Very good late night spot. Drinks, burgers and fries hit the spot after traveling all day to Orlando. Excellent service and a very friendly wait staff made it a worthwhile visit.
Love the short ribs! The best I have ever had. So tender and delicious and the sides were great too. Wonderful server Phil-Up and friendly manager too!! A must visit restaurant on our next vacation!!!!
Nice hotel restaurant with good food & excellent service.
Friendly staff, good food, film characters around.
We had an excellent dinner and great service. The Mahi Mahi was excellent! We told them it was our anniversary when we made our reservation and they gave us a complimentary dessert. We would definitely go back.
They could really serve a better cut of Ribeye, maybe bone in...really disappointed. But, did have a Hamburger which was great
We stayed at the Royal Pacific hotel while visiting Universal Theme Park. We had lunch once and dinner once at Jake's. The menu has limited choices but everything we ordered were good and good valued. For the 3 of us we could easily fill up on 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. Service was quick and the wait staff was extremely nice. I would recommend Jake's gladly!
Server spent far more time talking to other staff than serving. Waited unreasonable amount of time for drinks and boxes for childrens desserts because they also took too long to come out. Wouldn't eat there again
They were very acommodating to my son and his food allergies.
The service was slow! The Mojito was bland and had no taste! Ordered the mozzarella tomato sandwich it came out on burnt bread and ice cold, it was supposed to be hot even though it doesn't say that on the menu. Fries were ice cold ended up sending them back. Had Caesar salad and watermelon and feta salad with grilled shrimp. Was basic nothing special. Manager did remove the sandwiches and the Mojito from the bill. Would probably not go back!
The food was delicious but our server was not great. The food runner spilled and broke the glass of my cocktail and no one came to get rid of the broken glass or even get rid of the excess drink. The replacement drink was way too strong for me and the manager wasn't very friendly after I had told the waitress I didn't want a replacement and why. Maybe this isn't the norm, but making us eat with broken glass everywhere was really uncomfortable. OK value, good food, mostly OK drinks (my first cocktail was great just not the second), but lousy service. Couldn't get more water to save my life. Also the singer was awful-way off key and doing terrible covers.
Good food and lefty was a great waiter. Food was enjoyable and reasonably priced
We went for convenience - yet the waitress seemed completely overwhelmed although the place was not full. Took forever to get menus, drinks shows up after food which took long (salad, chicken fingers, wings)
Food was great, dinner service itself was good. Handled food allergies well. We asked for the check to be split 2 ways, even marked what went on each check and it still took 3 tries
For dining within the parks, this restaurant was probably better than most options. The service was very slow the night we were there (from 6:00 to 7:45), but the restaurant was not particularly crowded. They forgot to bring out ice tea for two of us, and once we received them, they never offered a refill. I would not make a special trip to eat here, but I would recommend the restaurant to someone visiting the Universal Parks and staying at one of the park hotels.
Food was a bit on the bland side. Stop watering down your ranch dressing!
Very yummy! Great portion sizes too!
We stayed at the Loew's Royal Pacific for 3 days while we visited Universal Studios. The first night we went downstairs to Jake's because it was convenient and we were exhausted. We had a table near a waterfall and a couple of glasses of wine and relaxed. Our 2 girls (7 & 10) were completely satisfied with the children's menu selections and we were surprised at how delicious the food was! The waitress was fun and efficient and we liked our dinner so much we went back the next night. We sat inside and heard the whole story of how Jake's got its name (worth it just for that!) while enjoying a tropical drink and then another delicious dinner. We had lunch there yesterday before we left the property and the waitress brought my younger granddaughter a huge birthday cupcake (without being asked) and balloons for both girls. I would definitely return!
Our server, Fill-Up, was friendly, attentive and courteous.
We went to the restaurant upon checking into the hotel. The prices were reasonable but the food was not very good. My son ordered the crab cakes and they didn't seem fresh and were spicy. The waitress should have warned us. The service was slow but the waitress did stop by to let us know the kitchen was backed up.
We were thrilled we tried Jakes! Quiet, good food, accommodating and was great!
