The host broke a glass from my table and I walked out bleeding and in pain with a ruined pair of $190 dress pants. DID NOT RECEIVE AN APOLOGY. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WALK AWAY BLEEDING!!!
Eggs Benedict was good and food came out quickly. Loved the Peach Bellini!
The service was great even though they got completely slammed and didn’t have enough servers. The food however was subpar and over priced. This was my second time going and both times were disappointing.
The food was just ok. The grits were not good at all in my opinion. Overall, the food was overpriced based upon the execution. Given that there is an abundance of brunch spots throughout the area, I would be unlikely to return.
The restaurant has undergone slight remodeling to a more open table setting. It’s still nice but the lighting needs rethinking. The food continues to be great. Oysters are always fresh and tasty and main courses are great as well . The rainbow trout was fantastic and the giant hamburger my son ordered disappeared. The desserts are also consistently good.
The best crab cakes!
My husband and I love Jackson 20...they have fabulous crab cakes...but other dishes are great too...and won't break the bank. Great bar.
Service is friendly. Food is bland and overpriced. The salad “bar” is disappointing
HORRIBLE experience ~ dirty floors; tables left unbussed; arrived at 11:45a for brunch only to be told that they stopped brunch at 11a; food never came after waiting 40+ minutes, so we left; decor is hodge-podge and random, conveying a feeling of scattered confusion, no cohesion; menu completely limited. J20 arguably has potential because of its location and affiliation with The Alexandrian, but it needs a TOTAL overhaul of image, management and menu. Will never return under current management, and will steer friends / family FAR AWAY from J20 in its current state.
Although I felt like our server was not very attentive to my table in particular the food was really good. Not sure whether it was because he wasn't interested or short staffed. We will be back regardless.
I went to Jackson20 for brunch and it was delicious. Mimosas were on special for $3. Good selection of food for brunch. The place was busy but my waiter was calm and quick. Would definitely go back!
We went for Sunday Brunch on my Birthday. We had reservations but had to wait 15 mins to be seated. It was very busy. The waiter did his best to serve us in a limited time. The Crab Cakes Benedict were delicious and so was the Stew. Just did not have enough time to really enjoy the ambiance or get a cup of coffee. The waiter did fill up our Mimosas free of charge. We will allow ourselves extra time when we come next time.
Jackson 20 is a nice, upscale hotel restaurant. I dined here with my husband and sister-in-law on Friday night. My husband loved the brisket. Atmosphere was pleasant, service was good. I did think a bit pricey - bill came to $120 for the three of us. I think serving bread at dinner would be a nice touch. Cornbread was offered but for an additional cost.
Very nice ambiance. The food was ok. It probably would have taste better if the waiter didn't bring my plate out with visible hair in my food. I sent it back before he could finish placing it on the table. I'm pretty sure I won't be back.
Don’t even bother! Worst birthday dinner I’ve ever had. I typically prefer to contact the establishment directly and I did this time too. Never heard anything back from them which in my book means they don’t give a damn about their customers.
We ate here for weekend brunch as part if our hotel package. The crabcake Benedict was delish! Service was great. Only thing is they don't have tablemats even for early part of the day.
Disclaimer: my rating/review is not about eating food but my experience with the waiter, changed and noise level!!
I was excited to experience this restaurant with my husband as part of his birthday celebration and a break from our usual restaurants.
After viewing the menu days prior, we arrive and menu had been changed. My husband does not eat red meat and recently expanded to eating fish therefor he was hoping to get the salmon or his usual - chicken. Well, they had been removed and the salad he wanted wasn't there either.
The waiter came to our table and when we asked about the menu he informed us that it had been changed due to the new chef, he then asked if we needed more time, we did so he left! He returned almost 20 minutes later and by this time I am slightly annoyed.
In an effort to make the best of the situation, I asked if there were still some items from the old menu that could be offered because I have been to restaurants that no longer have items in the menu but if you request them they are available but no such luck. He proceeds to tell us to just try this and that because although it isn't salmon it is "fish" and Its good! That would've worked for me but not for my husband and considering this celebration was for him, I did not want him to settle moreover he is not very explorative in the food department. I try to explain that we had our hearts set on something yet he was very dismissive. Even when I asked about the long wait, he non-chalantly said I have other tables yet I only say him at one.
He left again and when he returned, we thanked him and left!!!
Even though I made this restaurant prior to restaurant week (didn't realize it was coming) I just don't understand changing the menu during restaurant week. I know they do a "featured" or "prix fixe" menu but changing the main menu was bad timing IMO!
This was a celebration for my granddaughter receiving her masters degree and it was a disaster! After being seated we could not seem to keep our server. She kept disappearing. So after 30 minutes we finally got her to take our orders except for me. She forgot me and I was the person who was giving her details about the checks. Then we waited (12 of us) for dinner, appetizers, something to eat even though I asked her about the food twice. Finally I talked to the manager and we started to receive some food. We got there at 7:15 pm; did not eat until after 9:20. Everyone especially my granddaughter was upset. Never again!!!
