Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub At The Brewhouse Inn & Suites Ratings and Reviews
Great food and fun atmosphere, especially before the Admirals and Bucks game Saturday.
Service was slow and sometimes non-attentive from our server Brian, but that aside we had a great time.
They could have had their shuttle include the Admirals game attendees. Admirals game was at 6:00 pm and the Bucks at 7:30 pm. Seems they only cater to the Bucks games for the shuttle, so keep that in mind. I know we will, as we were a party of 5 going to the Admirals game and decided to take a cab as one of our folks has a torn hamstring and could not walk it.
Great business lunch around the noon hour. Service was excellent as was the service. Noise level was really good for a discussion although having been there on a Saturday night for dinner prior to an Admirals game along with the Bucks game...noise level was VERY high!!
I ordered baked cod which was rubbery - I told the waitress I was gluten free and she brought me a salad with croutons on it, my fish came with bread. They came up as a gluten friendly restaurant when googled....we all felt they were rushing us out - not my favorite place.
My friends and I were visiting Milwaukee for a weekend, touring various breweries. With this restaurant being the ground floor of the former Pabst Brewery, we HAD to check it out. It is a neat historical building. The menu is upscale bar food, and our food was very good (especially the cheese curds). I plan to go there again!
We wanted to try this place so we went with friends for my wife's birthday celebration. I made reservations for 7 and they jammed us into a table for 6 with many larger tables open. Server said those were reserved but NO one sat there the 1.5 hrs that we were there. Server was more concerned with waiting on the patio than inside. Service was very poor had to get own drinks and refills, food was cold and fair at best server never even brought utensils to the table I had to go to the bar a scrounge then up. Just overall disappointing. What a shame. Very cool location, to bad.
Pretty much a sports & beer bar. The food was excellent for the price. Salmon BLT was nicely prepared and their hand-cut fries are awesome.
It's a very noisy place and conversation was a bit difficult. Service was average as was the ambiance.
If you're into loud sports bars with televisions everywhere, you'll find good food for a good value. Beer and wine were particularly great values.
Graduation quick bite and had no reservation. We were able to get in with OpenTable which was great and super convenient. BUT....Waiter forgot one entree out of 5 and it was for the graduate!! She had to wait 15 minutes while we all ate as we had to get someone in our party to the airport.
We met at Jackson's at the Pabst development before the Bucks playoff game. While the space was very loud, the service was responsive and the environment was comfortable. The menu was casual food, but was prepared rapidly and quality was excellent. The beer selection was also very good. We took advantage of the shuttle to the game, but walked back. Parking on game day was not a particular value at $15, but better than ramps and lots closer to the arena.
Great venue, casual atmosphere in a great area of Milwaukee. Nice tap selection and an equally nice offering of cocktails. Food was OK, I recommend sticking with the basics. Although the wings were very good. I had the grilled cheese BLT; nothing special. All I could taste was whatver fat substitute they used on the bread. My friends agreed that food was good but nothing was great.
Service was spotty as well. The kitchen brought the wrong app to our table; it took our server about 10 minutes to check on us so we didn't wait and started eating. Our server's response: "Oops." He seemed like he would have rather been anywhere else but working that night.
As said, great ambiance; I hope they up their game and succeed.
Had perch fish fry and it was OK but would not go back for it again. Said it was lightly dusted and they were not kidding. Was not enough coating and the fish was not fried to a crispy brown. Looked pale and unappetizing.
Fresh cut fries were not fresh but limp and only warn.
Coleslaw was very small container.
Giant pretzel was very good.
Wanted their signature Bloody Mary but was told they were out of their vodka. Disappointing on a busy Friday night with Bucks game. Should be ready for large crowd.
Great spot! We went before a packer game and hit some great drink specials. Our server was very engaging and recommended good apps and sandwiches. Food came quickly and the service was attentive. The pretzel and cheese curds were dynamite. The burger was very good as well. We will go back!
When we got there and was seated after 5 minutes we weren't be served yet I went and said something to hostess. A waitress came right away comped our first drink and had some good recommendations for food I had cod my girlfriend had the Reuben. The food was excellent our server was excellent we will be visiting the Brewhouse and Jackson's pub again I give them 5 stars.
Great service by our waitress. Cheese curds were outstanding. Plates and empty glasses were promply cleared. We were surprised that with an early 430pm reservation and with all the open tables we were put in front of the entrance door in December???
Anyways, oh well, we like the casual atmosphere. Beer was cold as usual. And having an uncle that years ago worked for the old Old Style plant in LaCrosse his whole life, we will always have a soft spot for the company. Godspeed Uncle Dean.
When we arrived at the checkin desk, we were not greeted - in spite of there being at least 4 staff members congregated around the desk. None of them were smiling, cheerful or welcoming. We immediately felt like an inconvenience. I told them we had reservations and one of the staff members looked us up and without saying a word to us, handed menus to another staff member who seated us. The restaurant was empty - including all of the booths. Instead of asking us if we wanted to sit in a booth, she seated us at a table right near the main thoroughfare. My wife asked if we could sit in a booth instead - and she consented, but not happily. Our reservations were on Friday and we came to try the fish fry - yet we were not given the fish fry menu when we were seated. We had to ask our server for it. When our fish fries arrived (the perch) it was a pale white color. It looked horribly unappetizing. The taste was somewhat fishy and definitely not great. Fries and onion rings were acceptable, cole slaw and rye roll were good. The star of the entire night - fortunately or unfortunately - was our server Abby. She was positively sweet, delightful and very attentive throughout our entire meal. Sad to say, we won't be back nor will we recommend Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub to our friends.
Went for a Friday fish fry. Wanted to sit outside but a large group had the entire area. Four of us had the lightly breaded perch and two had pizza. Food was just OK, nothing special but my big problem was that is was served lukewarm, barely about room temperature...had to be sitting for quite awhile before it got to our table. Fish is only good when served hot...not so much when its not. Jackson's was recommended to me. I might go again and give it another try now that my expectations have been appropriately lowered.
