Jackson 20 - The Alexandrian

Place was super loud for being half to 1/4 full. Food was uninspiring.
Thank you for dining with us and we apologize for the lack of experience. We appreciate your honest feedback and take every comment into consideration for improvement. Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
I loved Jackson 20 as a brunch spot but its been a few years since I last went. I was surprised at the quality of the food for dinner. It was definitely just "meh" and not worth the price. The chicken was dry, the mashed potatoes overly peppered and the sauted spinach was greasy. My fiance had the monkfish and also found it underwhelming. The dessert was described as having both peaches and berries but only had peaches and was overbaked. The service was EXCELLENT but did not make up for paying more for the food than it was worth.
Hi Sarah, Thank you for dining with us and for your feedback. We appreciate any feedback that will help improve our food quality. I'm happy hear that our service was excellent! We hope you will give us another chance and dine with us again soon. Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
I have actually told everyone that I know NOT to EVER eat at this place! The service was HORRIBLE and the food was even worse!
They did not have the food that I ordered which I did not get notified of until the rest of my parties food was being brought out! I then ordered the chicken and waffles although I should have listened to the warning of another disappointed patron at the front of the restaurant. IT WAS EASILY THE WORST MEAL THAT I'VE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT!!!
Thank you for dining with us and I apologize for the service and food quality you received. Your feedback will help us improve our service and elevate our food quality. We strive to provide the best service and food and do hope that you will give us another chance. Kinds Regards, Sylvia C.
I’ve been here many times...usually I love it for the atmosphere, food, service, and most importantly BRUNCH MIMOSAS! But the last time I went the service was bad, they changed the mimosas to $10 per mimosa instead of $3 per mimosa for brunch and our appetizer came out with our food instead of before, it wasn’t hot, and we saw our waiter about 2 times the entire time we were there. We had to keep asking other people to help us. I don’t know that we’ll be back.
Thank you for dining with us. Your feedback will help us improve not only our service, but your future dining experience. We hope you will give us another chance and dine with us again.
I was disappointed with the service because I made a reservation the day before to have brunch with my family on my birthday. We arrived 10 minutes before the time of the reservation and still had to wait 25 minutes for the staff to prepare a table. After we all ordered our food, we sat there for 30 minutes only for it to be revealed to us that our table's order was "lost". When we finally got our food we were too annoyed to fully enjoy it. The food was great and our server was did cut our bill in half because of the terrible service we received. Definitely will never eat here again.
Thank you for dining with us and your honest feedback. I apologize for your dining experience with us. We strive to make every dining experience with us enjoyable and stress-free. We will take your feedback and share it with our team to help improve our guest service. We do hope that you will give us another chance and dine with us again. Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
Seemed to be understaffed, food was under seasoned not a great experience overall which is a shame because we’ve been coming here for years.
Thank you for your feedback. This will help us improve our service and food quality. We hope that you will give us another chance and dine with us again. Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
This was a very special day for us and Jackson 20 made it even more special. The staff took wonderful care of us, the food was delicious and the drinks were very tasty. It was the perfect finish to our engagement night! 👍🏼
Congratulations on the engagement, Lauren! Thank you dining with us and we're so glad that we were able to help your celebrate your engagement night. Please visit us again soon!
Our group of 11 diners were delighted with the delicious food and helpful friendly service. And it was quiet enough to talk! A lively lunch spot!
Thank you for dining with us. We're so delighted you had a great dining experience with us! Please visit us again soon.
Wonderful staff and delicious food! I would def recommend the BELT and the Blackberry Fizz.
I’ve been here years ago for dinner and finally got the chance to visit it for brunch. It was delicious and surprisingly the portions were mighty. I plan to return!
Breakfast with friends
Fantastic place for Sunday Brunch! We had a reservation for 9 AM, were seated immediately, and enjoyed prompt service with a knowledgeable waiter in an elegantly casual, comfortable environment. The food's delicious (one exception being the chicken and waffles - chicken a little dry - maybe over-fried (waffle scrumptious with fresh fruit salad included). Other winning choices were the brisket hash (delish), the eggs benedict with crabcake, and the turkey club. The place was humming with patrons by 9:30.....definitely recommend and will be back (can't beat the free parking, service, and the food - something for everyone!
Went for brunch and we were sat immediately but then we had to wait over a half hour for anyone to come over to us. I asked for our drinks waitress asked us to order and explained that my sister was parking and would be right there and the waitress kept asking us to order when I said that I wanted to wait till my sister got there. She asked 3 times and stood there it wasn’t busy. I work in restaurants so I’m very understanding but this was ridiculous. I love Jackson 20 but this visit was awful.
