We love Jackalope Ranch for special occasions. The service is friendly and familiar, the food was delivered quickly and the ambiance was pleasant.
The food was also very good. We brought our friends from out of town and there were very impressed with everything.
It was an expensive dinner - $131 for the 4 of us - more than I usually pay. But it was all good.
First time here. Place was completely empty on a July work day at lunch hour. So empty I thought they were closed. Waitress couldn't seem more annoyed to check me in. A smile or good attitude couldn't hurt. 6 people total in bar area. Music so loud it was difficult to hear across the table. Salmon salad very overly salted and croutons doughy. If the waitress doesn't want to be there why would customers? Manager couldn't be bothered to acknowledge us on our way out. Bad service, bad food, over priced. Don't recommend.
I wasn't impressed with the Sunday Brunch at all. Everything was Luke warm or cold.
Our server was not very good at all. She never refilled coffee or ice tea until we finally got her attention and asked. The place was not very busy at all. She didn't want to be there and we could tell from the moment she came to the table.
However when we spoke to the manager he was beyond accommodating. He gave us 2 large containers to take anything from the buffet home. We had explained while the dishes were like warm we still ate and were not looking for free food. He insisted so we took it.
Also when we got the bill one buffet was missing from bill. I took the bill to the manager and explained that we had 3 buffets but only 2 were on bill. He said I see the mistake...... however because of your honesty it's on the house.
So while I wasn't impressed with food on buffet, I will return and give it another chance because of the management team and how accommodating they were.
We've lived in the Valley for 5 years and have often thought about dining here but for one excuse or another we had never visited the Jackalope Ranch. What a surprise! This place has it all . Casual dining in the bar, beautiful exterior gardens and dining. The menu is extensive and the food was excellent along with nice size portions. We will definitely be back again this summer and looking forward to dining outside during the "season"
We ate at the Chop House at Jackalope Ranch, not at Jackalope Ranch Restaurant. It was confusing to make a reservation at the Chop House (we have been to all the previous Chop House locations in PS and PD) since both restaurants are at the same location . It is not clear on the Open Table website which reservation you are making it for. The hostess confirmed this when we arrived and she could not find our reservation. Apparently this is an ongoing problem for the two restaurants at this one location.
We had the Châteaubriand for two which was excellent and a good value. Our server, Will, was exceptional and the manager offered us a tour of the restaurants. This is a very relaxing restaurant and it is well decorated with nice views and a quiet ambiance. Overall we enjoyed the evening.
Our only problem was with the reservation which were canceled when we arrived. Four days later we received a call confirming our reservations. We are not sure where the problem lies, website or restaurants.
Overall, we would return but would make reservations by calling the Chop House at Jackalope Ranch next time and skip Open Table.
My wife and I have stopped by for drinks and appetizers a couple of times. My Blue Moon beer tasted sour. I thought it was just a bad batch but it was bad the next time we went too. Waitress replaced it, but I wouldn't order it again. We were there close to closing time. Staff must have been in a hurry to go home because they started putting chairs on top of tables while we were still eating our appetizers. If you wanted us to leave you should have just said so.
It was a 120 degrees during the day and still hot at 7pm. There main AC stop working. Instead of explaining situation they asked if we wanted a booth or table. After deciding on booth they said it would be to hot and they gave us a table. It was in a side room not main restaurant. We sat on folding chairs so not very comfortable. The food was ok and service was lacking. However we walked around restaurants after and it is a very cool unique location. The outside bar eating area is so relaxing with waterfalls and green lawns.. Better customer service would of made a huge difference.
The hostesses were genuinely warm and welcoming as was Adam who was fantastic, very knowledgeable about their new menu offerings. Baby back ribs were great and fall off the bone tender. The bbq brisket and pulled pork were fork tender and very good, light smoke flavor, sweet bbq sauce with a bit of heat. Mash potatoes were great, the western beans were just okay, but I'm used to sweet bbq beans. Excellent wedge salad and house made dressing. The place is awesome, just an amazing spread, over 5 acres. Beautiful landscaping and waterfalls and ponds.
First of all make sure they acknowledge your reservation. When we arrived I checked in with the hostess who did not put in that we arrived since i got an email from open table that i did not show.
Our server was good responsive, ordered some fried green beans and calamari. They were fair, some flavor. Calamari was mostly tentacles than body.
Our server was off shift so we closed out with her. Her replacement was not attentive and we had to go to the bar to get another round. Restaurant was pretty empty,
This was our 3rd visit and the worst! Steak way over done, Bernaise sauce not warm and the consistency of mayo; baked potato had an "old" taste (as in reheated from the day before). And what restaurant doesn't offer a simple green salad?!! Incredible! Service was sub-par, took 20min to get a Margarita and did not get that order correct. A/C must've been malfunctioning, giant fans set about. Come on people! This is a big restaurant in the desert; unacceptable!! Will not encourage friends to visit this place, this will be our last.
My husband and 10 year old daughter and I went for fathers day. We got seated promptly, but then the waitress was never around. It took 10 mins just to give drink order. My husbands beer arrived flat. The food was pretty good. My chicken fried steak was almost paper thin, but portons we good. the prices were reasonable but I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend it to a friend.
