Jag's Steak & Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I chose to use the valet parking option. My vehicle is older and the valet was not as prompt as I would have thought seeing there was no one in front of me. We were seated promptly and we were waiting on the third member of our party. When he arrived, he was walked back to the table my a hostess. Very professional. Our server, Cheryl, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Very professional. After dinner, we requested to sit with Delaney in the bar and we were promptly seated and waited on. Delaney was super attentive and professional. Overall, great experience. I was celebrating my 20 year work anniversary with my son and my friend. Dinner at Jag's was an awesome way to celebrate.
I'll start off that this visit was for my fiance bday. The restaurant wasn't very accomadating for out party of 10. We had to have a late dinner 930pm. My fiance and I arrived early and were giving free entry to the bar area. It was, standing room only but the live music was nice. It took 15 minutes for us to actually get a drink from the bar but when we did the drinks were great. Once we were seated in the back we were given the option to move in the bar seating but it was way to loud for my fiance. Our server(Haley or hannah) I can't recall was very sweet. Our appetizers were amazing. We were excited to have our dinner. Here comes the bad part.
1:not many options for vegans
2: 6 out if 8 meals were horrible, steaks very undercooked(ordered medium got medium rare),no flavor to the marsala sauce, portabella mushroom meal very soggy
3: when reported we were told kitchen was closed
4: manager acted like we only didn't want to pay when in actuality we wanted to eat
5: 20% gratuity was placed on the food that was taken off the meal
6: another manager still made comments about the meal being taken off when I advised of the wrong calculations.
We left hungry and I was upset I didn't listen to my friend when she told me that this place isn't good at all. We paid 150.00 checks for appetizers and cheescake with 20% gratuity and still had to stop to grab dinner otw home....Choose another resturant for better food and better management.
My husband and I decided to take our 16 year old granddaughter out "just because" .
we were able to get our favorite and usual waiter. the Food was wonderful as always and carolers were singing Christmas song. Jags is 1 of my top 3 Restaurants in West Chester.
so far we have not been disappointed. Ambiance is great and the Food presentations are always lovely
I definitely recommend Jag's Steak & Seafood
All the food was excellently prepared, from crab bisque to NY strip or fillet steaks, to delicious salad dressing and rye bread to creme brulee. Even the baked potato was delicious! The menu is not adventurous or upstream--most of what was on the menu has been served in American restaurants for 30 years, but nothing wrong with that, when every morsel was delicious. The live music during our early 6 o'clock dinner was very nice, and the service was friendly and attentive. Just a couple of downsides: Traffic pattern around the large busy bar to get to our table was awkward, and the seats are not very comfortable. Also, we were seated near the door to the enclosed patio where people were smoking cigars, and we got a pretty big whiff every time servers went in and out. Next time we will request a different table. However, I consider those things minor inconveniences when such good food and service is to be found in this classic neighborhood steak house.
I booked our night about 5-6 weeks in advance for our annual Christmas dinner for just the two of us. When we were getting seated i asked for another seating area as the one we were getting seated in was not what we wanted. The atmosphere of this room was not welcoming. The gal that seated us indicated that the rooms that we wanted (with the fireplaces) were already busy with parties. So i said fine. Then, the drink that my husband ordered was terrible, not much liquor, however, our waiter fixed it himself and it was good. Then a large party of 10 were seated, and were so loud that my husband and i had to scream at each other across a small table. We really enjoyed coming to Jags, but this was our last trip. We spent a lot of money ($225) for just two people which we do not mind but too many things were just not up to par.
Great evening to celebrate a birthday. Staff provided accomodations for all our special requests, food was as good as expected and Christine was one of the best waitstaff we have had worldwide. We will return soon.
The menu is extensive so an internet review beforhand was crucial to
Getting the best selection
I love having lunch at Jags. December is a special time of year. Not just because of the holidays, but because Jags is finally open for lunch. The food is wonderful; the atmosphere festive and comfortable; the staff friendly and attentive. Every lunch is a pleasant experience - add in friends and family and you have a lasting special memory.
This is a very popular restaurant, and for good reason. Our reservation was early, so it wasn't terribly busy at the time, but by the time we were finished with our meal it was quite crowded. The food was very good and the service was also good. We decided on the Friday Night Dinner for Two menu which had a good selection. The steaks were delicious and it was a good amount of food. It was our first visit but it won't be our last!
Husband and I went to Jag’s for our Anniversary. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable server, great food and wine—-the pluses. The minuses—we were seated at a table for 2 pushed into a corner in front of an emergency exit door. There was a very loud party of 10 seated right next to us. They were celebrating someone’s retirement and as the evening progressed the group got so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation at our table. Not begrudging the group having a good time, but I don’t understand seating us in such close proximity on a slow Monday night.
My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience for our anniversary "date".
Everything was great the food, the setting, and the staff went beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We commend everyone!!
We recommend Jag's for any of your dining/entertainment needs.
Thank you so much for a memorable experience!
We waited almost 20 minutes for someone to stop by our table after the bread and water was dropped off. We flagged down a waitress who had walked past us at least 5-6 times without saying a word, and asked if she could get our server that we hadn't seen yet. I'm not sure if it was always supposed to be her or if she covered for someone who wasn't doing their job... but she ended up being our server.
Everything was just SO SLOW. We ordered a drink, and pretty much ordered the rest of our food at the time the drink was dropped off. Our reservation for two people was 7:30 and by the time we finished our meal and paid, it was after 10.
The food was just average. Everything was really salty. I'm talking CRAZY amounts of salt. On everything. The bread crust was covered in huge salt chunks.
They brought out a nice dessert menu to choose from for our anniversary, which was nice. The rest was just average at best.
