Server was rude and not very attentive, fried chicken was on the verge of being undercooked
Had a great time. Zach was amazing as usual. Funny as hell. Can’t wait to go back.
It was good. It was wonderful, the ambiance was decent.
It was wonderful to safely eat outside! Crab cakes were perfect.
I guess since they add the gratuity on the checks now, our particular server decided they didn’t need to give exceptional service. Live in the neighborhood and have been there pre-quarantine and it was a good time, now not so much. Honestly won’t go back, rather spend my money somewhere I feel more welcomed and appreciated. (Worked in the industry all my life, so I’m not just some overbearing jerk) Do not recommend
Awesome service - great food. The server was very attentive to my 86 year old father and they had a wonderful sense of humor
Love the fried chicken, and complimentary corn muffins. It was great to be back!
During my most recent dining outing, my husband and I met up with my best friend and her husband who were in from Denver at Jack’s Firehouse. Since it had been some time since we had all been together, it was already going to be a good night. We ordered the appetizer special of calamari which was absolutely delish along with the roasted Brussel sprouts. The fried chicken, steaks, and risotto were cooked perfectly. What was even better was the service.
It is not every day that you meet a server that can just take your dining experience from good to AMAZING! That is exactly what Zach did during our visit to Jack’s. He made sure we were always taken care of, but also took the time to get to know his customers and let the customers get to know him. He was full of humor and kept us laughing all night. I wish more people in general were like this. Most restaurants that I visit typically have good food, but rarely do they have GREAT service. When I find a place that does both really well, i will for sure be a returning customer.
Had a wonderful time date did too
Dining in the time of COVID can be a little odd, but Jack's made it amazing! Zack, or server, was fun and made great recommendations and out the outdoor set-up is lovely. The fried chicken was INSANE, so much food and the breading was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was moist and juicy. Mac n cheese was average, but overall yummy cocktails, a great meal and relaxed atmosphere. Yum!
We love Jack’s! Our server, Zach, was attentive and adhered to all Covid precautions. Food was delicious and came out fast. The lavender gin fizz cocktail is fantastic.
Covid menu but cute place with great service!!
Had a great time. Zach was funny. Will definitely be back.
I had a great time. First had some drinks at the bar then went to our table for excellent Prime Rib.
The food was gourmet quality, with interesting combinations and seasonings. The service was spot on for timeliness, checking back and friendliness. Though the acoustics are not the best (loud) we were able to hear each other in conversation. Go there. Good food and fun atmosphere!
The food was extremely salty. Cool vibe and everyone was nice. The food wasn't terrible just very salty.
The food was not as good as it used to be. The pork belly had way too much sauce that was overly sweet. The ribs were salty. Service was also disappointing. The crab cakes were very good though.
The main reason we went there was for the ribs but they were out at 730. Disappointing. The steak was a bit overcooked. Just ok.
Great food Pleasant atmosphere. Wonderful service
The food was mediocre which was a disappointment. The lobster Mac sounded really good, unfortunately it was incredibly bland. I had the pork shoulder for my entree and it was overcooked.
The savior of the night was our waitress Jade. She was incredible.
Creative menu with excellent choices from starters through entrees. Solid portions, good cocktails and very comfortable ambiance for conversation. Definitely added to my Favorites in the city🍽🥃😊
Had a great time. First time there. Will be back.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selections. The filet was perfectly cooked. the sauteed brussels sprouts are some of the best in the city. Definitely save room for dessert.
We had to send our Mac and cheese back twice because it came out cold. When my mussels arrived, they were overly fishy and had likely gone bad. The “broth” they were supposed to have been served in was over-reduced and painfully salty.
Was the perfect place to stop after a tour of Eastern State Prison. Food was good we all had a good mix from their menu. Lots to choose and good beers. Filets were cooked perfectly, just as we asked for and cut like butter.
Had dinner there this past weekend. The place itself is very cool, the food was great and our server was incredible. Would definitely go again.
Ok local option, not something I'll keep going back to.
Our server was awesome. Drinks had a nice kick and we’ll work the price. And we enjoyed the price fix menu selections. Great experience!
Always great food and great service. I miss the chicken dinner with bacon mac and cheese! Where did it go?
Everything was great!
Great building and great food.
The best service, food is excellent and the bartender is the best.
Lovely setting but the main courses disappointed.
I had fried chicken which was way to heavily breaded.
My wife had ribs which were way too salty
First course-salads were very good
Deserts- mouse were excellent
The $30 prix fix dinner would have been a good deal IF the main course was better
I came here with my uncle who was visiting town. I had the cornflake catfish po’ boy which I had been looking forward to for a few days and it did not disappoint. Crowd was a little sparse but it was cold out and we got there just after it opened. They also have outdoor seating in the warmer months and I’ve seen it packed at other times. Our server was pleasant and helpful.
The restaurant is located on Fairmount Ave in Philly’s Fairmount neighborhood which also has shops, coffee shops and is very close to the Art Museum, the Barnes, etc. We took a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary across the street afterward and all in all it was a great morning and afternoon. Highly recommend.
Very nice evening at Jacks. My husband enjoyed the pulled pork poutine and his pork chop. I had the fried chicken and dumplings. It was very tasty. Nice addition to the menu although I do miss the roast chicken and Mac and cheese.
The bison burger was mostly filler. The food could have been warmer
Excellent choices of food, ease of reservation and seating, chose to eat at the bar, bartender was very attentive, chose apple salad, lobster Mac and cheese, vegetarian omelet. All was well prepared and tasty
Highly recommend the lobster Mac!
There service was extremely slow and poor. The hot spiked cider we ordered was lukewarm not HOT as it’s name would suggest. It took an extremely long time for our order to arrive, approximately 30 to 40 minutes. This could have been due to the fact that the servers were on a coffee break, considering I saw 2 employees enter with 8 to 12 cups of coffee and the entire waitstaff went to the back...or they were just all nursing a hangover.
I had been a regular patron Jack's for years but avoid it now because there is no accessible bathroom. Sending patrons who cannot handle the steps to a place down the street is just not acceptable in 2019. I enjoyed my recent visit but don't expect to return if I can find an alternative in that area.
Unfortunately, service was terrible. The waitress was apologetic but it took 2.5 hours for us to get our meal. She indicated they had to go to the store to pick up items as someone forgot to order the food!!! They were out of burgers and many other items.
They Really should have offered us a complimentary drink, appetizer or something!!!!
