We always enjoy it and this occasion was no exception. Good food, great service.
Always a wonderful experience! Exceptional service and a wonderful menu.
Lovely setting and great menu with something for even the pickiest eaters—kudos!
this has got to be one of the top 10 dining establishments in the mid-Atlantic states.
Food was great with a strong Alsatian influence, wine was reasonably priced, but the overall price was much more expensive than from a traditional French brasserie price.
I recommend the beef bourguignon. It rivals many I had in Burgundy.
Service was great, but maybe (in my opinion) a bit too formal for a brasserie ambiance.
Overall, a great experience, but on the expensive side.
Well worth the trip from DC! Having sampled 90% of the French restaurants in DC, we ventured to Great Falls, dodging toppled trees and down power lines where we encountered the best French cuisine this side of the Loire Valley. We started the evening with two exquisitely prepared Grey Goose martinis. As an appetizer we had a cheese board with pate, cheeses, ham, and sausage. The pate was made in-house and the cheeses selected for their taste and aromatic quality. Crusty French bread was abundant. We shared a Roquefort salad which was crispy, fresh and adequately dressed. To compliment our entrees, hers' calf liver with carmelized onions and mine, the cassoulet, we had an superb half-bottle of French wine. The evening was topped off with espresso and planning a return trip.
Great, as always.
This is a gem in the woods.
Cozy, authentic, and served by people with passion.
We have never been disappointed here. It is consistently outstanding
My wife and I came to the Brasserie for a date night. We enjoyed the casual French ambiance and the tasty cuisine. We had the escargots and lobster bisque as first courses and the beef bourguignon and lamb cassoulet for the main courses. Dessert was creme brulee. All of the food was tasty with good presentation and portions. Excellent service. An eclectic crowd. We will go back !
As always, my experience was excellent. My salad, steak and dessert (lime tart w/lime sorbet) were excellent on a quiet Friday for lunch.
The food was excellent - all courses and especially the souffle. The service was impeccable.
We love it! Even when it’s pretty boisterous. It’s great!
We have enjoyed dining at L'Auberge Chez Francois for many many years--as have our children from the time they were just youngsters. It is the first restaurant we think of when we have a special occasion to celebrate whether it is for birthdays, anniversaries, or other special events of ours or extended family members. While this was our first time dining at the Brasserie--for lunch--we will definitely add the Brasserie to our list and will plan to dine there again. We enjoyed the small intimate setting and the food selection and portion size were just perfect for us. Also our waiter, David, was very attentive and when asked a question about some of the paintings/dishes displayed on the walls sought out Jacques who came downstairs and gave us some of the history of the pieces in the Brasserie--some of which date back to not only the original downtown restaurant but include items either collected by or done by Jacques' relatives. Couldn't have had a nicer afternoon on Valetine's Day or better service and/or food. Thank you Jacque and the staff at L'Augerge Chez Francois!
One of my all time favorites, try the beef cheeks, the salmon is consistently amazing. For dessert, the creme brûlée is the best. House wines will work for most people, unless you're a european wine expert. Service is A+
Excellent service, fabulous brunch! We're looking forward to our next visit!
Everything was fabulous but espically the burger! Also loved the beef checks!
We had a wonderful time at Jaques. The staff was very accommodating and service was excellent. Food was delicious. They took care of us and it was very nice.
New job and Birthday
We celebrated our anniversary and the food, service, and ambience were perfect. We were originally seated by the window, nut asked to be moved as we were too close to a large party. It ended up being the perfect cozy table for us. The sommelier helped us choose a lovely wine. The cream of fennel soup was exquisite. The appetizer size bouillebase was just right. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the lemon sole. They surprised us with complimentary baked Alaska and champagne. And we finished up with a yummy chocolate shuffle.
Never disappoints! Portions are a perfect size. I love the menu but tried the Friday night special Lobster Thermidor. Twice the price of regular entrees but delicious. Service is always on point. Danny is exceptional, Abel is amazing too. Alex recommended the perfect wine.
Truly amazing food, service and overall experience.
The fppd, level of service, and ambiance are great! It is always special when the host and some staff remember you from the last visit to the restaurant. It is hard to imagine a better duck breast or mussels than what is served here.
We love going to Jacques for special celebrations . Everything is delicious and fantastic down to every detail.
We have been going to Chez FRANCOIS since it opened in Great Falls. Now the Brasserie is our favorite to go,place. I had the liver tonight which was outstanding. Not a dish I have very often but has a rare treat it was perfection
Our evening was perfect as it always is at Jacques Brasserie!
Excellent food and excellent service. Our party of four had the onion soup and lobster bisque soup, shrimp salad, white bean cassoulet, beef bourginon and the Thurs veal special. Everything was spectular.
I love Jacques’ Brasserie! Excellent food with excellent service in a quiet and romantic setting! Best place for a romantic dinner!
Thank you L’Auberge Chez Francois!
Excellent food! You can never go wrong eating here. The food is always top quality and the service is great. We all love coming here , never disappointed
What can I say - it's the mini version of L'Auberge Chez Francois. It is delicious and you won't want to leave once your there. It is so beautiful and comfortable. So much to chose from - I always start with the roquefort cheese tart. I could eat that every day. The soups are amazing! Today I had one of my favorite - pea soup. I am not joking when I say that I could drink it. It is so smooth and hearty. You can never go wrong with the omelet. Light, fluffy, airy. Another must try is the Beef Bourguignon. Beautiful, earthy, hearty and you will try it again and again. Don't miss out on a souffle for dessert. I always get the raspberry but they have several other choices. But another dessert you must try is the lime tart with lime sorbet. It is everyone's favorite right now. The service is exceptional. Everyone at Jacques like L'Auberge Chez Francois makes the experience even more special.
Had a wonderful evening and the food was delicious as always. The service is just what you would expect and never intrusive. The restaurant is cozy in the winter and typically full as it is a destination restaurant for many in the area. We have never been disappointed (except when we couldn't get a table!) with the food, service, wine selection and overall reception we receive when dine here. Highly recommend!
One of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, service is warm & attentive, and it’s reasonably priced. I had the beef bourguignon, which was fantastic, & practically melted in my mouth. We’ve never had anything here we didn’t enjoy. Thank you for a lovely birthday celebration!
Wonderful restaurant in every aspect. Would love to eat here weekly
Amazing space for French food
Enjoyed a wonderful and romantic Birthday dinner. Food was fantastic, as was the service and atmosphere! We will be back!
Open Table send me an email asking "How was Jacques Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois?" They're kidding, right? A million 5 star reviews and they don't know the answer? L'Auberge Chez Francois is the best restaurant in the DC area (a radius that includes Washington, Virginia) and the Brasserie is comfortable setting for enjoying their spectacular food, wine and service. Seriously, it's been in business longer than I've been alive - and it's the only restaurant I know that is better than ever.
First trip to the Brasserie, as we normally are upstairs in the "normal" dining room. If you are looking for the same delicious food as upstairs, but in an a la carte menu, you want to go the Brasserie. During the day, you miss the ambiance of the upstairs restaurant, both its inside and outside views. But at night, it might be even more cozy downstairs.
waiter was helpful, food and beverages were good, not rushed.
noise level picked up as the crowd increased.
My meal at the Brasserie was great as always. My steak was cooked correctly, my beans just so, the pomm frites were crispy, and dessert hit the spot. The staff were helpful and ready to assist. All around, an excellent meal on a Saturday night.
