Jack Dusty Coastal Cuisine and Crafted Cocktails Ratings and Reviews
Jack Dusty restaurant is absolutely my favorite place to take friends and family. Love hand crafted cocktails like the incredible "siren" complete a beautiful orchid flower encased in ice! Loving the super good Cobb salad . My best pick is the Lobster Roll just like I am used to from my hometown of Newport, RI. It includes the best homemade potato chips. The table is invited to taste warm molasses bread with rum butter, a treat for everyone! Do I love it here ? Absolutely!
I visit Jack Dusty's every time I'm in town. I eat here when I am on my own when I have clients with me and I bring my family on occasion.
It has a beautiful view. I love the 3 dining areas: outside, inside more formal and inside with a more cool vibe. The bar area is very hip and comfortable. The food is great. My favorite is the steak. That molasses bread is ah-mazing. And this time you had some kind of zucchini/potato on the side. OMG..that was wonderful. There are great wine choices and good cocktails. Finally, the service was great. The hostess was very accommodating and the server was knowledgeable, friendly, and paid attention to our needs.
We were seated in the main dining room area which and the temperature was very cold. Our waiter tried to accommodate us as we moved and he talked with management about the air conditioning situation. He was very attentive, helped the three of us celebrate our birthday lunch.
The breakfast buffet was just OK, the eggs Benedict English muffin was hard as a rock and you could not even cut through it with a knife. Waffles were cold and the gravy for the biscuits and gravy was very runny/watery! The most unfortunate part occurred when we were getting up from our table to make only our second trip to the buffet, we were asked by someone who was there to clean tables if we were heading out, even though it was clear that my phone and sunglasses were still on the table. It felt as if the help wanted us to leave, even though we only had one trip to the buffet with a very small plate! I expected so much more from the Ritz Carlton!
It was my daughter's 17th Birthday and all she wanted was to stay at the Ritz-Carlton for her birthday so we didn't want to leave the hotel at all so I made reservations for her Birthday Dinner and it was the best decision I could've made hands down one of the best places especially for the occasion. April our waitress was absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. we will definitely be coming back.
When you first walk in it may feel as if it's just another hotel restaurant. But that's where it stops! From the time we were greeted by Kate (host) to when our check was brought the service was Top Notch. I hinted on the OpenTable app that it was my 12th anniversary and boy did they go above and beyond. Nothing corny, no song and dance just a classic handwritten note and a visit from Mirza the restaurant manager just thanking and congratulating us. It made the night very special. I can not end this without mentioning how excellent our server Sammy was... very polite, courteous and most of all patient. She made the evening a pleasant one. Do not leave without trying the Fried Green Tomatoes crab cakes... OMG!
We've been here many times. They must have gotten s new chef/management again because they have new items on the menu and things were cooked differently. The presentation of the food was not anything to be excited about and we were not thrilled with the appetizers. Everything was fresh but nothing had good flavor. We didn't finish any of them. Our main dishes were good and the bread was also but left slightly disappointed.
