I used to be a BIG fan of jacksons, i’ve been going there since it firts opened. I have to say that its quality has quite unfortunately decreased substantially. They used to make delicious, well seasoned food you wanted to come back for. The only thing worth the money now is their cornbread and the bar menu. It’s overpriced for its current quality. I’m not sure if it’s a complacency thing or just a kitchen staf thing, but it’s definitely not what it used to be. The staff is always pleasant and they make it the experience better. But as nice as they are, it doesnt quite make up for overpaying for mediocre food, which is sad because it used to be superb.

Incredibly poor service. The place was less than a quarter full and everything took excessively long, drinks, food, check. It seemed like no one was talking any personal responsibility for any of the tables. Sometimes a team approach can work but this doesn’t. Food was underwhelming. I had the ribs and they were pretty pedestrian quality but I did enjoy the collard greens side. The food and service may have been acceptable if it was less pricey but dinner for four with one drink each for just under $200 was a rip off. There are too many better options in old town to ever get me back into Jackson 20.

I was very excited about finally trying Jackson 20 but was quickly disappointed. It was a very cold day, so my co-worker and I decided to have corn & pepper chowder with crab meat. When we receive the soup, it was very cold. We asked for the soup to be heated up, when we received it back it went from being creamy and flavorful to watery and tasteless. Our entrees ( Waldorf Salad and Buttermilk Fried Chicken) were warm but just "ok". The restaurant had maybe three tables including ours at lunch, but it still seemed difficult to reach our server when needed. This was not the experience that I expected. I would not return again.

Well, I've been there before and it was fine, but we went for New Years days brunch and they obviously had some issue in the kitchen. They were working hard but were very backed up. We waited about 50 mintutes from ordering to getting our food. They did take 20% off the bill and notified us of the delays.
I wouldn't recommend ever going during cold weather though. The air comes right through the doors into the front of the restaurant. We were freezing.

Food was ok but any positives were taken away by the horrible service. Did not bring entrees out together so I had to send mine back because it was cold from waiting for others to arrive. We had to consistently ask for more drinks even water. I know the manager knew what was going on but did nothing to placate the situation. For something that bad, I would have expected at least an apology but nothing.

I would not go back again.

Food was barely warm when it was brought out and the service was lacking. I know it was a holiday evening, but we had to flag down a waiter for water and we had random pieces of silverware on the table and a rouge glass. The wine was bitter and my drink was flat and over priced with way too much vodka. The restaurant seemed to continuously get colder and colder as the night went on and we could not get warm. Our desserts were amazing and the main entree was delicious, but too cold when we got it. We would've asked for another entree hot but we had waited long enough and we were hungry. I would like to come back for brunch and when it's quiet to experience it again. Overall, lovely restaurant but we really wanted to get 5 start and got 3 1/2. Thank you to the manager for stopping by and our nice waiter who made the effort to get my husband a fresh glass of wine, even though the kitchen had no more wine glasses to spare.

I would not recommend this restaurant at all! I order the chicken and biscuits, and while the chicken was more or less fine, the biscuits were burnt. I exchanged the burnt biscuits for a waffle, which was cold and burnt. Also, the waiter rarely checked up on our table, so I had to contact other waiters for my requests. I will definitely not be returning!

This was an awful Christmas Eve experience. The food was sub par at best and certainly not worth the $39 per person fixed price. The service was abysmal. There were no vegetarian options on the fixed menu. Horrible experience.

We have come to Jackson 20 for Christmas Eve for four years in a row. The restaurant is not the same since it has been purchased by Marriott. We arrived this year to discover that a special menu was in place even though this was not identified on the website. I was advised when we were seated that people had been called. I have the transcript of the voice message confirming my reservation and there was no mention of a holiday meal. This was problematic for my family because there are two vegetarians and one who is allergic to gluten. The meal had limited gluten free options and no vegetarian options. We were told that we would be accomodated by the hotel manager and then when seated, we had to have mutliple conversations with the restaurant manager and server about whether we could be accomodated. This took 20 minutes. We left before having the dessert course because service was slow and were headed to church. Our second course was never cleared from the table. It was a disaster and a truly unpleasant Christmas Eve meal. Even though forty dollars was taken of our meal (39.00 per person), I would never return here. I had come for brunch previously and tables were uncleared, there were not enough servers, and it took 45 minutes before our order was taken. I thought this was due to a crazy brunch day on a warm fall day. Now I know that this is the new norm at Jackson 20. We won't be back.

My wife and I have been to Jackson 20 many times and have always enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and outstanding food. On our last visit there the hostess was somewhat less than remarkable. She did not appear to put any thought into where she seated people or how to market the restaurant. We were the first people to be seated that evening and she proceeded to seat us right at the front door. Drafty cold and noisy. When asked why she had chosen that location she responded with the fact that all the tables were reserved (not true). When I inquired about a table at the other end on the row she said that table was open? I guess they had a cancellation while we were talking. We also had reservations. The rest of the staff was exceptional. I would highly recommend Jaxson 20 to anyone. Just remember to TELL the hostess where you are sitting and do not leave it up to her.

