Jack Dusty Coastal Cuisine and Crafted Cocktails
One word: Incredible
We were originaly seated at a table in the middle of a lounge area. This was not expected. When I made the reservation I assumed we would be seated in the dining room. We were moved thankfully. Next time I will call and speak with someone for the reservation.
Are server was great and so was the food. Thanks for asking.
The cocktail menu is phenomenal! The food is fantastic from taste to presentation. Service is outstanding as always. The restaurant and bar inside are beautiful but the real treat is to be seated outside!
What an amazing dining experience let me tell you. My fiancee and I were celebrating her birthday and were blown away with everything about Jack Dusty’s. From the moment you pull in you are greeted by wonderful valet personnel. It is located inside of the Ritz Carlton which just looks like a work of art inside and out. We walked in to the host and were warmly greeted by a very kind young lady who had us escorted to the table and warmly wished my girlfriend a happy birthday, what a touch! We sit down and were greeted by our table captain Jorge. Jorge delivered impecable, professional, refined and a very friendly experience. Without a doubt one of the best if not the best dining experiences I have ever had thanks to him and pretty much the main reason for writing this review. Jorge made us feel so comfortable and welcomed, we were blown away by him and his conversation and recommendations. He made our night unforgettable and made to feel very special, forever a great memory and we are thankful for him. 10/10 for service and experience. The food is just as breath taking as the service. The drinks all have a special touch to them. I ordered a specialty painkiller which had a smoked marshmallow taste and presented in a glass carafe infused with a “fog” or smoked appeal. Food was delicious and unmatched. Jorge recommended the blackened grouper and it was a 10/10. The whole ambiance and theme is the sea and the nuances and details make for a stellar experience. Well done Jack Dusty’s. Very impressed.
Hostess had a hard time being friendly, didn’t crack a smile. The only staff member who smiled was our server who was fantastic, but then he transferred our table to a different girl without telling us. She couldn’t have rushed us out the door faster and was even less welcoming than the hostess. We’re a group of restaurant hospitality professionals and expected a lot from the Ritz’s service standards and were obviously disappointed.
Great service and wonderful food.
The food was good. Expected for a Ritz Carlton property. Service was fantastic. Only disappointment was the view. I recommend for a nice dinner with a date.
Get some some fans outside, it’s the Ritz
Very good food at a high price point.
Best seafood in town with a great wait staff headed up by Jen.
Lobster tail too small, I like larger lobster tails from Maine , don't order the small ones
I was surprised how small it was
Everything else was very good.
We frequent Jack Dusty every month or so and can't be happier. The service is top notch and the food even better. You can't go wrong with an evening on the veranda overlooking the water.
My wife has celiac disease, staff was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. Highly recommend
Amazing seafood and great service with our server Jorge. The bread made in the can was so different and yummy. Definitely will go back :)
Everything was really great. We were there with a friend and his date. She, like us, has been to Jack Dusty many times in the past. However, she was not aware that you could order off the lunch menu at night. We both ordered off that menu. My husband and our friend ordered off the dinner menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. After dinner we went inside for a drink. We all had a great evening.
Perfect experience at the bar
Bartenders were amazing attentive and even gave us our favorite brown bread to go
We can’t wait to go back
Jack dusty is perfect for the special occasion
Wonderful seafood dinner. We made a meal of the seafood appetizers. After having the seafood tower we had the mussels. Every dish had a unique twist to it. Love the creativity of the chef. Highly recommend the restaurant. Service was little slow when it came to drinks, but not the servers fault. They seated several large parties in his section within few minutes
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Anthony was our waiter and he was fantastic!! We will be back.
Bday Moms 99th
The excellent venue, excellent food, plus accommodating staff added up to a happy dining experience for everyone in our large group!
Great service and phenomenal food a great evening
Great place with a view of the harbor. Fun and delicious drinks and food. They accommodated our large party with ease and made it a special night. The Siren drink was stunning and very strong!
Savor Sarasota menu has French fries as appetizer ☹️
all just ok, nothing terrible, but we had high hopes, dinner was average
Jose was our wonderful waiter. Great food and atmosphere
Bread baled in a can is unique and very good. I ordered Geroiper done piñata style and Chef accommodated even though on menu was blackened.
Food and service (John ) was excellent!!!
Great food, service, and ambiance. The cocktail list is impressive. Highly recommended.
This was a total shock. We went just to enjoy the Ritz Carlton but wound up with one of the two best meals we have had in Florida. It is always the rarest experience when every single dish is amazing. Yet that describes our dinner. The canned bread was not just a fun novelty but was warm, semi-caramelized, delicious in taste and texture. The blackened Wahoo was indescribably scrumptious- fresh and succulent in a complex perfectly complementing sauce. The beet salad was tangy, sweet and offered the detail of a cold, cold salad plate and cold utensils. The lobster roll was stuffed with lobster and you would have to go to Maine to improve it. We loved the Key Lime Brulee.
Todo muy bueno
I brought an out of state guest so we could enjoy the view and a yummy dinner. While the view was beautiful the food was pretty disappointing. It was so bland and lacking flavor. I had the beets to start, which need some serious help. My friend enjoyed the steak fries. Those were delish. Both of our entrees were so disappointing. She had shrimp and grits, which consisted of 3 shrimp and bland flavorless grits. I had blackened wahoo which was very dry. We did not complain because our server was so great and we didn’t want to make a big deal. The key lime creme brûlée was delicious. So the fries and the dessert was all we really enjoyed. And the service. Danielle was her name and she was phenomenal. She made it enjoyable. However I would Only return for a drink and the view.
I am not a fan of eating with dog's (we did eat outside) where I have to deal with barking and hair flying when LARGE do shook. If you are going to allow dog's why not require them to sit a lower deck of patio, not where dinners are. This really impacted our dinner in what I considered fine dinning option.
My sister and I have been confronting some very stressful and difficult family events. We just needed to escape and have a fun afternoon.
We loved our waiter! He was awesome and so very nice and upbeat.
40th Wedding Anniversary and 65 th birthday
Excellent service and great food
The food, the waitstaff, the outdoor view was wonderful. We usually love to go from breakfast/lunch but this was dinner and did not disappoint.
We had an amazing experience. We showed up dressed way too casual for the ritz(as we did not know that’s where the restaurant was located) and they welcomed us warmly and gave us amazing service. The view is incredible and our server (can’t remember his name but he is from Hawaii) was wonderful. We will definitely be back soon.
Our fourth visit to Jack Dusty was the first that was disappointing. The "crispy calamari
appetizer was soggy - not at all crispy. The once great cioppino consisted of only a couple
of shrimp and small scallops. The rest was clams and mussels in a fairly bland broth.
Jack Dusty is amazing, as always! I’ve been a total of 5-6 times. The ambiance is great, food is amazing, the service is impeccable, etc. You must go, and it’s even better outside! Love, love, love it! Thank you!
Food was a bit too salty. Ask to put less salt when you are ordering. Almost all that we tried (there was 6 of us) was too salty and we all agreed on this. Shrimp and grits was not good. The service was excellent and the location is superb. I’d go there again but would ask less salt on everything and I would not get the shrimp and grits which didn’t even resemble the real thing.
