So many food options....always great food!!!!
Fun atmosphere, great outdoor seating during the warm weather months.
Very noisy inside. Beautiful patio.
Service fair and food so-so
Jake O’Connor’s never disappoints! Our waiter was charming and just the right amount of attentive. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious.
Great choices from the menu and the food was delicious .
Average across the board. Not super busy but felt a bit rushed to order etc. menu has a wide selection with healthy options too.
The restaurant opened at 11; my reservation was for 11:30. The place was very empty except for a back room where a party was going on. I waited almost 5 mins for host to show up to seat me. (No one was around.) The server took my drink order and the bar tender abruptly plunked it down on the table on his way past to somewhere else. Food (fish and chips) was fine. Probably would not go back again.
Service incredibly slow my husband had corned beef and cabbage which was obviously a prepared meat that they simply heated. All on plate was cold. We sent that back came back Luke warm. My pot pie was ok but the puff pastry crust was not done. I did not eat that. Our server was ok but as soon as my husband sent his plate back to be heated server disappeared.
Took 40 minutes to get food and never even brought appetizer that was ordered. When food was brought out, we had to wait to ask for silverware.
St Pats Day and the place was jumping. Good food and good service. Fun time.
St Patrick’s day atmosphere and Irish fare did not disappoint!
I wanted Shepard's Pie, but didn't see it on the menu. Then I saw it on table behind us. You called it something else. Why? That's like calling a "burrito" a Mexican Roll. Why would anyone do that?
So, I had the Corned Beef sandwich, which was just ok.
Great ambiance; everything else OK
They offered a limited menu due to St. Paddy's weekend. Not a great selection of entrees. The Potato Soup was just average, Smoked Hog “Wings” were over-cooked. The live music was country... not sure why because it was a St. Paddy's weekend. They did play one Van Morrison song though.
First two items are not refreshing we’re out- maybe no longer on the menu?
No descent desserts- none that were on the dessert menu.
Probably won’t go back.
Waited half an hour for a table no one would serve us at the bar I had to get my own drinks which took 15 minutes. The food took 45 minutes to come to the table once we finally got one. Our drinks were poorly mixed and my food came out cold. 2 and a 1/2 hours for 2 drinks and dinner. I'll never go back!
Every time I order their world famous fish it is under cooked and I have to send it back. How hard is cooking it at the right oil temp and time??
Jake O'Connor's is one of my favorite places to eat for special occasions and it didn't disappoint me. Everything was perfect. I had the corned beef and cabbage which was delicious. Our table split the caramelized onions as an appetizer and they were also delicious. My sons ordered the potato soup and it looked so good I decided to order a cup too. It was as good as it looked. The ambience was perfect and the service was great.
Noise level was high and service could have been a tad better. I like this place a lot though. Neat atmosphere. Clean. Friendly. Great food, reasonably priced.
Fish and chips wasn’t good, quality, quantity and presentation not worth the cost. Impressed before but can’t recommemd now.’
I am not a regular so I was disappointed to learn that the lobster sandwich was no longer on the menu as that was what I wanted....The service by Alex was superb and my mussels were excellent.
Must have been a big run on food earlier. Many items were sold out. I was informed my order was not available after I finished my salad. Made for a long wait.
A little noisy, but expect that at an “Irish Pub”! Fish and chips excellent and highly recommended! Also great potato soup!
We decided to go here for Valentine’s Day, because we just wanted a casual night out to drink some Guinness and eat some good food. We have eaten here a few times in the past and knew it would be a good experience. Upon arriving, The place wasn’t very full, which was surprising because we expected more people to be there on Valentine’s Day, also, looking at the menu, we realized that the menu on OpenTable, their website, and the one in the restaurant, were all completely DIFFERENT. This was disappointing, to say the least, because the things we thought we could order weren’t even available. Our server, who was working her very first night that night did a wonderful job! She was friendly and attentive which was great! They do know how to do pour a Guinness and that was probably the best part of the night. The food was made mediocre at best. Which was unusual, because we have had better experiences in the past. One of the servers announced that the lamb shank, salmon, New York strip were not available. I found this surprising since it was Valentine’s Day. We ordered the crab and shrimp dip which was OK. The fish and chips was a nice portion, but tasted like it had been fried in old oil that needed to be changed. The shepherds pie tasted like sloppy Joe mix that had peas dumped into it topped with mashed potatoes on top, very sweet not savory, very bland. At the end of the night they did offer us an Irish coffee on the house for Valentine’s Day which was a nice touch. Neither one of us felt very good the rest of the night. Not sure we will go back to Jake’s, which is a bummer, because we used to enjoy the food there. It has really gone downhill.
Food was very good. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Got our drinks right away. Didn't get the food for another hour. Extremely loud. Reserved a table, got a high table by the bar. The food was good.
We have eaten at Jake's many times and will be coming back. It's one of two local restaurants we can count on for great food! The service was a little slow this time -- the place was jumping on this Friday night! This is a great pub atmosphere with the heavy oak trim, wood floors and heritage Irish pictures donning the walls. The lively furnishings seem to amplify the sound so it is a little loud. However, we've never been disappointed with the food!
It was a busy Saturday night. We were seated at the same time as another couple. We ordered right away. 45 minutes later, we had received NO FOOD, and the couple who was seated at the same time as we were, had already finished their food and gotten their check! We asked our waiter about the delay, and were told, "it's crazy busy tonight." THEN, a couple who was seated next to us, about 35 minutes into our sitting time, ordered and received their food BEFORE we were served. It was as though we were invisible. My partner had to go to the bar to get a refill on his water. We finally received our food....along with a "sorry". All I can say, is that this is unacceptable service. My partner asked if they had forgotten to place our order (which was nothing fancy...a chicken sandwich and a shepherd's pie), and was told "no", but it felt like a lie. Again, there was plenty of evidence that OTHER PEOPLE were ordering and receiving their food in a timely manner. I'm really disappointed; not just in the lack of service....but in the COVER UP OF SOMEONE'S MISTAKE, AND in the lack of doing something extra to try to make it right. The food (when it finally arrived) tasted OK.....but nothing to write home about. The whole experience left a BAD TASTE in both our mouths.
Was on a tight schedule so had 5:45 reservations and didn't get seated until 6. That was after pestering the host twice for a table..what's the point of having a reservation?
The only reason I didn’t give the overall rating a 5 was because of the noise level. The staff is wonderful, and gluten free and vegetarian options are on the menu as well as ‘pub food’.
enjoyed the corned beef, rye, and Guinness! friendly and attentive service in the pub. i'll be back again and again no doubt
We were very impressed. Great food, wonderful server.
Initially, I was a little taken back that we were escorted to the basement but it turns out it was probably a more comfortable atmosphere for us.
Great atmosphere and excellent service and food. I’ll be back.
Great food, service, and live music! I will be back!!
Wonderful food. I will definitely be back! I had the chicken orecchiette pasta and it was fantastic!
A night at Jake O'Connors is always a good time. The food never disappoints and the servers are always friendly.
Been here several times for happy hour and drinks. This visit was for dinner, which was only ok. I had the reuben, which was pretty dry. Fish and chips were bland, and fries were a little cool. Great beer selection, and good for snacks...but passable for dinner.
Came on Saturday for lunch, only a few people there. Food was okay, server not very attentive even though there were only two other people dining.
It was a very festive atmosphere on a cool night. Hadn’t been there in a while and the food was as good as I remembered. Service was very good and it had snowed 2” when we came out to make it look like winter scene.
