Amazing!!! The Brasserie is just spectacular food and top notch service. Thank you for making my husband's birthday memorable.
Good food, great service, nice atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone looking for good food in a relaxed atmosphere
As always, loved it- esp outside for lunch on the first warm day this spring. Was perfect!
The Patio at Jacques is a wonderful dining experience. If you want to really relax and enjoy those you are with as well as authentic, top notch food and service, come out to Jacques.
While I love dining at L'Auberge Chez-Francois, which is upstairs, I was really thrilled to try Jacques' Brasserie for a less formal experience. The food was up to the high standards of the shared kitchen and the service was excellent. My friend and I enjoyed a long casual dinner and never were rushed. I totally loved the excellent bouillabaisse - its fragrant broth still makes my mouth water. Be assured I will make this a regular dining spot.
Cozy intimate old world!
Love L'Auberge!! The food, atmosphere and service is beyond excellent!
The food is as good as upstairs at the main restaurant. The atmosphere is casual but the menu is extensive and the service is impeccable.
Surprisingly good! As a guy who prefers casual dining WITHOUT neckties and plenty of good food, I entered this establishment with the expectation that I would pay too much for too little and go home hungry. But, hey, as long as my wife has a good time then what the heck, right? I am happy to report that I had a really excellent meal...not even kidding. My wife was very happy with the meal and we had a great time. I recommend you give this place a try. It was really good.
We have been to L'Auberge many, many times, both upstairs and at the Brasserie and this was the very first time I was disappointed. Nothing major, just some annoyances. We ordered cocktails first. I ordered mine on the rocks, but it came straight up. Not a big deal, and easily remedied.
The real problem was with my food order. I ordered the lobster and asparagus salad which normally comes with a vanilla vinaigrette dressing. I asked instead to have it with a regular vinaigrette as I do not like the sweet taste of the vanilla. When my salad arrived, it was covered with vanilla vinaigrette so, of course, I sent it back expecting they would remake the salad. So the salad arrived and it became immediately clear that rather than remaking the salad, they had just wiped off the vanilla dressing and added regular vinaigrette. I could still taste the vanilla. Not the attention to detail we usually experience. We will be back, but surprised to have this experience.
Jacques is our “go to” spot for good reason. Authentic, comfortable, with great attention to the diners. Jacques is a personable and professional restauranteur.
This is unique vs very capable places where the face at the place is working for a remote owner/boss. If you want a great dining experience, Chez Francois/ Jacques Brasserie, is a good choice.
Wonderful ambience, food and service, a pleasure to visit and eat here, as always!
Always a wonderful time - and sometimes we cannot resist the wonderful over-the-top burgers
We've eaten upstairs dozens of times over the years...and have never been disappointed. Because we live in Reston, you are very convenient to us. We have always loved your food, service, ambience, care in presentation and sincerity in wanting our party to be completely satisfied. You've achieved the same high standards at Jacques. We had a wonderful meal and loved every minute of our evening with you. We're already planning our next time together. Thank you!
Excellent food, with super service, in a lovely and quiet atmosphere. A bit of a hike from our home in Maryland, but always worth the drive.
We always enjoy it and this occasion was no exception. Good food, great service.
Always a wonderful experience! Exceptional service and a wonderful menu.
Lovely setting and great menu with something for even the pickiest eaters—kudos!
this has got to be one of the top 10 dining establishments in the mid-Atlantic states.
Food was great with a strong Alsatian influence, wine was reasonably priced, but the overall price was much more expensive than from a traditional French brasserie price.
I recommend the beef bourguignon. It rivals many I had in Burgundy.
Service was great, but maybe (in my opinion) a bit too formal for a brasserie ambiance.
Overall, a great experience, but on the expensive side.
Well worth the trip from DC! Having sampled 90% of the French restaurants in DC, we ventured to Great Falls, dodging toppled trees and down power lines where we encountered the best French cuisine this side of the Loire Valley. We started the evening with two exquisitely prepared Grey Goose martinis. As an appetizer we had a cheese board with pate, cheeses, ham, and sausage. The pate was made in-house and the cheeses selected for their taste and aromatic quality. Crusty French bread was abundant. We shared a Roquefort salad which was crispy, fresh and adequately dressed. To compliment our entrees, hers' calf liver with carmelized onions and mine, the cassoulet, we had an superb half-bottle of French wine. The evening was topped off with espresso and planning a return trip.
Great, as always.
This is a gem in the woods.
Cozy, authentic, and served by people with passion.
We have never been disappointed here. It is consistently outstanding
My wife and I came to the Brasserie for a date night. We enjoyed the casual French ambiance and the tasty cuisine. We had the escargots and lobster bisque as first courses and the beef bourguignon and lamb cassoulet for the main courses. Dessert was creme brulee. All of the food was tasty with good presentation and portions. Excellent service. An eclectic crowd. We will go back !
As always, my experience was excellent. My salad, steak and dessert (lime tart w/lime sorbet) were excellent on a quiet Friday for lunch.
The food was excellent - all courses and especially the souffle. The service was impeccable.
We love it! Even when it’s pretty boisterous. It’s great!
We have enjoyed dining at L'Auberge Chez Francois for many many years--as have our children from the time they were just youngsters. It is the first restaurant we think of when we have a special occasion to celebrate whether it is for birthdays, anniversaries, or other special events of ours or extended family members. While this was our first time dining at the Brasserie--for lunch--we will definitely add the Brasserie to our list and will plan to dine there again. We enjoyed the small intimate setting and the food selection and portion size were just perfect for us. Also our waiter, David, was very attentive and when asked a question about some of the paintings/dishes displayed on the walls sought out Jacques who came downstairs and gave us some of the history of the pieces in the Brasserie--some of which date back to not only the original downtown restaurant but include items either collected by or done by Jacques' relatives. Couldn't have had a nicer afternoon on Valetine's Day or better service and/or food. Thank you Jacque and the staff at L'Augerge Chez Francois!
One of my all time favorites, try the beef cheeks, the salmon is consistently amazing. For dessert, the creme brûlée is the best. House wines will work for most people, unless you're a european wine expert. Service is A+
Excellent service, fabulous brunch! We're looking forward to our next visit!
Everything was fabulous but espically the burger! Also loved the beef checks!
We had a wonderful time at Jaques. The staff was very accommodating and service was excellent. Food was delicious. They took care of us and it was very nice.
New job and Birthday
We celebrated our anniversary and the food, service, and ambience were perfect. We were originally seated by the window, nut asked to be moved as we were too close to a large party. It ended up being the perfect cozy table for us. The sommelier helped us choose a lovely wine. The cream of fennel soup was exquisite. The appetizer size bouillebase was just right. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the lemon sole. They surprised us with complimentary baked Alaska and champagne. And we finished up with a yummy chocolate shuffle.
Never disappoints! Portions are a perfect size. I love the menu but tried the Friday night special Lobster Thermidor. Twice the price of regular entrees but delicious. Service is always on point. Danny is exceptional, Abel is amazing too. Alex recommended the perfect wine.
Truly amazing food, service and overall experience.
