Great feel, genuine french bistro and "french or french colony" staff give a great experience.
Menu good and the traditional. not overly fancy.
price was good, better value than you typical New York "french bistro"
As always a great meal. Jacques never disappoints. Like being in Paris.
We went for an early dinner.
Servings were plentiful and the food was excellent .
Staff was friendly and very attentive.
Very good in all respects except extremely noisy. Hard to converse with person sitting at the same table.
Great for what it is: old school bistro.
Great food. Testily prepared fish and salads. Outstanding moules y frites!!
Excellent, traditional French specialties in a charming atmosphere. I am still swooning over the crepes suzettes.
Mussels were overcooked and dry. Skirt steak had to be sent back when medium rare request came to the table medium well
lovely ambience, good food, quiet room--perfect place to meet and eat with your good friends.
We have found a new gem for our NYC visits!
Always a pleasant place for lunch with a friend--the food is good and the atmosphere is calm.
Mediocre food truly terrible service.
The setting is lovely. We were 5 for dinner and could hear each other. The food is good. (It is not terrific.) Service was very nice. This is also one of the few places in the neighborhood taking brunch reservations on the weekend.
Love this place for lunch. Perfect menu. Quiet enough for conversation, and great service.
My friend and I didn’t know what we felt like eating, so decided to try a couple of things. Our server was fine with that, and we ended up sharing mussels, then scallops and finally a thin apple tart. All fabulous, all beautifully presented. What started as a “blah” evening ended up great. All restaurants should aim for this!
A great, rock solid brassiere.
There are now too few bistros like this in NYC.
I can’t wait to go back for another bowl of those wonderful mussels
Very nice. Caesar dressing could use a bit of help and not quite so much would be great.
Café was a lovely and charming neighborhood restaurant with good food and excellent service. Nice attention to detail such as the warmed milk for coffee and the room temperature butter for your bread.
well, the burger was correctly cooked for once but the fries were very greasy as was the burger - teh accompanying lettuce leaves were limp - but the bun was not crisp or toasted - the apple slices were also drenched in grease as opposed to imparting a fresh taste - had not gone back in a long while but decided to give them another chance but wouldn't go back in a hurry if ever - shame because the ambiance and the location are great and the service is almost always so pleasant and attentive
there are a lot better burgers in NYC for less money
also suffering sticker shock after three weeks in Europe in Italy (Verona), Austria (Fuschl and Vienna) and Spain (San Sebastian and Madrid) where you can eat and drink so much better for so much less money even in "expensive" restaurants
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant, serving classic French bistro dishes, sometimes with a Middle East influence. Service was outstanding and noise level was, for a NYC restaurant . quite good.
They should offer a lunch menu or price fix. This restaurant is a bit too pricy for what it offers, for a lunch.
Great brasserie with wonderful mussels and good service.
Jacques is one of our favorite neighborhood haunts, for brunch or dinner or cocktails, it is reliable and always a pleasant experience.
Always delicious, always great service, always plentiful.
The salads nicioise yesterday was scrumptious. And, the white and dark valrhona chocolate terrine was amazing. It's always a pleasure for me to be there.
Great French restaurant! Thank you for wonderful evening.
Fantastic every time!
Always good, although expensive
Dining at Jacques is always a pleasure particularly outdoors in the spring, summer and early fall. However, the menu is tired. I have almost lost my taste for everything offered because it is so predictable. The quality is excellent but the options need to be expanded and must be more interesting.
Amazing meal with amazing service. My second time visiting and I plan to return again.
Lovely spot for any occasion.
Food and service is great! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming every time we go. No matter what dish is chosen for the main course, they have never disappoint!
As always, Jacques Brasserie was wonderful. We went there after a movie, and were seated immediately. Food was terrific and service impeccable. We were not rushed - we probably sat there for two hours. And as always, on Saturday night there was a fantastic singer/guitar player.
Wonderful Experience with food and Service. Jacques is our favorite restaurant now.
Once again, Jacque's was a wonderful dinner evening and I was so pleased my friend loved her first time at Jacque's! A great neighborhood restaurant!
Excellent dining experience. Great for special occasion or just lovely neighborhood night out.
Always dependable both food and service. Noise level is tolerable.
This is our favorite restaurant on the Upper East Side. We go there every time we’re in town from Pennsylvania. Food is always superb.
Obnoxious party spoiled the meal. Staff did their best.
