Shared a plate and everything was really good!
Horrific service. Horrific bar tending. Food was lukewarm. Sent three drinks back because of poor drink mixing skills. Just a poor experience for such a highly recommended place.
Good food, good service and an overall good value. The Sunday brunch Was a very nice family outing
Our reservation was made last minute on Open Table. Our table was waiting when we arrived. Our waitress recommended their BBQ and it was spot on. My husband ordered the beef ribs and they were fall off the bone. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was more of a chopped pork and the smoke was heavy on it, but with their choice of three sauces, I enjoyed it. We didn't try any of the desserts , but the menu had several choices.
Sat inside although clearly better to be outside. Took 15 min for waitress to show up....bad start. cocktails were very good. Menu limited.....ribs good, chicken fried steak not good. Appeared to be very slow for Friday night.....need to add music.
Very good food and service
Feel fortunate I found Jackalope. Drove by it often and finally took the bait. Outstanding ambience outdoors, great Margaritas, friendly staff and no waiting. Well run establishment with outstanding food.
Fantastic buffet for Mother’s Day. Great selection and excellent quality.
Service was very slow. Food was mediocre.
Great BBQ period! You will enjoy the incredible design of this big restaurant. The exterior details, landscaping, water features and decor are worth visiting. The BBQ is great. They have combined the Chop House with Jackalope for more dining options. We like the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and we order this nearly every time. It is always tender and full of flavor. Good service too. Whether you eat inside or outside the decor is amazing!
We found Jackalope while staying in the area on vacation. Very interesting property with great design and decoration. We arrived for a weeknight dinner at 600 pm and place was nearly empty. We were seated promptly, and we “waited” for the server to come and greet us. Finally after a few minutes he arrived, took our drink and appetizer order. They appeared almost immediately! We placed our meal order with excitement for the recommended beef ribs and the pork chop. Then we waited nearly 35 minutes until the server came back to tell us “the kitchen is just slammed.” We could see the open kitchen, did not look super busy. Food arrived, it was quite tasty and meat portions were large. The sides were very small sitting on a large platter.
Overall, food was good but expensive. Service lacked enthusiasm and interest.
If you want to come for the decor and experience fine but rest of the experience is lacking.
We had a very poor experience here about a year ago. What a difference! We were here for happy hour. Service and food were excellent. Try it.
We love the ground of Jackalope Ranch it truly is a destination place. The quality of food was great. The service was very bad. We rarely saw our server Meghan and ended up ordering from one of the managers. We just weren't treated like they wanted us to be there. We sat outside with misters since it was around 100* they worked but the flies were awful.
Bridget did a very nice job making sure our every need was met!
My hamburger good my husbands pasta terrible
If you have smaller Canadian stomachs, then consider sharing an entree and adding an appy or side. The onion rings are amazing.
5 of the 6 meals were fine. One was a stomachache all day after eating. The outdoor seating is just so nice that we keep going back, knowing there is a good chance the food will be mediocre.
To be fair, the one time I ate at this place was the night before the huge Stagecoach festival and the place was slammed, so service was lacking but I’d try it again on an average night. Food was decent, not as good as I would think for the price , but again, I haven’t tried enough to really judge. I definitely recommend others to at least try the place. The property is beautiful and atmosphere is good for any occasion from casual to fine dining.
This was the third time we've eaten here, and it was a little disappointing. Our food was good- just not as good as the first two visits. That said, our waiter Jeff was awesome- very responsive, positive, and funny. The outdoor patio is beautiful and comfortable, and the musician was pretty good too.
Service was terrible. Mark was scarce and slow to react. Handed me a corkscrew to open our own wine that we brought. Then the restaurant told Open Table that we were no shows! We will not be back.
Excellent friendly staff. We’ve recommended this to numerous friends who have also tried and like our choice
The atmosphere is outstanding. The service is always slow, but that’s just how is it there. Wait staff and bartenders taking care of too many patrons Food is average and cost a little speedy. Cocktails are great. You’re basically paying for the scenery
This is an enormous restaurant with lots of seating inside and out. My family of 6 was squished, however, into a U-shaped booth, and once the huge plates of food arrived we were quite uncomfortable. Our waitress was great – once she finally showed up. We waited for quite a while at the outset, which is what led us t not requesting a different table; it just didn't seem like it'd happen. Though we sat inside (we actually were not asked of our preference), there is a huge outdoor area with tables. That said, kids were running and playing everywhere, so use that information wisely. Overall, compared to other options in the Indio area, this was by far the coolest and most modern. Beyond that, just okay.
