I always love my experience at this restaurant. The Host was so kind to me, and made sure I got seated even though all the tables were full. The heat lamps made the experience cozy even on a 30 degree night.
Intreging menu, coupled with nice outdoor space and attentive service
Love Jacks Wife Freda but sometimes it seems there’s no lint in making a reservation with the amount of wait time involved
It was amazing service, food, ambience. I just wish the tables were father apart, with covid.
My husband and I enjoyed an excellent brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda. the patio was busy, but the service kept up and made sure everyone was taken care of in a timely manner. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back again soon.
After reserving the table for 2pm they gave us the table at 2.40 . Served hot tea to other folks waiting except us ( only min white around ) would not recommend this place to anyone
Food was delicious, our waiter was so nice and helpful, and they had overhead heaters for outside dining. Overall great experience!
Had heard so much about this place and was totally worth it. Amazing food
Was amazing! Our wonderful waitress Lilly was the best and made us feel so special! The drinks made by Marcelo were also delicious! Of course the food was also INCREDIBLE. We had the waffles to end, pasta, schnitzel and poached eggs as our mains, and the grilled halloumi to start. All perfecto!! ❤️ 100% all around!
Amazingly homey vibes here, staff was super friendly especially during COVID-19 times
Our service was the best and food was incredible!
Super unsafe covid set up - indoor dining is not at all safe there.
Everything was awesome aside from the temp in the restaurant! Couldn't take our jackets off - freezing the whole time.
Other than that minor complaint, food was delicious, drinks were delicious, and the service was superb.
Everything was great!!
Great service, great food/drink, great ambience! Very romantic mood with flowers and a candle lit table (inside) with dim lights. Service was great, mentioned our time constraint and they were great with getting us food/drinks in a timely manner.
great service & wonderful safety precautions taken. it was very quiet and food was delicious :)
Me and my friends were really exited to try out Jack's Wife Freda, which we've heard a lot about. Unfortunately the noise level was unbearable and we couldn't have a conversation without screaming to each other. This is the reason why I wouldn't come back, I felt stressed and just wanted to get out of there. The food was pretty good and the staff was super nice, so it's a shame that the noise ruins it all.
Nice place, good food. Portions are on the smaller side. Tables are very close to each other and the noise level is very high, so somewhat hard to have a proper conversation (during lunch).
small portions served in lunch style bowls. The Pjmms cup and the Bootsy Collins were far to sugary. The Margarita was good.
Casual department lunch table of 9. Everything was so easy and on time. Food was delicious, but we new that from past experience in smaller groups. Definitely will return!
Very welcoming family friendly place. Good drinks and delicious food. Will visit again!
The manager (captain) was great, helpful and friendly. We sat at the bar, where the bartender never made eye contact with us. We sat for a good 10 minutes before he even looked at us. Yes, he was busy, but we're used to busy bartenders saying, "Be with you in a minute!" or something to at least acknowledge us. There are only 8 seats at the bar at a very small restaurant, so it's not like this is a huge place. We definitely got the vibe from the bartender that he was too cool to be bothered. We ended up flagging down the nice manager and ordering from him. (He would then relay it to the bartender, which makes it funny that the bartender couldn't just take 2 minutes to ask us.) It's a shame, because the food was good. We've lived in the West Village for years and see this attitude growing in some spots in our hood.
The food was good as was the waiter. The restaurant was crowded, cramped and noisy.
It was a nice take in Mediterranean food with an American flare.
Very loud but loved our server Laura
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. A little hectic getting everyone seated (there were 10 of us) worth the wait. The service was personable, warm and helpful. Food portions are on the smaller side (compared to other nyc restaurants) however we all still felt a nice level of full. Highly recommend.
The West Village location was super convenient for us that included family locals and visitors. There were 8 adults and 2 kids, one who was loud and not cooperating. However, despite the din we made, the staff was super attentive, friendly, resourceful and gracious with children and adults. Each of our entrees was delicious (I had salmon and warm kale that was excellent) and good portions of thickly cut, yummy French fries with each order. We sat together at a long table they had ready for us and were quite comfortable. I always recommend Jack’s Wife Freida for brunch but it is so much more!
I love going to Jack's Wife Freda but this time was more than great service and the food was amazing.
We had a reservation but the table wasn’t ready for 15 minutes after our the reserved time. Once we were seated, the service and food were great!
We visited with a three year old and the staff could not have been kinder, offering crayons and other activities and a great kids menu. Adults, order some green sauce on the side and get the zucchini chips
We enjoyed our meal at Jack’s wife. The service and the management could not have been more lovely. Food was delicious. But the place is just too loud
We had a great meal at JWF. The hostess was extremely nice. We were heading to a show and they got our food out for a group of 7 very quickly. I love Jack's for breakfast, but it was nice having an early dinner there. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked and the right portion size. It was quiet, but it was also only 5:30 PM. I have been in there when it is bustling, but even then it is not overly loud.
Small local bistro with good food n service
Really liked food and welcoming atmosphere. It was just VERY loud. If you’re prepared for that, it’s all good.
Great different food, order any kind of eggs
Accommodated by 20 person group and were incredibly kind and easy to work with throughout the entire experience. Of course the food is always amazing at Jack's, but bringing a group that large was a new experience for me there, and it couldn't have been executed better!
I had a great time, but it was SO loud. I couldn't enjoy the food or the company I was with.
Love, love, love Jack’s Wife Freda! Such a welcoming and relaxed vibe. Food is wonderful and lots of great choices. Highly recommend!
We were a big group and they were very welcoming. Food was tasty and didn’t bust the bank. Would go back.
Food and service were stellar, the only detraction was the noise, like most smaller restaurants in NYC, it gets a bit loud. But overall a great dinner, glad they accept group reservations!
