I used to love going to the Jackalope but it has changed so much.
My mom and I ordered the steak salad, you literally had to pat the steak it was so oily just dripping in oil.
My mom didn't eat any of hers.
Dear Beverly, I am very sorry that you and your Mom did not like the steak salad, please accept my sincere apology for us having fallen short of satisfying every guest. I hope that you will give us another chance to prove that your experience was the exception rather than the rule. I look forward to personally meet you at your next visit. Sincerely yours Heinz
Nice place! Great ambiance! We want one of those pig lamps!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Unfortunately the pig lamps are not for sale but will be here when you come and visit us again! Sincerely yours Heinz
The food was excellent! We haven’t been here in a while, and we were very impressed with our food!
Thank you very much and come visit again. Sincerely yours Heinz
Teena was awesome!
Great food. Waitress was great. Time with family priceless.
It was an absolutely horrible experience. We were seated and the waitress said she would bring water, which she did. Shen then said she’d be back right away to take our orders. Well 20 minutes went by and no sign of her so I went to the front desk to let them know. The receptionist said she would send the waitress right over. After waiting yet another 5 minutes someone else came and said the waitress was busy with a big party so took our orders. She said the drinks would be right up along with some bread. They weren’t we waited yet another 10 minutes. The original waitress brought some bread and was really rude. Another 10
Minutes went by before we got our drinks.
The second waitress said our food would be right up. We probably waited another 15 minutes for it plus it was cold. And my order was incorrect.
We used to go to this restaurant often as we liked the ambiance, food and service. Well we won’t be going back.
Dear DeniseD, Thank you for writing the comments relating to your dining experience. Please accept our sincere apology for turning what should have been a pleasant meal into what you described. We strive to provide excellent service all the time and indeed failed to do so in your case. Please do not take this one isolated case as the norm but rather as the exception. I look forward to your contacting me at the restaurant so that we may prove our service level once again. Sincerely, Heinz
We frequent Jackalope and also The Chop House. The food was very good as always but unfortunately I’d have to give the service a 1 rating. We spoke with the manager and diplomatically made him aware. Everyone is entitled to an “off” night. I’m sure our next visit will be better.
Dear luvopntbl2, We are very sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience at your recent visit in our restaurant. Please accept my sincere apology for this having negatively impacted your meal. I can assure you that we strive to provide professionalism in all aspects of our operation. It does give me some relief to know that our management staff member seems to have proved it to you. I personally look forward to meeting you at your next visit and thank you Sincerely, Heinz
When we arrived, the only tables in the main dining room were booths...which were too small for 4 people. They said it would be about a 20 minute wait (even though I had a reservation) or we could be seated in an auxiliary room in which there was a large party seated. We opted for the "private" room; however, the group of about 15 women was so loud and boisterous that we could barely carry on a conversation. Food was OK, but after the checks were presented the server seemed to forget we were there (the large party had already left). We waited about 30 minutes then had to track down the server to complete paying the bill. We've only been there one other time, and loved it....but this was a huge disappointment....especially since we had out of town guests with us. I was planning to host a birthday dinner there next month, but am giving that idea some serious second thoughts.
Beautiful restaurant! We will be back. Only confusion was the multiple menu situation. I would recommend getting it all on one menu and just having a separate Happy Hour menu for those who come in between 4-6 pm.
Excellent food and great service
The food wasn't fresh nor tender, and the wrong order was brought to our table. The drinks had reminats of food on the cups, therefore two people had to share one cup. The cooking of the meat was fine, the preparation and the freshness of the meat itself was lacking. The environment and location was superb, but unfortunately trumped everything else about the restaurant. The server seemed unwilling to serve us, yet was fast and nice on concerning to our needs.
Food is good and they have specials all summer long. We had the ribs and we enjoyed them. Wonderful chocolate moose pie. I love the gardens, but we ate inside since it was so hot and humid out. Service was great. We got married there 7 years ago, so it's a special place for us!
Delicious meal and very pleased that they mark gluten-free items as such!
Waited 7 minutes to get seated, no hostess in front, had to get a waitress to be seated, also they need to turn the AC up always warm inside in summer time.