Food was pretty good not excellent but not awful. Overall was well cooked but could have used a bit more flavor. Had sauerkraut and pierogies both of which lacked flavor. Maybe I'm spoiled because I am from Chicago where we have great examples of both due to massive Polish community. However my husband had brisket and wasn't overly impressed either. Then witnessed table next to us adding salt and butter to their bbq platter sides so I suspect wasn't just us. I asked for horseradish which figured they had since featured in other menu item. I was nearly done with my meal 20 mins later before it came. We also never had our water carafe replaced/refilled, etc. We went somewhere else to get more drinks and desserts. Overall not bad and I would try again, however seemingly could be better.
Brunch was yummy. We were excited our meals were able to be tweaked to accommodate our allergies.
I had the brisket, it was tough the mashed potatoes seemed to be instant and were very dry with no taste.
Food was great and the staff very friendly - food took longer to come out than what we expected - must have been a very busy time in the kitchen. Portions are generous.
Noise level was pretty high and having a conversation got difficult at times.
Enjoyed our first visit. Good food, comfortable, able to converse. Service great and timely.
Birthday. Part of 10. Reservation made well in advance indicating birthday celebration. Waitress unfriendly, inattentive, and didn’t initiate separate checks. We weren’t complicated with our orders, did not order multiple rounds of food nor drinks, and only asked for about 5 separate checks total. Not impressed and not inclined to return.
Staff was very helpful and very willing to go the extra mile to make up for very small mistakes. Felt very well-served and special.
Food was priced reasonably and the mimosas were a great deal!
My coffee was barely warm. I think they were understaffed. The food wasn’t very warm and the hash browns had no seasoning. Loved the feel of the place but as far a a brunch venue... for it being so crowded food was sub par.
Enjoyed my time there, and the chicken breast were super juicy and flavorful!!
Nice atmosphere but we weren't exactly wowed by the Sunday brunch. It's just average. The tab was high considering that none of us had alcohol, seafood or steak, just normal fare. The portions were large, which might be attractive for some diners but for us, it added up to a large check and a lot of uneaten food. Omelets were bland.
Service good, friendly. Food was good and bountiful. Enjoyed our dinner.
Definitely worth going to. Try the fried chicken and the mac 'n cheese.
It was a great experience. The server was excellent. They greatly accommodated our party’s 2-year old. The food was magnificent.
The food was decent but the dining room and bar are completed connected and it's way too loud to hear the person sitting across from you. They need to wall off the bar and/or put in some sound absorption materials so it doesn't echo so much
We went here for brunch, and the service was terrible. It took 40 minutes after ordering to receive our starter. Before we received it, I checked with the server to make sure he knew we’d like the starter prior to our entrees, since it was taking an abnormally long time to come out, and he got very defensive and blamed the kitchen. However, the table next to us had the same server, and they sat down and ordered their meal after we did, and they received there food and were almost done by the time our starter came out. So I don’t think it was the kitchen. My bet is he forgot, which is fine, we all make mistakes, but an apology for the delay would have been appreciated. I probably won’t be visiting this restaurant anytime soon.
Great Place! It was my fathers' birthday.. He really had a great time with family
It was just awful. Two other groups without reservations were seated before us and got drinks before us. After waiting 18 minutes we asked the hostess if we could get a server. Asking the hostess again (who was texting on her phone the whole time) if we could get could please get a server or least place a drinks order. After 30 minutes a busboy was finally sent to the table to take our orders. Later, an actual server came by and had to retake our order as the busboy didn’t understand the menu (nor should he have to) and he made excuses that it was short staffed despite no less than four other servers walking around and that it was busy despite several open tables. We were really looking forward to sharing this place (we’ve had positive experiences and really talked this place up so it was really embarrassing) with a friend for her birthday but it was just a mess from beginning to end.
The service was slow and half the orders were wrong. Luckily, they were able to fix it very quickly so maybe it was just telling the food runner to take the wrong stuff. Tables were dirty surrounding us - no prebusing. It seemed like rather than pick up stuff off tables on the way back to the kitchen they were waiting for the bus service to do it. Waiter seemed rushed to bring us our check like he had somewhere else to be.
I really enjoyed my visit. The food was perfectly seasoned and came out in a reasonable time. Shrimp & Grits, Oysters, Cheese Ravioli, Grilled Salmon, MAC n Cheese and cornbread were all DELICIOUS!! our waitress was very knowledgeable about the items we wanted to try and her recommendations were on point. I’ll definitely go back!
Overall the menus looked appetizing. When asking to order they were “OUT” of many of the staple items. ( From wine to 4 things on the menu). Was disappointed in not being able to order anything that I wanted. I even asked the waiter, “what do you have left?”
This is a Hotel restaurant which I generally avoid but this is a good one. Especially great for breakfast or weekend brunch.
Food is good but this is the second time it took over an hour to get our food. You need more servers.
Gathering with some out of town guests for breakfast. It was a fantastic time and by reserving online we were able to be seated within the first 10 minutes of arriving.
