Beautiful evening outside. My all time favorite restaurant
A lovely Sunday afternoon meal on the patio. Delicious food, lovely surroundings, low noise.
The Sunday brunch of eggs Benedict and filet mignon was delicious as were the desserts, especially the meringue. The service was excellent. Thank you.
Outstanding as always. Special time of year when offered tomato salad fresh from their own garden.
First class in every way!
Dinner before my daughter's wedding with our new son in law! Danny and his team, once again, made it a very special meal! Always the best in service and food! Many thanks for your hospitality.
Fantastic food. My lobster bisque was the best I have had in a long time. The chive crepe with wild mushrooms simply great. The Veal Cordon Bleu also great. The service was timely, the server was very tactful, not rushing although the place was very busy. And the Grand Marnière souffles - OMG! Already planning to go back again (would be our 4th time)! We have eaten here for years. It just gets better and better. You can be casual or dressed and feel perfectly comfortable. The food is always wonderful and in the dummer the freshest of the fresh since they raise all their own veggies. Just great!!!
The tomato salad was fantastic .The food was great as was the service.
Very good as usual
As good as always. It’s our go to place when we want good food in a lovely atmosphere. Jacques is great.
Charming surroundings for a weekend lunch. We sat outside, which I think is nicer than the indoor seating. Service is very professional and friendly. Food was solid but a bit old fashioned, which of course was as expected. We had the trout, veal, steak benedict and the burger. The trout was the best of the pick. Deserts were good too. We had two soufflés, creme brûlée, chocolate tort and we also received chocolate ice cream on the house. All were excellent. Overall a great experience.
Always a great place with great food. Service on this visit was uncharacteristically uneven.
What a special place this is. I hosted out of town friends who wanted to dine outdoors and we had a divine meal.
We have dinner on Thur., 07/08. Normally, our review is nothing less than five stars at both Jacques' Brasserie and at L'Auberge Chez Francois. Unfortunately, our experience was not very good this past Thursday. The service was good; we generally receive and expect excellence. The appetizers, chive crepes and mushrooms and mussels, were excellent; what we've come to expect. Three of the four entrees were average to below average, not the five stars that we expect. My Fillet Mignon burger was dry and overcooked. The waiter asked how I wanted it and I replied medium rare. It came well done. My wife's seafood pasta was with over cooked and over sauced angel hair/capellini pasta. My friend said he wouldn't recommend the veal cordon bleu weekly special. The only dish worthwhile was the halibut. Dessert, always a main stay at Jacques' Brasserie and at L'Auberge Chez Francois, was a major disappointment. The French Plum Tart was a favorite and was not particularly good. It was edible, yet a disappointment. We hope they get back to where they were. We've been waiting for a year to get the opportunity to dine at Jacques' Brasserie and at L'Auberge Chez Francois.
Always a great dinner.
Amazing meal as always. Dessert soufflé amazing as usual.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary!!
Had to send the steak back as it was cooked very well rather than medium rare. Did not expect this at such an expensive place. Other than that, everything was fine.
The food was great, but the service was exceptional. The advice on the wine selection was a perfect pairing to our meal. Thank you for a wonderful time for our anniversary.
Tables for four in the Brasserie are too small to hold plates, glasses, etc. for four people. Next time I will reserve a table in the dining room.
We love eating at Jacques. We had the halibut which was the special. Best fish I have ever had. Cooked perfectly. Their rainbow trout is excellent as well. The dessert was a special dessert, blueberry tart. Excellent!
Wonderful evening....staff, food, and ambience! Thank you!!
On the reservation we were asked if this was a special occasion and we replied we were celebrating a birthday. From prior visits over the years our waiters had provided a dessert or complementary drink. Last night nothing. We really didn't need a free item, but why ask if you are celebrating something if you don't plan to do anything. We still love the place, just a little disappointed.
Our experiences at Jacques'Brasserie are always fantastic. The food, atmosphere and service are always exceptional!!
Always excellent food, service and ambiance! Went there for my husband's birthday and we enjoyed our dinner very much.
Just a delightful meal in the Brasserie at our favorite table with family we had not seen in a long time. Attentive & gracious service of most delicious Apps. Mains & the Grand Mariner Soufflé. Wine selections excellent! This is always a must when visiting NoVa.
As romantic as I remember it. Exceptional service. My wife's trout was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And the setting is...incomparable.
The service was not up to your standards. Server did not seem to understand English, empty dishes were not cleared until the end of the meal, had to ask to have beverages refreshed and a roforque cheese salad that was order was fogtten and brought after a reminder and the main course was delivered to table. We have been eating here since Joucque opened in the 70’s when it was converted from Riverbend Store. Service did not meet your standards. Milburns
Birthday celebration at the always relaxed Bistro. Excellent food and service. Thank you
Thank you! Always outstanding.
This restaurant had kept its quality over the many years we have been going there, for family celebrations. Everything was as usual, delicious.
This was our first time at the Bistro, and the ambience in the garden is fabulous.
Will go again to this bucolic setting.
Another fabulous dinner at Jacques'. The halibut was tasty and moist! Merci!
The food, service and atmosphere made our dinner a Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois a perfect summer evening!
There is no better place for al fresco dining! Last night the weather was ideal -- and like us, many flocked to Jacques'. The grounds are beautiful. We were particularly lucky this night. Not only did we get one of the last outside tables, the large new tent near the upper restaurant hosted a gathering that included live music -- the perfect blend of soft music and ballads (some in French) that added to the our experience. Service was personable and excellent. Food was perfect as well. We took so long to finish our dinner that we were not able to walk the garden and see the amazing farm to table operation. Next time!
Delicious food served on the terrace. Our server was attentive and asked if it were a special occasion and I told him my husband’s birthday was next week so he gave us a free dessert. I always live the restaurant whether upstairs with four courses or the brasserie with a la carte entrees.
As usual, everything is done well. Congratulations to Jacques and his whole staff. Perfect!
Highly recommend Jacques’ especially the outdoor seating experience. Definitely will go back