Very Good service. We were well taken care of.
Menu is a good variety for all.
Service started out great until it got a little busier and then we rarely saw our server. They seemed understaffed for dinner rush. Appetizers of Calamari Fingers and the poke/avocado bowl were outstanding. Not sure the prime New York strip was actually prime. Pretty tough piece of meat. Came with mashed potatoes and vegetables that were all dry.
Excellent Service, Great food, we will be back again soon!!!!
Love this venue. We walked around with a glass of wine and admired the yard and falls. My favorite restaurant in Palm Springs.
From the minute we stepped inside we were so pleased with the greeting we received. It was Fathers day and the brunch was more than I could have imagined with the selection of food. We were not rushed and had a very relaxing enjoyable time. We will definitely come back.
The staff were friendly and service was attentive. Food was mediocre.
Eat there at least once a year when visiting a Palm Desert. Good food and friendly, attentive service.
Food and service both good but not sure air conditioning was working on an evening when temperatures were over 100; and flies at our table were quite annoying.
With the beginning of summer Jacalope Ranch was fairly empty, however as always we found the food and service to be very good.
6 of us didn’t tell us that ac was inop and it was the hottest day at 116 finally moved us in another area which was better but wish they would of told us before we sat and ordered food would of gone another time since not our first visit but for our guest it was their first time
First off it’s 104 degrees out and i believe their air condoning was out. Would have been nice to have been told that prior to driving there to eat. Then when we asked if the fan could be moved by our table, granite there weren’t many tables at all, the waitress just plainly said no. In addition the waitress was rude and not warming what so ever. So after sweating through dinner the food was just ok but super expensive. I would not recommend or go back.
First time eating here and it was great.
Waitress wasn't around much, and when she did stop at table, didn't wait for us to ask for anything. Poke my friend ordered was much too salty and she sent it back. My patty melt was ok - but rather dry.
I fell getting out of table, which is raised from floor. Perhaps they shouldn't seat older diners in those tables.
The place is a treasure to see. Outside are tables with umbrellas overlooking beautiful gardens and ponds.
They have heaters and a fireplace for cool nights. Inside they have seats by the bar as well as booths and tables, with regular tables in the rest of the restaurant. They even have small rooms for gatherings. The food was awesome. I had a smoked salmon blt which had cream cheese, avocado, tomatoes, capers, and some red onions. It was good and came with home made potato chips served with ketchup. This made the chips taste like real pieces of potatoes. My husband had the patty melt. It was tender and tasted great. It had mushrooms, cheese, and onions. For dessert we had the key lime pie which tasted wonderful.
Food was very bland, drinks were good, it's a nice restaurant but it could use some repairs, the shade around the bar on the outside sitting area was tearing apart, don't think I will be back.
This is a great place for Sunday breakfast/ lunch brunch and right now they included in restaurant week, 3 different menus. Go check it out, you going to love it.
Beautiful place, you can tell the owner spared no evidence building this place. Food was great too!
Enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent, would definitely go back.
Made a reservation for five people. We were seated at a table for four with an additional chair placed in the aisle way. We asked the hostess for another table and she informed us they were completely booked. I don’t understand why they would accept a reservation when they don’t have room to comfortably accommodate the party.
Great brunch with bottomless champagne and a great selection of salads, sides, main course and breakfast foods.
Terrible. Even if free, not worth the drive there.
Jackalope Ranch is quite good with plenty of good choices for dinner. We had one BBQ pulled pork sandwich and one BBQ Brisket sandwich. They were both very good with lots of meat.
All was very good. This was are second time eating at the restaurant and the food was very good. We celebrated with family and friends. When we come down to Palm Springs again we will eat their again.
We went there specifically for lunch and viewed their online menu. When we arrived we asked for menus and were told the buffet was the only option until 1230 (at that time it was noon). Nothing online....either Jackalope’s site or Open Table indicated this. We spoke to a manager and told her how disappointed we were and said they need to make their dining options more clear. They did make an exception for us and we ended up having a pleasant experience.
Very nice Sunday Brunch. Really enjoyed it and we will be back.
