Jacky's Restaurant & Banquets (North Providence) Ratings and Reviews
We had a spectacular Birthday Lunch! The hostess "Gina" sat our party of 6 in the private room and the birthday girl felt so special! Gina made us feel welcome and was very attentive from start to finish. Our waiter was very friendly, patient, and the food was simply delicious! Also, getting the staff to,sing happy birthday was Awesome!
I have been several times -NYE was very disappointing - server could not understand me- meal was not up to quality - have had same meal several times - was actually awful - not as ordered ! Shrimp with lemon grass was dry asked no peppers - add broccoli - got a dish full of onion -asked for sauce was charged extra - unacceptable!
I went to the 'New' Jackie's once shortly after it opened, while their old place was still open on Mineral Springs Ave. At that visit I was very disappointed as the prices were quite high.
Since it had been quite a while since visiting it, they have closed the old place. So i decided to give it another visit on Dec 25th. I was pleasantly surprised that they had integrated their old menu from the other restaurant and had a good selection of combo dishes at a reasonable price.
So I would recommend Jackie's for any occasion. The atmosphere is both comfortable and upbeat. They have a nice selection on the menu with some reasonable prices and would recommend it for any occasion.
A very nice experience. It was a Saturday evening around 6pm. It was not too busy. The food came out pretty quickly for our party of 3. It was a birthday and the server came out at the end with a piece of cheesecake and sang happy birthday. I was glad the whole serving crew didn't sing.
Atmosphere beautiful inside and out. However, all staff seemed to be in a bad mood that night . The only time any of them smiled at us is when we left. The waiter seemed to be in a hurry to take our order. Once the food came it was like warm . So that's why I gave this experience 3 stars overall.
The décor was amazing - I felt like I was in some chichi European discotheque. The service was prompt, friendly and not overbearing. The food was exquisite, I had a fusion roll called dancing eel, the mixture of eel, shrimp tempura and avocado melted deliciously into my mouth. My daughter's dish, salmon teriyaki, was great too. The shrimp lettuce wraps were much healthier than at most restaurants, they had a greater proportion of celery, which added a welcome crunch. The price was very reasonable. Only two things that could be improved upon; one, it was pretty darn cold in there, and two, the miso soup was only so-so. As we left we each took a candy from the dish, and were surprised that it wasn't a mint, but rather a delicately flavored fruit confection with a slight sour edge that helped us digest our meal.
Today was Mother's Day and We chose Jacky's because we have always enjoyed our previous visits. Even on Holidays such as Christmas Eve and NYE. This is not our first visit to Jacky's Galaxie in North Providence- We have been to other locations many times . Our service today was very slow waiting over an hour and 15 minutes for our meal to be served after ordering. When our meal was served it was cold and not served with any care at all. Ice Cold Chicken and Broccoli is really unacceptable. The portion was very small. We asked for Chow mein noodles which never came. The steak was overdone and cold. When it was time for the check we had to ask another waitress to please get it for us. Even though it was Mother's Day our reservations were at 4 pm and we only had 4 people in our party. There were at least 6 or 7 empty tables around us. We usually do not usually submit unsatisfactory reviews online but today was extremely disappointing because on other holidays the food was always good and the service in the past was good too. Reviews are meant to help you make the customer experience better. I hope things change because I am sorry to say this was a real turn off .
Reserved reservation for 6 online for mother's day. It was easy and fast. The only problem was when we got there and showed them our reservation. The people at the front desk had no idea what we were talking about. Long story short fortunately one of the waiters understood and lead us to our table. The atmosphere, service and food were good.
Took forever to get the food, it was extreamly loud, making it hard to hear thigs my date and I were talking about. The food the not appetizing, it was extreamly dry and had terrible taste. It was hard getting out waitress to give us updates and refill our beverages. Very dissatisfied.
Had the sirloin beef tips and the salmon entry both were delicious and plenty full!! Also had the sushi sandwich and egg rolls they were excellent as well ...overall we all have a very enjoyable pleasant tasty dinner would not hesitate to go good back again!!
It was Christmas Eve, and we were looking for a good place to dine, quietly just two of us. This was soooooo perfect! The service was excellent. My husband ordered a scallop dish, and was delighted, claiming that it was "the" best scallop dish he had ever eaten. It was perfect for our purpose, and the cost was quite reasonable.