We certainly won't be back. Sliders with BBQ sauce so vinegary that it was barely edible. Chicken and Waffles with fried chicken that wasn't cooked all the way through and service that was slow, slow, slow. Luckily the people I was there with were great, or this would have been a total bust. Too many choices in Old Town to ever waste time here again. :(
Service was poor. Management not responsive.
The Resturant was a minimal capacity yet once the food was delivered no continuing service. I had to request the check after being left alone for 45 minutes without offering more water or more oj. Very disappointed, I have been looking for a place in the area to enjoy. I left truly disappointed.
The food and service at Jackson 20 is always great. I've been to that restaurant for brunch and dinner before and would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent place for brunch! Convenient location and food was amazing.
They messed up my reservation a little bit but were very accommodating in solving the mix-up. However, even after that our waiter was a bit off. He was really nice but not very attentive given the relative calmness of the restaurant at the time. But then he comp'd my friends birthday drink and dessert. Overall good but not always the best.
Hector was pleasant, professional and attentive. Now there were 2 things. When I called to ask questions about brunch back in February, they told me they offered a big bottle of champagne for mimosas and that I was not the case. We were disappointed that we had to pay either $9 for a glass of mimosa or $35 for a regular bottle. The other was a $3.50 per person if you brought your own cake, and they told me no charge when I called
But I will go back based on excellent food and service.
Food was absolutely delicious! Great service too!
The hostess was incredibly rude and it took 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table after we were sat, but the food was wonderful.
Our server Hector was excellent. Best eggs Benedict in Ild Town
This is my 2nd time in the restaurant. I enjoyed it just as much as the first.
Food was mediocre. Overcooked burgers and steak. Scallops were overly seasoned. Service was so slow and kids were disappointed that menu said their ice cream would come with cookies but the restaurant didn’t have cookies.
Yes. Lively atmosphere, comfortable seating, great decor, attentive waitstaff.
Our service was slow and not great. Had to ask for bread and everything else. Was not happy there at all.
Expected better food for the price. The chicken and waffles were nowhere near worth what I paid for them. Who wants bone in chicken with their waffles? Drinks were fine but pricey as well. Lots of options in Old Town, not sure I'd return here for brunch.
Drink prices are very pricey. Suggestion would be to serve a mid range price wine. between $9 and $11
Jackson 20 is a diamond in the rough...the pictures online don't do it justice...and the food was delicious, my waitress was a little pushy could have been a bit more friendly but overall a great place for first and future dates!!
LUV LUV LUV!1
First time for brunch, and definitely the last.
Corn fritters were just tasteless hush puppies. They claimed to have bits of meat and cheese, and all I tasted were globs of cold corn and dough.
My biscuits and gravy were ordered as part of my breakfast, but arrived with my appetizer. Then, when my meal finally arrived, it arrived cold to acconpany my now cold biscuits and gravy. Not to mention that the biscuits were essentially inedible.... the bottom halves were hard and uncuttable, even with a knife.
Service was slow and lazy, brought me the wrong beverage, no silverware, etc. etc... total waste of an afternoon, and a massive disappointment as I really enjoyed my dinners there previously.
Too many other places in Old Town that knock it out of the park. I will not waste my time here again.
Breakfast portion sizes were good. Service was prompt.
Nothing special. Ok.
I really wanted to like this place, the ambiance is great but from the moment I walked in—10 minutes before my reservation—things did not go well. They didn’t have a table ready (fine, it was Valentine’s Day), when I was finally seated, while the server was very friendly, she seemed overwhelmed and at points we had to flag her down. The food was ok, not anything special. It certainly didn’t warrant the almost hour wait for the food to be prepared. They did, however, make a goodwill gesture of a free dessert. Unfortunately, by that time dinner had already taken almost three hours and I was ready to leave.
This was the worst service I have ever gotten. We got seated on time and then waited 10-15 minutes for a server to first come to our table. She took our drink order and it took another 15 minutes to get our cocktails. The martini was served warm and we placed an order for a cheese board. We waited for 20 minutes and never got any food to our table. We told the manager that we were leaving at this point and she comped the drinks and we left. Absolutely terrible service and it was Valentine’s Day on top of it. Never again.
The endive salad was a mess and lacked color. The oil used to cook the mushrooms overtook the other sides which was disappointing because they were good. But the letdown was a “peach and summer fruit” small pie with ice cream. It only had pears. I made the waiter aware and his response was “sorry; I hope you enjoyed it. For the price it wasn’t worth the experience. Good drinks though.
The chef likes onions...everywhere onions
Maybe the food was terrible because the new chef just started. The rockfish was not cooked properly it was hard and stuck to the skin. The cobbler desert was missing the berries. Awful food.
Small menu but entrees don't disappoint, more seasoned appetizers would be appreciated.
All veggie omelette was poorly cooked with only the spinach not completely raw; no seasoning...potatoes were fine.
