Jackalope Ranch Ratings and Reviews
I wouldn’t go here again. The hostesses were very unfriendly and bordered on rude. The younger ones were too busy talking to each other to answer a question. Our server told us that the pork chop was dry. I got the chicken, it was dry as well. The seafood pasta came like warm and the brisket was more fat than meat. While our server was friendly, she didn’t come to the table very often. We had to ask a bus person for our check. Poor service and very mediocre food that was not inexpensive.
We’ve used open table for years with great success and this was our first AWFUL experience. It should be taken off their list of restaurant options. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and they said it would be a 30 minute wait. Food took 45 minutes to arrive AFTER we ordered it. The order was delivered wrong. Waitress had an “eye rolling“ attitude about the mixup. This place is just not open table quality.
From ordering our meal to bringing it took more than an hour, not even bread was provided, our server was even embarrassed and said they were just too busy.
When the meal arrived, 3 of our 4 meals were wrong. Not to mention cold.
The spot was terribly noisy and management non responsive
Terrible, embarrassing evening.
Food took too long to arrive. However, waiter warned us when we ordered the kitchen was way behind. Dinners arrived and were stone cold. Ribs tasted like hot dogs with BBQ sauce. 6 out of our 7 dinners were inedible. We have been several times in the past but might be discouraged to go again.
We sat by an indoor fireplace and I think our server forgot us. We ordered and waited a long long time for our order. As an afterthought our waitress brought 2 glasses of complimentary wine- not sure what it was it was very bad and we didn’t drink it. We had 6 in our party and I do not think anyone was impressed by the food or the service. We decided that this is our last visit to The Jackalope.
Reserved a table for 8 inside, barley 6 adults fit they want 2 adults to sit on bar stools at the end of the table, they moved our group outside and had to ask them to move heaters to stay warm. After waiting for 45 minutes, one of our guest finally went and asked were our dinner was, it finally arrived after waiting for over an hour, my pork ribs were only warm and my fully loaded baked potato arrived on a side plate uncut and barely any condiments, my wife and friends wife ordered the prime rib, they both arrived ice cold, not even warn and the vegetables were not cooked. Another friends wife ordered a salad, she said it looked like left overs from someone else salad. The manager arrived with the bill ad tried to apologize for the poor service and barley took 10% of the bill off. We have a number of friends that travel to Palm Springs over the winter season, I will tell everyone to stay away from the Jackalope Ranch!
The ribs were good but portion was not as large as we expected for the price. The seafood pasta was ok but smelled s little fishy. The wine was good by the glass but a smaller glass than needed for s red wine. Service was adequate. We thought that green vegetable should have been offered as a side. Barbecue sauce on side might have helped too. Everything about the express adequate. Nothing special.
Some reltives were in town visiting and we decided to go to Jackalope Ranch because everyone has dinned here before and think it's a fun place. Unfortunately it was also Valentine's day, so the restaurant had a limited menu due to so many reservations (over 500). The patio dining was very fun and the service was also great, especially with so many to wait on. My disappointment was mostly with the limited menu, also the portion control was too severe, everyone left still hungry.
I will return, as I like it there, just not on such a busy day.
Our reservation, six people, was for 6:00 PM on a Saturday evening. Parking was difficult because the parking lot was packed. We had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. The hostess did not have enough menus to seat us immediately. She appeared to be frustrated and certainly was not welcoming. We ordered an appetizer when we ordered drinks. The waiter assured me it would be served well before our meals. Our drinks arrived and still no appetizer. After about 45 minutes, two servers rushed up to our table with the Calamari appetizer, our side salads, AND our main meals. They disappeared as quickly as they arrived. The service was very disappointing. The food was alright but for the price I have certainly had better. We probably won’t be returning very soon.
I was very unhappy. My hubby and I sat down, started to look at the menu when the server came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We said yes but weren't sure yet. She proceeded to mention Margarita or our Mojito are both very good. So we each took one. Then looking over the menu we notice the Mojito is a 24 oz mojito for $19!!!!! Slick! My bad for not asking how much before I placed the order. The Margarita was $14. Both were not that great at all. Then when we ordered our food, we ordered the fries with it. She asked us if we wanted seasoned fries or sweet potato or truffle fries. I chose the truffle fries. Guess what - an additional $2.50. Which she never said there was an additional charge. Maybe it was just our waiter - Tina. But she was sly and we were not happy. I don't know if I'd go back there. And I just told some of our friends and they may not either. Anyway - buyer beware!
Dined here Friday evening to celebrate our family's January birthdays (four of them!). We were a group of 6. This was my first time here; it was recommended by a family friend. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the ambience. The place is large with wonderful inside and outside dining facilities. The bar is spacious with gorgeous woodwork and décor. Outside is beautifully landscaped with waterfalls and gardens.
We had an early dinner inside and took photos outside (the patio was packed and looked liked fun). My husband had the prime rib; the rest of us ordered off the sunset menu (3 courses) - Dad had the BBQ ribs, I had the sea bass, and everyone else had the tri-tip. All was delicious. What made the evening extra special was the superb service we received from our waiter, Lyle. He was personable, attentive, patient (it took awhile for all members to arrive and decide on what to order) and anticipated our requests (always one step ahead of our needs). Lyle truly made the dining experience memorable. Thank you, Lyle!
When we left there was live music on the patio. We really wanted to stay but needed to get home because of early work schedule. We vowed that we will return soon. There are many more items to try on the menu!