Our family dined at Jake's American Bar on 3/22/16. The service was very good but I thought the food could have been better. The vegetable lasagna was a small portion but somewhat tasty. My son had the fish fry which was very good.
We were guests at RPR and this was a very convenient dinner after a day at the parks.
The service was very very poor. We even tried to get help from a food runner who said he would tell our server who was never around. Since it is on site perhaps they assume people will eat there so customer service is not necessary. Will not ever dine with them again.
The menu is very limited and I found it hard to select something other than a hamburger which I didn't want. I had the short ribs which were good but fatty. It was nice eating outdoors and looking at the landscaping.
I think there are better places to eat in the area.
Good solid hotel pub/gastro pub. Nice atmosphere and more interesting menu than the usual.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was not goo especially for the price. The restaurant staff gave the table next to us the remote control to the TV and they turned the volume so high I couldn't carry on a conversation with the other diners with me. Will never go back there again.
Of all the restaurants in the Royal Pacific, Jake's was the best combination of variety with sensible menu prices. On two occasions, service was incredibly slow (the kitchen or waitstaff) but we'd give them a try again as there were many tasty options on the menu that we hadn't time to explore.
This lunch was prior to business conference. Ate here many times during conference. Excellent service. All staff were very attentive.
Jake's was an incredible find! The open table app was fast and easy to use. We were seated immediately. The food was outstanding. The service folks were very attentive, friendly and accommodating. All our requests were handled without question. In fact, my very tasty tomato soup came with a melted cheese doughnut thing that all of us at the table were nuts for. We asked our waitress, Sunny, if we could order it and she checked with the chef who was happy to make two more for us at a very minimal charge. Our food prepared thoughtfully and careful. Thanks Jake's!!
The wings were over salted with little taste other than pure salt. I literally ate only 4 wings due to it being late and needing to eat. Children's meals are pricey $12. They are 6.99 at most restaurants in the city walk, 8.50 at hard rock.
I had wanted to try Jake's for a while- especially after having dined at most of all the other restaurants at the Loew's Royal Pacific Hotel and attending a beer-tasting event through Jake's. There are still menu items I would like to go back to try, but the real draw for me is the theme and ambiance. Very reminiscent of the Adventurer's Club that used to be at Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney, you feel like you have stepped back in time to when exploration of exotic locations was the norm. Service was good and friendly.
Located conveniently at Lowes Royal Pacific and not fancy so it's good for after a day at the park. However, after the parks you're sure to be one thing; hungry. The service is incredibly slow. As in took 10 minutes to get a soft drink slow. The food is good but overpriced for what it is. I'll return but purely because it's convenient and I like their salads.
My family and I will be returning for the great food and service!
Not worth the money. Very disappointing. Wasted $160. This character breakfast was very disappointing, especially for the price. This was our first visit to Disney/Universal. This $160 could have been spent on MUCH, MUCH better things. Very disappointing. Would never do this again and would not recommend.
Had the character breakfast for our daughter's 3rd birthday. It was awesome!!! Good was delicious, service was great & the kids had a blast with the characters. We would definitely recommend!
We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was at Jake's. The calamari was excellent, as was the crawfish chowder! My only complaint would be that they do not serve bread. Our waitress was able to get some from the restaurant next door but it was not freshly made, just store-bought rolls.
Last night at Universal at the end August and decided on Jake's for dinner in our hotel. Sitting down I began looking around half expecting Indiana Jones to grab a seat at the bar. The service was outstanding: friendly and attentive. The food was excellent American fare. We had the soft pretzel twists for appetizers and burgers for the main course. Next time we visit we won't wait until the last night to eat here. I also took notice how great the service was toward a table of our fellow patrons who had with them three small children.
We ate here for the Minion Brunch and had an excellent time.
The service was great, the food was delicious, even the kids loved it. We had a great experience here and will return when back at Universal Studios Orlando area!
Food was just Ok. Service was disorganized. Ordered the cheese fries which are supposed to come with hamburger meat. Didn't come meat, told the waiter and then they just brought an bowl of hamburger meat to mix it in. Ordered the sampler beers, tried them and then he couldn't tell me which one it was. Like I said not horrible, but they're plenty of restaurants within walking distance that are a lot better for the same amount of money.
