Have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. Food was excellent! Lamb chops and asparagus done perfectly. It’s noisy and crowded inside so hoped to eat outside but there were NO heaters in the shed. Sat in the enclosed area but felt cramped. Will wait for warmer weather to return.

The restaurant’s staff could not have been kinder or more generous. Have been to Jacques’ many times before but this time it was my cousin’s birthday and everything went 100 percent. Even a present from the restaurant was champagne. Fabulous!

I went with my wife for lunch on Valentines Day. Until we arrived they were putting everyone in the small dining area by the bar. It was very crowded. Luckily unprompted our waiter opened up the larger dining room for us and we had a nice table. Only a few more couples came afterward. The food and service were good and we were not rushed.

If I could, the Overall score would be 3.5. The waiter seemed indifferent, not looking over to see if we needed something even when he was 5 feet away. I actually had to raise my voice as he was walking away in order to get his attention. I've been a waiter, and I know the job, and asking for bread service twice was ridiculous, especially when other tables around us were getting offered bread a second time. I've been here many times, and I love the ambiance, but last night bothered me a little. The pommes frites also weren't as good as they should be, and seemed as if they had been re-fried or the oil wasn't fresh. I'm willing to chalk that up to a bad night though. I'll go back, and hopefully things will be better next time. One highlight out of all of it - the bartender made a perfect vodka martini.

We had a wonderful meal for two at Jacques, with great food, a welcoming atmosphere and good service. It’s such a relief to find a restaurant in NYC that doesn’t play loud, thumping music. What a pleasure to de able to talk over dinner. It would be a nice spot for a romantic meal too.

Lovely spot on the UES, was packed on a Saturday night. Very good customer service, even with the crowd, food was excellent, good sized wine list, traditional French cuisine that delivered all the right notes. Great start with our appetizers of oysters and a delicious bowl of cream of mushroom soup and mains of beef bourguignon and steak frites were also very good! Ambiance was wonderful with a moderate to high sound level given the number of customers and room size, and the other patrons seemed very happy! Overall a wonderful place to go just off 3rd & 85th! PS - outdoor seating was available and being utilized, but we did not have a chance to review.

Forgotten how lovely this place is: cozy and inviting and authentic. Solid French food in a bustly, friendly setting with cheery staff. Great for a group or solo bar dining.

Honestly, it was my son's birthday - and we pretty much celebrated it all weekend at different "fancy-pants" restaurants, and this was our favorite. My husband enjoyed the wine; I enjoyed the cocktails. The food was superb. My son enjoyed the Friday night special. And the birthday surprise was just fabulous - very memorable. Thank you so much.

Jacques Brasserie has become one of my go-to restaurants when I'm on the East Side. I originally went because it was near a doctor's appointment, but I discovered that it was charming ambiance, tasty food, and the price is reasonable. Can't beat that! And there's always an outdoor dining option, which I still prefer due to Covid. I highly recommend it and plan to keep going back.

It’s the first time we’ve been very disappointed by the food, which is usually tasty and well prepared . The branzino was dry and the steak frites not up to par. Tuna tartare and tarte Tatin were both fine; however, the main course and the $$ left a bad taste. Maybe next time !
