re-make. Very good food preparation.
We were staying at the hotel and assumed that Jake’s, the hotels restaurant, would be great. We were wrong. The service staff was fine but the food was shockingly bad. My daughter ordered kid’s spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were mushy and smelled/tasted terrible. I had the steak flatbread pizza with meat that looked like/tasted like slices of steakums. My husband’s fish pita sandwich was a large chunk of deep fried fish sitting on a mini pita which was not at all the way it was described in the menu. But the worst was that out of four glasses of water, one of the glasses had water that was like drinking sea water. It was salty and smelled awful and was clearly unlike the others. We were disappointed by our meal and it really put us off from wanting to eat at any of the hotel restaurants.
Dined after the parks mid week. Restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded. Overall, food was decent , but the bar service was very slow. We received our first drink after our appetizer was served. Our waiter was very apologetic and comped the drinks, but it negatively impacted our experience.
Outstanding service and tasty food. Great drink bar.
Great food! Great drinks that actually had alcohol in them. And great service.
*My only complaint is that the music was not that great. I mean the guy went from doing a great cover of Bob Marley to a cover of Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. It was awful.
I would highly recommend Jake's if you can get an outdoor table. The atmosphere is lovely-- kind of tropical and peaceful. I made a reservation on Open Table weeks in advance and all that was available was 5 pm. But on the day of I was able to change it to basically anytime I wanted. It really wasn't busy. I got a fish dish, and it was delicious.
Great food and service , kids loved it. Menu to suit all tastes, they answered questions regarding an allergy quickly. Good value for the quality and quantity of food.
It was ok. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. Service was fine. I probably wouldn’t go back.
The food was great and the wait staff was attentive and friendly
The crawfish chowder is wonderful. Nice bar/restaurant to grab a bite before or after Universal. Great find, fast friendly service. Make a reservation during busy times.
