Utterly dissapointed! As a food blogger and as someone who grew up in India, I am no novice to both, good Indian cuisine or good service. So nothing stands out more than a terrible dining experience. I was there on a Friday night with my family who was visiting from India and my boss who had never had Indian food before so I was excited to showcase Indian food in Chicago at what I thought was a reputable Indian restaurant. Not only was I wrong to think that I'm also embarrassed that this is how Indian food is represented in my city.

The food was terrible, the dal makhani was watered down, the Kerala fish curry was tasteless and the samosas overly spicy. The service added insult to injury, as our extremely rude and hasty server forgot half the things we asked for, didn't clear the table on time and couldn't spare time to even take our order before grabbing menus off our hands to go to the next table. So much so, at the end of dinner, he slammed the check on the table and didn't even stop to ask us if we wanted dessert.

The plates were not cleaned off on time, leaving us to eat with a pile or dirty plates next to us the whole time, on their miniature sized tables that barely have any surface space. The lighting is so dim you can't even read the menus and the restaurant is loud and crammed with too many tables.

The prices re a rip off; $200 for an unpalatable meal and service that makes you feel bad about yourself. I feel like my next stop should be the Better Business Bureau.

So, so disappointed and upset to spend my time and money on this kind of an experience.

Went there for a Birthday and the service was terrible. The servers were never around, the only time we spoke was when we ordered and then they disappeared. We ordered the special drink of the day which was a Moscow Mule but it tasted terrible. I've been a bartender for 5 years and that drink was closer to a Margarita than anything (cheap sour mix or margarita mix). We had to send it back. When we got our bill, I noticed that they charged me for a different wine than I had ordered and which was more expensive than the one I actually ordered. I usually never have a problem with my bill but you should definitely check it if you dine here!

Good Indian food, nice staff in a busy part of the city. Can get noisy but the food is worth it.

Hostess was extremely rude. Greeted us with “yes?” Did not care that we had a reservation (and said so), then when asked about the location of the bathrooms she pointed to the wall behind her (blocking the view of the restaurant) and said “down the hall.” I looked around, seeing no hall. “Down which hall?” I asked. She sighed and rolled her eyes at me. “Down the hall.” She never did show us to the table — we just found the table with menus but no diners. Once the waiters figured out we were there, the service was attentive but the hostess really soured the whole experience.

I was disappointed in the lack of attention from the waitstaff. We specifically told our waiter that we were dining at Jaipur in preparation for travel to India and needed some guidance having never eaten Indian food before. That did not occur (and it wasn't that busy so it wasn't that he didn't have the time) so still dont know what to eat in India. A few dishes were very good though the Jaipur sampler appetizer was marginal. It was all served on one plate and again, no guidance so we couldn't pick out one from the other ( and they basically all tasted the same) Felt it was a bit pricey and didn't care for the fact the gratuity was already on the bill for a table of 5. Good location in West Loop, the room is attractive and it wasn't noisy.

the food was so subpar for the price they are charging. We ordered lamb kabob and it was super dry and could very well have been stale. The other appetizer we ordered was tawa shrimp and it was floating in oil without any flavor. Overall the waitress did a good job taking care of the table specially given we could see the place is understaffed for what it seemed like obvious owner's greed!

The food was great. Ask for extra spicy if you can handle it. The goat biriyani was not as good as I was expecting, but everything else was great.

We have always loved this restaurant and have come here for years. It seems that every time we come back, the prices are higher, but everything else remains the same. $19 for a basic Indian entree like chicken tikka korma is too much.

Food is excellent, like others said service leaves something to be desired and the prices are a touch high for what you get. However go with those expectations in mind and you will be highly satisfied.

Also if you have a later reservation be prepared to order quickly. We arrived at 8:25 for an 8:30 reservation, were sat and told the kitchen closed at 8:45...

Food is great and desserts are the best in west loop!

Perfect place to meet after work in the Loop before hopping a train home.

Friendly, attentive service. But the meal was flawed by every dish being really over cooked The tandoori mixed grill chicken was ok, but the rest was dried out to a crisp. Naan bread fine and tasty rice, but overall a disappointment.

We has a 9:15pm reservation when we arrived we were seated and told right away the kitchen was closing so we had to hurry ordering. I don't get why would you give a reservation at that time if the kitchen is closing. We ordered just 1 appetizer and 1 plate to share just to try it out. I have been in several restaurants with Indian food, this is eatable but nothing remarkable. I would never recommend this place

It was my second visit to Jaipur with family visiting Chicago. It was a great Sunday lunch. My niece raved about the Samosas :) --

Food here was excellent, very authentic. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses were quite tasty and flavorful. I will definitely come back. This place is better than some of the Indian restaurants on Devon Street.

Easily accommodated our party of 12 (which included two vegans and a vegetarian). Excellent dishes with fresh ingredients served by an attentive waitstaff.

