Excellent friendly staff. We’ve recommended this to numerous friends who have also tried and like our choice
The atmosphere is outstanding. The service is always slow, but that’s just how is it there. Wait staff and bartenders taking care of too many patrons Food is average and cost a little speedy. Cocktails are great. You’re basically paying for the scenery
This is an enormous restaurant with lots of seating inside and out. My family of 6 was squished, however, into a U-shaped booth, and once the huge plates of food arrived we were quite uncomfortable. Our waitress was great – once she finally showed up. We waited for quite a while at the outset, which is what led us t not requesting a different table; it just didn't seem like it'd happen. Though we sat inside (we actually were not asked of our preference), there is a huge outdoor area with tables. That said, kids were running and playing everywhere, so use that information wisely. Overall, compared to other options in the Indio area, this was by far the coolest and most modern. Beyond that, just okay.
We have been going to Jackalope for years and always think the food and service are excellent. It’s one of the coolest looking restaurants in the area and we highly recommend it.
The food is average. Service was below average, at the bar as well as the restaurant, which was incredibly disappointing. The ambiance was great. The grass waiting area was very cool, but they should have dedicated servers taking care of people out there. They seem to be misding a great opportunity to make the overall experience something special, as this place has do much untapped potential.
We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch, thanks to a very friendly and attentive service. The overall experience was that of a "one of a group of restaurants," which is usually too formulaic and corporate for us. The burger was cooked exactly how I requested, which is very appreciated (and a task not easily accomplished, for kudos for that. The experience was nice, but underwhelming. That said, we'll be back, given the great service quality we received.
Great Easter brunch. We were taken to our table as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent with a wide variety of food. The waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Easter Brunch was wonderful. What a food presentation. Better than a cruise buffet.
Will, our server, was outstanding. A great Easter brunch.
Great food and friendly service. We were there for Easter Sunday Brunch and it was delightful. My friends were very happy.
We’ve been here before and for an Easter Brunch at almost $50 each expected a very sumptuous meal. Wellllllll......that was definitely not the case. They offered waffles, rubbery, an omelet station with one cook, fruit station with 4 areas featuring the same fruit, a buffet table with dried out eggs, enchiladas, a tasteless lasagna and Mac and cheese, ribs, that I didn’t try, sausage and bacon (they kept running out of bacon) plus a few other things. When you found it, a seafood/salad bar with shrimp, smoked salmon, and still slightly frozen crab claws. No bread was available but there tiny bagels at the seafood salad bar! The roasted meats, prime rib, lamb, and beef brisket were the best thing. My husband ate almost nothing because the scrambled eggs were dried out, the breakfast meats were hard to find mixed in with everything else. So he ended up with a rubbery waffle and a small scoop of bread pudding for $50. He doesn’t care for lunch or dinner type items for breakfast. Recommendation: If they put their food all over the place have signs directing people around so you don’t have to search this out, I.e., omelets and eggs dishes with breakfast meats in one area, Mexican dishes in another, side dishes in another, seafood in another, the meats were altogether, thank goodness. Pay attention to the food! Dried out food is not edible in my book and provide some sauces for the enchiladas, tamales, etc. This was just awful, disorganized with some foods marginal at best.
Excellent in every way!!
Excellent buffer and good service
I have visited before this being my third time. I visit this place because of Coachella 3 years ago but must say it's been 2 years and the quality is way down. Signature steak was super tough and when mentioned to waiter he blamed it on the crappy knives he said they own. The seafood pasta was flavorless and more like thick spaghetti with red sauce. Anyway outdoor lighting is horrid and the tables and chairs should be replaced. Again not being kept up from 3 years ago. I hope you make the changes to survive. There is much more competition, the town has exploded but you own a great property. Regroup and redo.
My family visits La Quinta once every few years and always visit Jackalope. In years past we’ve always enjoyed but what a different experience this fine. The food was awful, we found a rubber band in one of the dishes, and the service was extremely slow.
Additionally, the restaurant itself was run down and disgusting. There were flies everywhere, our glasses were sticky, the misters were dripping water on us when we sat at the outside bar and there was a not so good stench to the place.
Unfortunately, this tradition has come to an end.
Our waitress was clueless, no plates for the starters, unsure of bar drinks, and the menu.
Outside chairs were very dirty, the outside was not well maintained. Very disappointing.
Could be an awesome restaurant, but it fails miserably.
Specialty cocktail “daiquiri” was deliciously different. My salmon was great and husband loved his seafood pasta. We sat outside because of the “smokey” bbq smell inside and were glad we did. There was live music outside and the grounds are beautiful. Areas for kids to get up and roam around. Very pleasant evening!
Love the patio!
Manager was incredible- saw my fiend and I waiting for drink at bar and came over and made for us himself. We had a very large party. They accommodated us and moved things around for us to sit together. They were great! Kids good cake out quickly. Thank you for fun night!
