Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois
Chef Jacques Haeringer
Such a warm and comforting place for a night out - and the food is amazing!
Wonderful food and service as always. A great alternative to the more formal dining upstairs.
Always an enjoyable experience in a cozy atmosphere.
I am from France and this place is the closest I have had to true French food. I will go back for sure. Only negative point is $9 for a double espresso is just pure rip off.
The brunch was fantastic! We look forward to a return visit soon. Merci!
Danny is the best. He always make our time at Jacques so special. Thanks again.
Very nice casual alternative to the main restaurant at L'Auberge Chez Francois. Excellent food. Great service.
GREAT food, but very overpriced. Example : over 25 dollars for a bowl of beef stew. French restaurants in Annapolis MD 30 to 50 percent less expensive, with comparable quality.
All around fantastic! The food and service were top notch and we ended our lovely afternoon sitting by the fire pit enjoying a glass of wine. Can’t wait to go back!
The food, service and ambiance were perfect. We tried the soufflés for dessert and they were melt in your mouth delicious. Overall, a superb experience.
Love the ambiance of a French auberge
Service and good are excellent
The food was wonderful as always and this is definitely a wonderful place for a special occasion but the server was definitely below the standard expected for this caliper of restaurant. He was completely unfamiliar with the menu and we had to point on the menu for everything we ordered. We ordered champagne (had to show him on the menu for Vueve Cliquot) and he brought out wine glasses instead of champagne flutes. Luckily, someone else on the wait staff caught it and corrected it before he started to pour.
All and all, we will be back as L'Auberge is a wonderful restaurant and I am remain a fan!
Update - 3/09/19 - I received a call from Jacques himself in response to this review. He apologized and let me know he had addressed the issue with the waiter promptly and that is not the level of quality of his restaurant. He was very clear that this was important to him and he was pleased that I took the time to write the review. After our conversation (which lasted more than 20 minutes), I received a call from his office manager who asked for my address so Jacque could send something to me in response to my review. I am traveling and away from home so I don't yet know what he sent but that was definitely an above and beyond response to an overall positive review. I will definitely be back!
We went to 2 events at L'Auberge in the last few days...one a private wine tasting reception, and one a Birthday Bruch in the Brasserie...both (in their own way) were superb! Excellent food and service, and a very welcoming host. Thank you to all...
Always a wonderful evening with warm service and delicious food. Highly recommend!
Fabulous as always!!!!! Absolutely our very favorite place in Northern Virginia. Friendly, scrumptious, and overall fantastic.
excellent food; great service. same menu as "upstairs" in an a la carte mode;
First time trying the crab cake. Delicious. 👍 Love the Grand Marnier soufflé.
Best food, service and ambience in town! We have been going there for several years and it never disappoints. We take clients, friends and family there and its always fabulous food, personal service and a welcoming ambience. It is truly a one of kind gem right here in Great Falls, VA.
Greeted with a welcoming feeling, service was amazing. We were there for brunch but we’re not rushed through our meal. Food was excellent would definitely return.
Excellent drinks and meal, wonderful service we had a great time!
Dined in the brasserie. Quality of the Cuisine was excellent. Our server was wonderful & and had many excellent suggestions for us. My chair was very uncomfortable and I eventually asked for a pad for the chair. The desert which was the special of the day was excellent.
We had a lovely birthday dinner for my husband. We both loved the bread and French Onion soup appetizer. My husband ordered the trout and I ordered the salmon - both very good but not “outstanding” (perhaps a little plain?). We really enjoyed the array of vegetables served with our entrees. It was also very nice to bring a free dessert with a candle.
Jacques' Brasserie is fantastic. Quaint, yet elegant, it has wonderful ambiance. Without exception, everything served was gourmet. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming.
Service was excellent, food excellent. Great spot for my moms birthday. Must have the grand marnier soufflé
We had a delightful evening with our good friends! The service & food were top notch! It was a little noisy at times which detracted somewhat from an otherwise wonderful evening! Would highly recommend to friends!
I gave my husband the bad news after we left that Jacques' Brasserie was my new favorite restaurant in Virginia!! Everything was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back for our next special occasion!
Same outstanding quality we have come to expect from L’Auberge.
Servers were very nice, but very slow. Had to keep asking for coffee refills and they were slow despite not being busy. Never got a spoon for coffee. Pizza was served cold on a hot plate. They bright it back to kitchen to reheat, but by then we were not hungry. Had to move tables because of very “loud talker” across small room, but that was not the fault of the restaurant. Disappointing overall. Was very good did brunch downstairs in January. Winter cider mimosa no longer on menu :(.
It was my birthday and they went the extra mile to make me feel special. The service was amazing, food was delicious.
Perfect for us
I have been going to L'Auberge Chez Francois for 40 years now. My husband and I celebrate out anniversary every year since our first anniversary. Up until the past two years, we would go to the restaurant upstairs but now we enjoy the brasserie. I have brought friends for dinner for special birthdays. The service is superb and the food consistently excellent.
Excellent location, food and service
The Lobster Bisque was amazing, the trout was excellent and the desert of creme brule was heavenly
The ambience is quaint and not oppressive, the best part is by far the staff - all of them are friendly, courteous, attentive and charming, it’s worth a visit just to meet them! I ate on the lighter side and it was delicious, especially the bouillabaisse. Slightly noisier than normal owing to a birthday lunch, but this added an air of festivity and was not a distraction. But seriously, the staff are the best.
As always stepping into the Brasserie is a pleasure, like coming home and planning on a good meal. Last visit, started with cocktails, great, shared a bucket of muscles with frites, delicious, ordered main course absolutely marvelous, finished with chez Francois's fabulous soufle for dessert. Service, Ambience and great food leaves one with sublime satisfaction.
My Roquefort Salad and Bouillabaisse was fantastic as was the Seafood Pasta in Lobster Sauce.
Excellent as always! Had a Sat. brunch there and food was great as was the service.
Fantastic food and service!
As always fantastic service fantastic on Beyonce wonderful food and wonderful drinks
It was pouring rain the day my daughter-in-law and I visited Jacques' Brasserie, but once inside we relaxed and enjoyed a leisurely lunch. It was a perfect day for hot mulled wine or spiced cider, and their delicious beef bourguignon was the ultimate comfort food. If only it included more spaetzle! Bread pudding and an opulent chocolate tart rounded out the lunch. The young server did everything right, and being able to talk in a quiet room was a treat. In terms of cost, this is the place to go if you're looking for one or two courses; if you want more, I'd opt for one of the upstairs dining rooms.