We've been here for anniversary dinners past as well as brunch and it was fantastic. Sadly, the food offered now is not up to the standards they set originally. Menu very close but there simply wasn't much flavor or skill in execution. Sadly we may not be back.

Noticed bar noisy right to dinning area as soon as you walk in. Food was good for meat lovers specially 2 person eat together for $50 wasn't bad. Meat were tender and we'll seasoned but not salty. Service was ok and hostess at the door or waiters were just basic. Need to welcome with more smile to customers. Could not hear what waiter was recommending, either for noises or he's accents...it wasn't clearly understanding what he was saying. Price is very reasonable for Old Town Alex. This is just dinner experience w/o drinking. I would take my old folks there for special dinner since they like good American meaty food:)

The food and service was great, but we were at a table at the back of the restaurant that was awkwardly placed in the path of the kitchen. It was by the back door that was letting in a cold draft so I had to eat with my coat on. Overall, it was a good experience. It would have been much better if we had any other table.

Ordered the beef brisket hash. With medium to hard pouched eggs with toast. The beef was bland. The eggs where runny and we weren’t offered any choice in bread for the toast. Probably the worst breakfast I’ve had in years. Waste of money. The staff didn’t show any interest or competence. Very disappointed

Have dined here before, but it seemed like they didn’t have the A-team working when my family met up with friends. We’d reserved a table and clearly indicated 4 kids and 4 adults but the table wasn’t ready when we arrived for our 715 reservation, nor did the staff expedite prepping the table once it did finally open up. We stood around with the kids for quite a while, and when we were finally seated, it took forever to get in our orders. They did bring the kids’ meals out quickly but that meant the kids were finished with their food and antsy by the time the grownups’ plates came out. We assumed the restaurant was just overwhelmed but that was a little weird and not a great excuse given that it was a Saturday night in Old Town, with well-publicized holiday events going on. Won’t go back any time soon.

Breakfast on a busy Saturday in old town. Great coffee. Pancakes were flat and doughy. Disappointing. Had to request butter. Bacon was great, as was the oatmeal. We were not rushed but coffee should've come faster, given the time of day.

Overall very good! Would go back for sure. This was thanksgiving and they weren’t packed so we could still get in! Salad was good, sides wer a good number of choices too. Main dishes were all good, but the beef was a little under seasoned, but cooked well - but it’s ahiut the turkey anyway! As opposed to while Turkey, they served what looked like turkey “tenderloins” - very moist and flavorful, but not carved turkey. Desserts were plentiful, and even thought brought in boxes (made/purchased elsewhere), they were good. They didn’t have all the soup offerings from online, and getting the check was a little slow, they didn’t rush you and quality over all was good! I’d like to try them on a normal evening as I like the atmosphere!

We went for thanksgiving dinner, $55 per person, the meats at the carving station were cold and very salty, and they seemed to run out of all the sides, we had to wait on several different things and that was after we brought it to the waiters attention. I have never been there for their regular meals but the thanksgiving meal was a disappointment especially for the price.

This is not the Jackson 20 that was managed by Kimpton. Marriott's incarnation is a shambles. Servers do not "get" service and the cooking quality has greatly diminished. When we asked for more coffee the server came by and just poured partial cups and we had to ask for more - the more coffee he brought was extremely bitter - somebody is not paying attention to the task. Food was just OK - don't think we got the advertised Applewood bacon but something poorly cooked - scrambled eggs were rubbery but the French Toast was good. Nobody ever came by to ask how the food was. Server seemed more interested in moving us out versus "serving." Don't anticipate being backed even for the $5 weekday specials.

The waiter was one of the worst servers I have ever had at any restaurant. I had to ask repeatedly for things and he still forgot to bring them. He was so bad a new person on their first night would have been better. The salad came out after the entree. The appetizer came out without plates or utensils. We ordered the shared BBQ platter. The ribs were burnt and the brisket was dry. The waiter dropped utensils on the floor and plates. The restaurant also ran out of glassware and did not bring us more to drink. When the bottled water was dropped off at the table it was placed directly in front of me between my plate and me as I was taking a bite of my food. Very awkward.

Not a good experience at all. The only reason this place will survive is because it is located in a hotel. $165.00 for 4 people (2 glasses of wine and one appetizer) was not worth it at all.

I had company visiting me from California, so I brought them to Jackson 20 for dinner. It was my very first visit there and they did pretty well except for the Field Pea Hummus which was very runny and a bit blah in taste---I DO NO RECOMMEND and WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN. I worked for a private chef for eight years and HUMMUS is NOT runny. It is CREAMY. We also had the Farmers Beet Salad which was just fine. Then we had the Rockfish which was outstanding with an extra side of collard greens. I give this meal FOUR out of FIVE stars because of the blah, runny hummus.