We have been going to Jackalope for years and always think the food and service are excellent. It’s one of the coolest looking restaurants in the area and we highly recommend it.
The food is average. Service was below average, at the bar as well as the restaurant, which was incredibly disappointing. The ambiance was great. The grass waiting area was very cool, but they should have dedicated servers taking care of people out there. They seem to be misding a great opportunity to make the overall experience something special, as this place has do much untapped potential.
We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch, thanks to a very friendly and attentive service. The overall experience was that of a "one of a group of restaurants," which is usually too formulaic and corporate for us. The burger was cooked exactly how I requested, which is very appreciated (and a task not easily accomplished, for kudos for that. The experience was nice, but underwhelming. That said, we'll be back, given the great service quality we received.
Great Easter brunch. We were taken to our table as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent with a wide variety of food. The waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Easter Brunch was wonderful. What a food presentation. Better than a cruise buffet.
Will, our server, was outstanding. A great Easter brunch.
Great food and friendly service. We were there for Easter Sunday Brunch and it was delightful. My friends were very happy.
We’ve been here before and for an Easter Brunch at almost $50 each expected a very sumptuous meal. Wellllllll......that was definitely not the case. They offered waffles, rubbery, an omelet station with one cook, fruit station with 4 areas featuring the same fruit, a buffet table with dried out eggs, enchiladas, a tasteless lasagna and Mac and cheese, ribs, that I didn’t try, sausage and bacon (they kept running out of bacon) plus a few other things. When you found it, a seafood/salad bar with shrimp, smoked salmon, and still slightly frozen crab claws. No bread was available but there tiny bagels at the seafood salad bar! The roasted meats, prime rib, lamb, and beef brisket were the best thing. My husband ate almost nothing because the scrambled eggs were dried out, the breakfast meats were hard to find mixed in with everything else. So he ended up with a rubbery waffle and a small scoop of bread pudding for $50. He doesn’t care for lunch or dinner type items for breakfast. Recommendation: If they put their food all over the place have signs directing people around so you don’t have to search this out, I.e., omelets and eggs dishes with breakfast meats in one area, Mexican dishes in another, side dishes in another, seafood in another, the meats were altogether, thank goodness. Pay attention to the food! Dried out food is not edible in my book and provide some sauces for the enchiladas, tamales, etc. This was just awful, disorganized with some foods marginal at best.
Excellent in every way!!
Excellent buffer and good service
I have visited before this being my third time. I visit this place because of Coachella 3 years ago but must say it's been 2 years and the quality is way down. Signature steak was super tough and when mentioned to waiter he blamed it on the crappy knives he said they own. The seafood pasta was flavorless and more like thick spaghetti with red sauce. Anyway outdoor lighting is horrid and the tables and chairs should be replaced. Again not being kept up from 3 years ago. I hope you make the changes to survive. There is much more competition, the town has exploded but you own a great property. Regroup and redo.
My family visits La Quinta once every few years and always visit Jackalope. In years past we’ve always enjoyed but what a different experience this fine. The food was awful, we found a rubber band in one of the dishes, and the service was extremely slow.
Additionally, the restaurant itself was run down and disgusting. There were flies everywhere, our glasses were sticky, the misters were dripping water on us when we sat at the outside bar and there was a not so good stench to the place.
Unfortunately, this tradition has come to an end.
Our waitress was clueless, no plates for the starters, unsure of bar drinks, and the menu.
Outside chairs were very dirty, the outside was not well maintained. Very disappointing.
Could be an awesome restaurant, but it fails miserably.
Specialty cocktail “daiquiri” was deliciously different. My salmon was great and husband loved his seafood pasta. We sat outside because of the “smokey” bbq smell inside and were glad we did. There was live music outside and the grounds are beautiful. Areas for kids to get up and roam around. Very pleasant evening!
Love the patio!
