The food was good not great some people ordered a wedge salad which had red peppers that were spoiled so we told the waitress and she did not care no one ate the red peppers on their salad. We had been there before they need a revamp of everything
Food was great, service was very slow. One waitress for the floor and one bartender. Not sure if she was forgetful or overwhelmed
The restaurant was in a hotel, and although we made a reservation, when we arrived a sign said "seat yourself". The food was all overly sweet, including the calamari and the apple and walnut salad that had no greens. There was only one waitress who brought our drinks one at a time. Not impressed.
we really enjoyed our meals.....very pleasantly surprised......
We've always had great meals at Jackson's. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the appetizers are innovative and good.
Our experience was better this time than last. Hannah our server was wonderful. I ordered the Beef bourguignon which was different but tasty. The meat was superb but the giant glob of sour cream was not necessary. I prefer egg noodles to the penne noodles they served with it. My husband enjoyed the margarita pizza.
Our cloth napkins were damp and we asked for dry ones but were given cocktail napkins. I think they try to be a fine dining but the atmosphere is more upscale casual.
Still, it was a nice evening out for us. The quiet atmosphere is refreshing.
We chose Jackson's because the dining room is a guiet setting for conversation and the food is always good, we were not disappointed!
Disappointing. Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for food quality. I will not be going back there.
Jackson's remain a good restaurant. Highlight is the hostess and wait staff and their dedication. Atmosphere is relaxed.
I am concerned that the grilled chicken is becoming dried out again. I could cut it but it was definitely not tender. There was a period where the chicken was of so very tender. Even friends who are not foodies mentioned how tender. Perhaps a new chef?
As a celiac I appreciate the grilled chicken, or salmon w/ an upcharge, and the fun veggies served along side. Lunch Specials are priced reasonably which is especially good for retirees.
Thank you for the opportunity to give a review.
Best wishes!
Very reliable for great food and drinks in a quiet, lovely atmosphere. And if you are lucky enough to have Kathy as your server, you will definitely have an enjoyable experience!
I tried booking for Mother's Day brunch. Opentable saved reservation but when I called to be sure, restaurant told me nothing was available.... so we didn't go
I am very unhappy that I have not been awarded the 1000 points I was promised. We kept our reservation, we were 5 minutes early, spent a good deal of money, and have not been awarded the points. I called them to ask why and they said they would look into it. No response back! Not happy!
Menu on open table wasn't correct, offering was very limited
Everything was well organized & delicious choices of food...
Jackson's sure know how to cook their chicken. Always to perfection. Thank you chefs.
Simply overpriced...if it was cheaper I'd have no complaints, but for what they charge you expect more...
Made a reservation. Turned out I was the only reservation. Upon entering the restaurant you can smell the chlorine from the hotel pool. Lots of bar noise. Ordered the peppercorn crusted steak. Not a peppercorn to be seen or tasted. Took my wife there for her birthday and put that info on the reservation. No acknowledgement from the staff (one person). Overall, very average. Was disappointed with the experience for the price.
Michele was our waitress - always smiling, makes lunch pleasant, takes care of every little detail, very good waitress.
Thanks to the Chef, the chicken was outstanding, very tender and succulent and always paired with a perfectly cooked vegetable. Fresh coffee.
Thank you Jackson's.
Food was exceptionally good. Service was a little slow. They needed more servers. It took forever for our cocktails to arrive, and they should have been complimentary at that point.
We had a reservation for Christmas Eve. The place was empty and the server for the evening was also the bar tender. The main course and dessert were good, but the service and everything else was lacking. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're out of other options.
The food and service was much, much better this year. We always go around the holidays for a business lunch, so I can compare each year to the last. There was a problem wit the seating however. We were seated next to the private dining room and the person in our party that was seated near the door kept getting hit with the door as servers and guests exited that room. Not a pleasant experience for her. Our server was excellent. There were, however, not enough menus to go around and we had to share. That was a little ridiculous.
Had a party of 9 for a birthday celebration. Waited almost an hour to order. Drinks were t filled, and the waitress was not at all knowledgeable about the menu. Was 90 minutes between being sat and getting served our food. Did I mention that the place was empty!?! We were the only table with people eating... on a Tuesday night at 6! Wonder why!!
The food was top notch though.. everything was delicious and hot.
