Local friendly restaurant with good food and service. Highly reecommended.
Was visiting my sister in nyc. We wanted to talk and catch up on things. The food was very good. The service good and the ambiance friendly and sophisticated. I have been there before and will definitely go back. A great spot for meeting with family or friends. I highly recommend it!
Great French bistro that I wish were in my neighborhood.
So authentic and flavorful!
Makes me want to go back there right now!
Reliably delicious, and friendly service. It has a very well-balanced layout of tables, and is decorated in a very warm, appealing way; I hope they never change it!!
The bread is just right, crusty and warm, and the food portions are generous but not frighteningly large. It is the best-balanced restaurant on the Upper East Side, as far as I'm concerned. It Is a bit pricey; but for a special get-together, they come through very well, and make it seem worthwhile.
Lovely restaurant, good food & great atmosphere.
Staff from top to bottom really nice.
Great Night. Best Veal Chop Friday Night Special!
Easter brunch at Jacques was lovely. The crowd was festive, and the atmosphere warm. The usual group of egg dishes, as well as the traditional bistro menu, well executed and unpretentious. Glad to have this one in the neighborhood.
Waiter was excellent, as was the food. The tables are a little too close together but not too bad. Very nice place.
We go to Jacques so often--were there 2 days ago, will be there 2 nights from now--our very presence attests to this restaurant's excellent food and service in a comfortable, charming ambiance. Reminiscent of Paris's Left Bank, in the Sixth. A favorite spot for any occasion.
Jacques Brasserie is one of our all-time, long-time favorites! Great food, cozy, excellent service and definitely no ‘over-servicing’ as so many restaurants tend to do these days. Classic courtesy and warm ambiance any time of day. We’ve been going to Jacques for 20 years...always consistent in all categories, lovely people.
The real deal. No, it's not Le Bernardin, but it is totally pleasurable dining — real French dishes, reasonable prices, great room, courteous service and a civilized atmosphere.
This restaurant has been consistently good. great for late night dining, pleasant music Thursday through Sunday. Great service, food and ambiance.
One of my favorites in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.
A typical French Brasserie. Been here many times. A neighborhood favorite. Good service, good food. What else should one ask for?
This is the third visit to this restaurant and it never disappoints. Probably our favorite French restaurant on the UES.
This is my new favorite. Each time you arrive you feel you are an old friend. The staff is lovely, and the food is delicious and satisfying. Cocktails are excellent.
Lovely restaurant. Excellent date place
If it were not for the amplified and intrusive audio from an Oscars telecast, this would have been an exceptional. Food was delicious. Service was attentive. What a pleasure!!
Always reliable and delicious. Love it for two or a party. Been going to Jacques for years.
Everything was great, the service was good, the food was fine, as was the atmosphere. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the bad acoustics. Especially when the room was almost full, you could hardly hear your neighbour talk.
A wonderful, authentic UES French bistro... well worth the visit, and we will be back!
Yet another lovely brunch at a place that makes you want to become a regular. The food is great, lovely versions of everything I’ve had so far on the menu. This isn’t cutting-edge cuisine, but that’s the point. This is a remarkable comfortable and low-key dining experience with attention to both the quality of the food (try the superb tuna tartare, for example), the drinks (an impeccable Negroni, for instance), and warm service (after a third visit, we were welcomed like old customers). Looking forward to our next meal.
We went for dinner...The food was delicious, the service outstanding.
Last minute find - food was better than expected. Table by the window was cozy. Staff was very nice. Will come back!
People seemed happy. We were seated right away, the server was attentive and very good, and the the menu offered plenty of choices at a variety of prices. We had the trout and the branzino, and both were well handled and presented. We left before dessert because it was snowing and we had a long drive home, but we'll snag the chocolate souffle next time.
I have been to this restaurant many times through the years and I was never disappointed. Great food, good service and ambiance. I love the moules marinieres with a glass of cincerre and a creme brûlée for desert. There is live music Thursday - Saturday at night. Great outdoor seating during summer time.
Tres francais. A quite satisfactory cassoulet. Attentive, not obsequious, service.
Bistro dining on the UES - easy and delicious menu choices.
Good wines and relaxed atmosphere.
Favorite for mussels and frites, but even the omelettes are yummy!
Had a great meal. The waiter got an appetizer order wrong but it worked out ok.
Always a reliable, extremely charming place.
The food was authentically French bistro. The frisbee salad, the duck and the salmon were excellent. Very friendly staff. A bit crowded...but it's a bistro!
I have gone many times to Jacques brasserie, for brunch and dinner. I love their food.
Last Sunday it was a disaster. There were not many people when we arrived. The waiter took our order, and we waited, and waited, and waited... It took almost one and 1/2 hour to get our food. The waiter apologized, I am sure it was not his fault. There were probably short in the kitchen. I was embarrassed as I was the one suggesting the restaurant. I will think twice before going back !
Always great. Special evening events. Fabulous brunch.
Always a delight
We were greeted enthusiastically at the door. Small place so don't go if that bothers you. The salad was excellent and both of our seafood meals were outstanding. The only complaint was an inattentive waitress. She didn't seem to want to wait on us and did not check with us during our meal and did not offer desserts to us.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner there with my friend - particularly because of the corner table we had. It was a bit noisy but the food was very good, the menu selections great, and overall most enjoyable.
This is our go-to French bistro. We have had terrific meals for lunch, dinner and brunch. The servers are always extra caring, especially to my 12 year old son who loves the steak frites and crispy fries!
Excellent! Best steak I have had in years! Service was exceptional! Will definitely be back.
Although food was up to it's usual high standards Saturday night, it was very crowded and service was both slow and erratic.
Always wonderful!
Reliably good and the jazz nights are great fun!