Wonderful experience. Amazing food!! Wow. Loved miter paneer.

Great Indian food, best I've had in chicago, great service and staff

The service was extremely poor, they ran out of wine and liquor, the food was mediocre and worst of all, for a party of seven people, they could not prepare separate checks with tip included for each. Meal totals and tip had to be processed separately. Their payment system is well behind the times.

The host was very nice and wanted to seat us in the back (which we would have preferred), but another server quickly seated us in the front of the venue. That was the only knock on Jaipur. The appetizers came out much faster than expected and were excellent. Our entrees were served hot and fresh. I wouldn't say authentic Indian fare, but close. Our waitress was very attentive.

This restaurant all delivers - we sat outside and had fantastic service with a waiter who was helpful, funny and engaging. The food, as I expected it to be, was fantastic. I was a bit surprised at the mint chutney being as spicy as it was but then again I like spicy so I am not complaining. Would recommend this as a clear front runner for Indian cuisine in the city.

The food was really good. The veggie samosa not so good - it was a brown mush inside, however the outside was fine. Would try the lamb samosa next time. We had the lamb masala and saag paneer. Both excellent as was the naan. I ate the leftovers and they were even better than the first time. It was very hot inside. The water was not filtered. Bad taste. Also all my clothes, even the shorts I wore under my dress, reeked horribly after. Please ventilate better!

Very, very good food. The appetizer Bombay Bhel was awesome, and the Malai Kofta was the best I've ever had, and I've had lots. Service friendly, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!

One particular dish we had was not up to snuff and when I mentioned it they immediately took it off the bill (as they are supposed to in a restaurant) - overall outstanding taste and preparation on the other dishes.

This was my worst experience. We ordered Indian masala tea and it was so bad that we had to turn it back. There was no replacement no apology. Meal service was so so. I have to say good was standard ok. When we were paying we gave him the credit card. He came back and gave us the bill to sign. I checked everywhere I did not find the credit card. I asked him where is it. He said I gave you . I said no. He had kept the credit card in the back. Again no apology. I would never go to this restaurant .i have been there before and got good service but everything has gone bad.

I enjoyed it. Service was great and helpful.

Great food and ambiance

Took a friend to dinner to catch up; usually go to Hema's Kitchen, but decided to return to Jaipur for something different. REALLY, really great meal! He had chicken masala, and I had lamb rogan josh. We also had the garlic cheese naan and an order of the keema naan (with lamb). Definitely not on the menu for health-conscious individuals, but worth the splurge if you run the next day! The sauces were incredible and rich. Naan was the best I've ever had in Chicago. It was a bit odd that we were not served rice with the meal, although I am certain we could have ordered it; in India, rice would have been automatically part of the deal. Server was excellent, friendly, and informative. Checked on us, but was not obtrusive. An Indian friend from Mumbai who travels to Chicago frequently told me that Jaipur has the best Indian food in Chicago, and I agree, based on time spent in India. Top shelf cuisine!

Delicious Indian Food
The naan was perfect and the sauces and rice was the best!

Jaipur accommodated our large group with aplomb. Food was excellent, with some unusual options to sample. Service was attentive without being excessive. Only disappointment was that wine was not the greatest, but that is admittedly not their focus.

A return after four years was as delicious as we remembered. Only a few "issues" - background music unnecessarily loud... but was turned down twice on request. Also bill included 4 items never served... but were quickly removed when pointed out. and the waiter was very inaccurate about the sizes of certain dishes resulting in serious over ordering... which was costly and unhelpful. Will go again... but trust own judgement on how much to order!

Such a great spot - no matter if if you're a group of two or twenty! The food is fantastic and the decor is beautiful. I've gone on dates or in large groups and consistanly have a great experience.

Ours was a 16 people table.
We had reserved a week ago and even though we were late, they held the table for us.
We ordered lunch special which was brought to our table in a family style .
The food was delicious and very well priced.
Even first time indian food eaters enjoyed it a lot.

Took my parents and they loved it. We got there early and it was quiet. Started to get busy around 7:30.

Food was OK for me Great service. I was with a person who hadn't eaten much Indian before and he loved it

Jaipur has excellent Indian food. We tried the Chickn 97 that was a bit large for an appetizer and a tad salty for us. The Butter chicken, Samosas, Began Bharta and Okra were great.
The service was a bit slow but I think they were understaffed.

If you want authentic Indian cuisine, I think you cannot go wrong here.

Excellent food, super service! Very accommodating. The chef was super nice and accommodated all our special requests with her lovely smile.

Superb Indian Food! The service was a little spotty (disorganized) but the food was outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the chicken curry, very moist and tasty (impressive for white meat chicken). My wife also tried the rice pudding and thought it was delicious. Very reasonable prices as well - we will be returning for sure!