Great food but terrible service. Also messed up the bill several times. Billed my card twice for the same dinner
Staying at a neighboring hotel, saw some good reviews on open table and gave it a try. Unfortunately I cannot make a good review. The place was under staffed, the service was therefore very slow and the foot was just bad. My chicken wings were under cooked, my wife's burger was not as advertised. The server was nice and deserved more help. The server would get a '5', but the "service only gets a '2' because they were so understaffed, she could not find time to check on us and food out of the kitchen took way too long.
I've been to Jackson's several times. All were good experiences until this past one. The service was TERRIBLE, we had to wait forever for our food and the food was not as good as it was in the past.
Normally, I can forgive one bad experience. However, this experience was so bad that I do not know if I will ever go back.
There was no one at the front when we arrived. Found a server that seemed as if he didnt want to wait on us. Claimed he checked us in for our reservation but did not. Chicken wings and lobster mac and cheese was great. Didnt have soup or pasta that was on menu. Ribs were cold, on a hot plate..makes no sense. Nice touch with tv at table. I expected more for the amount we paid, and better service. Appreciated the young lady at the bar that helped us.
Most always 100% satisfied; however, on occasion one of the chefs, allows an overcooked chicken breast to make it to the table. Couldn't cut it. Didn't eat it. The veggies were served to perfection. This happened Monday. Waitress returned and said we voided your check and rightly so. The waitress did receive her tip!
It's nice to be remembered. Can't eat just anywhere as GF and soy free. Try to eat all organic. A former boss took me to lunch for my 75th.
Blessings,
Cheryl
We were supposed to be in the dining room but it was apparent that they were trying to avoid seating there Used to be a nice atmosphere and good meal. Now just felt like a hotel restaurant.
After dropping our son off at Robert Morris University for the start of his college journey. I thought I would treat my wife to a nice dinner to unwind and enjoy our accomplishment. Unfortunately after being promptly seated for our 6:30PM reservation we were basically just ignored for the next 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn't very busy and nobody even bothered to take our drink order. We were seated in the bar area and several waitresses including the bartender could clearly see that we were unintended for at least 15 minutes. I am in business and this lack of customer service is atrocious , especially for a restaurant that bills itself on the higher end of dining. I will never go here again.
Our waitress was great. However, to arrive at a restaurant that has no one at the front desk for several minutes is bizarre. Also, they phone goes to voice mail, so when we were running a few minutes late, I could not reach the restaurant. I did change the time on open table, but when I said I reserved through Open Table the looked at me like they had never even heard of Open Table. The food was good, the service was slow, but I am used to Seattle where service is excellent.
This was a business meeting and not paid by me. Dinner was excellent. I've been to your restaurant for breakfast and lunch, but never dinner. My husband and I dine out quite frequently for dinner. I will not hesitate to visit Jackson's again for dinner.
Great food not crowded great service good location We have visited before but when you want to go out on a Friday night and everywhere is packed this is the perfect spot.
Great service and the short ribs were outstanding!
Visited w/classmate on the patio enjoying a healthy lunch of grilled chicken w/veggies. Only disappointment was the grilled chicken was dry. Waiter gave us the right amount of attention. There was a warm breeze and the flowers were lovely and the patio was quiet. A wonderful way to visit w/ friend from years gone by.
P.S. The chairs are metal and uncomfortable but, aha, I had two chair pads in the trunk of my car. SMILE!
was not aware of limited menu due to Mother's Day and the limited service personnel as a result delayed service somewhat
The food was VERY good. The service was not so good. It was Mother's Day brunch and they seemed to be either short staffed or disorganized or both. I ordered a drink before brunch which never came. The staff did not appear to have well defined sections or duties so you never knew who was really supposed to be helping you. Also they appeared short on bussers as plates piled up until someone noticed, etc. Service could have been better. Again, the food was GREAT.
My friend and I went to Jackson's to celebrate our Birthdays. First of all the booths in the bar area, are all split and old looking. This is the second time we have had the waitress we had, she was very rude and pushy. We ordered coffee and were opening our gifts, and she said "the chef would like to know when you two are going to order"!! The place was empty, and when we were half way through our meal, she wanted to clear our dishes away. I have been there on a few big events, and lunches. I will never go back, and I intend telling my friends about this experience.
The food here was impeccable! Everything was cooked to perfection and wine selection was just what we were looking for. And our waiter was outstanding! Best service and food we've had in a while.
Great dining experience!!!
The food was terrible. The main course was over cooked and dry. It is way to expensive for such bad food.
