Jacky's Waterplace Restaurant (Downtown, Providence)

Dined here for my partner‘s birthday. I had put in a special request to have a window seat due to the special occasion and they followed through with that expectation. They were able to adjust our reservation time for an earlier time. The service was great. Leng was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Our meals came just as we had ordered and were very delicious.

We loved the atmosphere! Beautiful out door dining. The view is breathtaking! Phenomenal service and even received a special treat for my birthday. Although they couldn’t sing or have candles due to pandemic. They still made it special with a cool fried icecream cake!!

We were celebrating my daughter's birthday which was noted on the OpenTable reservation. We had a 7pm reservation on a Wednesday. We ordered our drinks, apps, and meals all at the same time. However everything came to the table all at once apps were delivered with our entreas. Got to admit felt rushed! No mention of a birthday to celebrate! I have been to Jacky's several times and in past always a good experience.. this last time seemed to be off from what the norm usually is.

Food was absolutely atrocious spent about 400 dollars for 5 people and could hardly swallow the sushi it was so disgusting. Not what you want when spending that kind of money. Very low quality and very disappointed we spent that money for what we got in return. Service was also terrible but they told us the kitchen was backed up ahead of time.

Understaffed and hostess told us from the start service would be slow. She ended up waiting on us and the wait wasn't that bad for the food. But the wait in the lobby was awkward.

The owner and the customer service was great!! Second time there and definitely not a let down at all if u want oysters and some scorpion bowls.

Server was definitely not attentive or available much. Had to keep chasing her down or asking someone else.
She was super loud and just not ideal to me as a customer.

We sat next to the servers area and the were constantly talking about “work drama” thought it was very un-professional because my date and I heard all of if but the food was great price considering!

It was absolutely horrible!!!! We ordered about 10 rolls and other food, but we got our fusion rolls 1 at a time!!! Everything was taking forever and then when we asked to order a couple more rolls, the sushi chef told the server that he did not want to make them. He was cleaning up and was getting ready to leave. We did not know that the kitchen was closing…. Then the server got the manager, so we could hear her and the sushi chef yelling in the kitchen. The manager then came and said he was making it. It was worse than that but I don’t feel like typing…… very disappointed.

Always a pleasure to dine at Jacky’s. Food and service is consistently excellent. Would highly recommend.

It has been a couple of years since we have been to this location. We live in Portsmouth and frequent the Bristol location (usually for take out).
This location is beautifully designed and overlooks the Providence River. It was a beautiful night and the food was very good as always. However, I did notice the prices have increased both on food and beverages. Our cocktails were $14.00, which I consider high for a cocktail. We were at the Capital Grill recently and even their cocktails were less expensive at $12.00. Most Main Courses were close to $30.00.
Having that said, this will be a special occasion restaurant for us.

Food was beautifully plated, portions were extremely generous, decor is exceptional.

Our First trip to Jacky's Waterplace...this time w/ 2 granddaughters who had visited previously.
Met all expectations. great food, good service and lovely surroundings.

Feel like it hasn't been up to the same par it was when it first opened. Just seemed run down.

Excellent presentation-Great service-very tasty sushi & other dishes-Creme brûlée good but should have been served warm

Fresh and delicious

Always amazing experience; we go here at least once a month, and never ever experience a disappointing meal. Food is excellent and fresh, service is spectacular (including the hosts and valet), and the sake is the bomb! (I drink the G-Joy, dry and cold)

For the second time, we ate outside on the terrace during a perfect weather evening. The shrimp tempura appetizer was great and the steamed seabags and pan fried teriyaki salmon were superb. Ordinaroily, I go to Jacky's for their excellent sushi. This time, they showed that the warm, kitchen entrees are also excellent.

Slow service. Inexperienced server with apparently very little training who could not answer any questions regarding menu items nor did she bring over a knowledgeable server or manager who may have been able to answer questions.

The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great. The staff was very friendly but they are very understaffed. They were pleasant and accommodating even while very busy. Please be kind to the staff during the labor shortage. I highly recommend giving it a try! The food was great and will be returning!

First visit to Jacky’s but won’t be last. Menu was excellent and extensive. Our server, Dani, was attentive but not pushy. Try the Tuna dumplings

Very good the bus boy Angel was the bomb and Anora was delightful we will come back the lover boat was amazing .

Service was slow
Food not as good as previous visits
Menus were filthy and torn should of never been presented to guests in that form

We love the North Providence location and were really excited to try this location finally. It wasn’t as good. Crab Rangoon was warm and wasn’t crispy, like it had been sitting out for a while. Sushi just ok.

We loved the huge variety of wonderful dishes on the menu. I had Peking duck, my husband had scallops and hot and soup … delicious!

Always love it here great fresh food and wonderful service