This is the second time that we have been disappointed in this venue. The service is lousy , you can't get your drinks refilled the order isn't correct. The salad was warm as were the plates, the entrees were so so, meat overcooked, fries cold. It was also VERY warm in the restaurant and all the servers seemed distracted. The reservations were honored but doubt if we will be going back for a third time. Shame too its a wonderful spot and quite nice.
We made reservations for our anniversary on Saturday night, something I specified in the reservation via Open Table. The menu was just OK...we started with margaritas that were underwhelming. We each decided to order hamburgers, mine a DaKine Hawaiian and my husband a BBQ burger. They were dropped off, and we started eating. I started to feel like there was something missing, so I checked the menu again. They had forgotten the bacon on my burger and the cheese, bacon, onion straws AND BBQ sauce on my husband's! When we mentioned this to our server, she asked us what we would like her to do about it. It was too late for her to bring new burgers, and at this point, all we wanted to do was leave, but I expected maybe an offer to take one of them off of the check, or one of the drinks. She did offer dessert, but by this point, we weren't interested in anything else. Also, even though I specified that it was our anniversary, no one asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion or brought it up at all. I would not recommend Jackalope Ranch. For the price, the food was just OK and the service lacking.
First time to the establishment, the place is beautiful. The booth we got was huge! the animal skin on the seat headrest made it feel like something of a different time. looking out toward the bar was the almost full glass wall looking to the waterfall and patio. Service was good, we had no issues, water refills, waiter checked in, and the pace was perfect. The sliders were prepared with some bread that seemed dry and stale though. The lemons came wrapped in a net, that was an awesome little touch.
Meal was delicious, hope they add the lunch choices to their menu. Both choices were great and would order again if available. Décor was a western theme and very well done. Have heard nothing but positive things about their dinners by friends who have been there.
When there for my Birthday with the Wife and kids. The foods good and the waiters was nice as well. We got there and the young lady at the counter sat us down and did not ever as if we wanted a table or a somewhere else. After we ate, we walked outside in the back and it's very nice, we could tell that they have not clean the patio, the path or one of the ponds in sometimes. Once we left, the young lady's at the counter never said a word to us. It's like she did not care if you liked the food or not. She's just there for a pay check. The wife got a Cobb salad that cost $12. The salad was not worth it. $4-5 would be more like it. Be careful on what you order.
We went for lunch on the first day of Restaurant Week. It was our first visit to this place & we were impressed by the extent and variety of the dining areas, the decor, and the great service. The food was very good, innovative and interesting but not faddish, and we intend to come back for dinner soon.
The lunch menu for Restaurant Week is small, but a deal at $20. The first course offers four items. My wife had the open-faced halibut sandwich with sun-dried & roasted tomatoes with a citrus vinaigrette & I had the short rib sandwich on ciabatta with lots of lettuce, onion, etc. to dress it up along with a pineapple salsa.
They offer both a wine flight and a beer flight with lunch, but we did not try either for lunch. They both look great and I would like to try one of them with dinner. I hope they add this to their regular menu since the flights offer three glasses of wine or beer at a very good price.
The second course is desert and I recommend the sorbet trio. It is first rate and generous with three large scoops of freshly made sorbet - lemon, mango, & a wild berry mix. They also offer chocolate chip cookie sundae, but the sorbet is the better choice. We had one of each & I liked the ice cream on the cookie and the whipped cream is perfect, but the cookie was fine, just not great. I was not disappointed with the sundae but the sorbet is outstanding. It will be hard to find a better sorbet than offered here.
After we finished we look around the huge building. The outdoor dining area is enormous with a waterfall & lots of plants. We poked around inside to look at the Chop House & one of the private dining rooms. We met up with the manager who graciously took time to talk to us & show us around.
Food was good. Outside patio nice.. but a lot of children at 8pm on a Friday night. Most concerning was the hostess who warned us about how buggy it can get outside so we decided on a booth inside. Once seated the noice from the bar was overwhelming. So we asked to be seated outside which she promptly accommodated. Unfortunetly she spoiled the notion of customer service when she also said that once seated outside we would not be permitted back inside if it was too buggy. My date and I just looked at her and said we would leave then if that happened and go elsewhere. We enjoyed our meal and the ambience outside. There were no bugs of any kind! AND we also noticed that the restaurant was only about 1/3 full -- plenty of seats inside and out. She needs a lesson on client satisfaction.. for sure
The BBQ pulled pork sandwich is delicious. We also had the Cobb salad and BBQ chicken salad. Both salads were generous portions and delicious. We ordered the yam fries which were crispy and great. It was busy but this is a big restaurant with nice seating inside and outside.
We had an absolutely disgusting experience. We were seated on the patio at about 6 pm of an evening meal. There were quite a few flies and shortly after ordering we asked to be re-seated inside. We were told that after we had ordered that was not possible.
When our food arrive so did a swarm of flies. They landed all over our food and in our drink glassed. It was like eating in a horse barn. There was not way we could enjoy our meal or even feel sanitary about eating it. There were flies everywhere. This totally ruined what should have been an enjoyable evening.
We covered our food with our napkins and then packed it up and took it home to eat.
This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The staff was no help at all!
The food once we got it home was good but that in no way excuses the unsanitary eating conditions or shabby, unsympathic treatment by the staff.