This is one of my fav restaurants anywhere; but our recent experience was not reflective. Despite making a reservation we waited for 30 minutes to be seated. Seafood pasta had ingredients undisclosed like mussels and was very mediocre. Hostess was pleasant as was our waitress.
Took friends to Jackalope for a nice going away dinner. Food and ambiance were good as usual. We had not gone there for a while and when I mentioned to a couple of other friends that we were going there tonight, they both said they didn’t like it as they had experienced horrible customer service recently. We had not experienced that ourselves - until tonight. We ordered potato skins as an appetizer but when they came, they did not have any sour cream. We asked our busboy and he very nicely and promptly brought us some sour cream. A few minutes later, our waitress came by and abruptly said “I’m going to have to charge you 50 cents for that sour cream “. It was not so much the 50 cents that bothered us, but the manner and tone in which our waitress said it. Then, when it came time to order our dinner, our guest asked if she could get a barbecue chicken sandwich. We only saw pulled pork and brisket sandwiches on the menu but I knew they had the chicken sandwich on the lunch menu. Our waitress abruptly said no, that’s not available at dinner. She said they only offer it at lunch and that the lunch kitchen was shut down. Since they did have a barbecue chicken dinner on the menu, our guest asked if she ordered the barbecue chicken dinner, could she get a bun with her dinner? Our waitress seemed put out and said she supposed, but she’d have to charge an additional $3.00 for the bun. And lastly, they were busy so the main course took a long time to come out. Our empty appetizer plates had not been cleared (for over half an hour) so when we saw a different waiter walking by with an empty tray we asked if we could have our dishes removed. He visibly rolled his eyes and angrily removed the dishes. At first we thought he was kidding but he wasn’t. As I said, the food was good but the service was a huge disappointment. Our friends are moving out of state and we just wanted to spend a nice evening/dinner with them but the service put a damper on the night.
Just poorly managed. Service is really poor but the waitress was nice and just needed coaching. Margaritas were like cool aid - too sweet. Asked for a spicy margarita and they could not make it spicy. Bartender said he did not have the right ingredients. Again bartender was super nice. Food was ok but overall lower your expectations.
It took over 90 mins for our food and we did not see the manager until the end of the dinner when they gave us a 20% discount for the inconvenience. It was the fourth time for us and absolutely the worst service. Normally this place is excellent, but really disappointed with the service this time and the manager failing to even come to our table until the end of the dinner.
We waited 30 min after ordering another drink to get it. Entire dining experience was extremely slow. They apologized and said it was because the patio was so busy Unfortunately it was the restaurant that I had raves about to our friends and the experience was sub par.
I already filled this out yesterday. Very disappointed!! I would not recommend at this time. To plan a birthday lunch and to be treated so badly, it was a total same
BBQ ribs were dried out and lukewarm. Did not have much flavor either. Tasted like they had been sitting around awhile and had been microwaved before being served. Manager gave us a new order when we raised our dissatisfaction; second order wasn’t much better. Ambiance and service were otherwise good.
We were put into a corner booth that had no light so We couldn’t see our menus or each other. We asked to change but that would have required us to wait again. Service was mediocre. Disappointing unfortunately
I'm so sorry to report that our service was NOT good - didn't wait on us for 30 minutes; said we had to order drinks (wine) and dinner at the same time when we had just been handed the menus; brought 4 dinners when there were 5 of us, and placed them in front of the wrong person; had to ask for napkins and silverware - plus we were seated at a booth facing a very loud bar crowd.
Had looked forward to our first visit but sorry to say we will not return.
Service was quite slow to begin with but server,Lyle, came to the rescue and made the evening work well !! Menu selections were enjoyed by all !
The food was so so but what made our night wonderful was our great server. Very attentive but didn’t hover 👍🏼
What a beautiful spot with grass, flowers and palms. The waitress was so kind and made us feel at home and special. Thanks so much!
2 of 3 entrees were below average. Very tough beef & big bones in fish will not go back
When the menu offers beef ribs, I don't hesitate. When the plate comes out stacked high with beef ribs, I dig in. Perfect. Matched wonderfully with outdoor seating in this stage-setting gem. By far the favorite restaurant of the week as my wife and I celebrated her birthday around the town. Even though the dessert menu was sparse and uninteresting, it didn't matter because we were well-fed from the entrees.
Very good xxxxxxxxxcccxxxxccxxxxxxccccxx
Food was good but pricey, service abrupt and not attentive.
The wait for the pork chop entree was 40 minutes. 40. On a Sunday night. And it arrived, the meat was tough. I didn't send it back b/c I didn't want to have to wait another 40 minutes. Just traveling through so the statement that I'll never eat here again loses it's relevance.
Party of 7. We were seated right away, but it took 20 minutes to get a server to take a drink order.
We ordered our meal soon after and it took our food another hour to come. Some of the food came room temperature. The management took no action when we brought this to their attention. All they told us was that they were very busy.
Will not be back again!
Everything was fine but service was unusually slow
