Great spot to grab a drink. The food underwhelmed this time around. Steak was over cooked, charcuterie board was uninspired and lacking, and the soup was not great or as advertised. Drinks were very good, and I have had great food here before, but this time around left a lot to be desired, especially for the price.
Always special to eat at the Ritz and my birthday lunch was great overall. Food was terrific but service was very slow and waiter was not at all friendly or welcoming…maybe because it was a Saturday? Or maybe they were understaffed?
The cocktails alone make this place worth the visit!
Garrett was the best waiter ever, attentive, fun stories, loved him. The smoked fish dip was fantastic, pure fish unlike other places that use a lot of cream for filler. The crackers I'd buy in a market for every day eating, too!
It was my fiancé’s 30th birthday and everyone made the day amazing and special. I requested a spot with the best view of the water they could give me and they delivered. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and we loved the live music. Thank you so much for helping me make his birthday special!
Certainly not what we expected with a restaurant associated with the Ritz.
Celebrated the morning after my bday here for brunch
While the service was perfect and the view is relaxing, the food falls to a distant third. Likely best left to tourists in a rush to feed the family.
Great food and atmosphere with excellent service
5 stars - Phenomenal!
Servers were very attentive, and prices reasonable for high quality food and service.
Beautiful view from the patio overlooking the marina for dinner.
Everything from the appetizer to dessert was delicious.
Highly recommend for a date night!
Excellent lunch with a gorgeous view. Will most certainly return.
Ask for John as your server, then have the best meal, and the best time!
Our server was great . Food was delicious.
We ordered hamburgers, which in the past have been excellent. Last night they were dry and tasteless. The hamburgers at the beach club are much better. Very disappointed
The restaurant is beautifully situated on the bay side. Wonderful views and just overall nice vibe. Meal was very nice but one person in the party had issues. Wish the manager would have asked about it. Pricey meal to have someone get ill.
Great restaurant with plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating and a vibrant bar scene with great craft cocktails.
Best cioppino in Sarasota and great crafted cocktails. Everything on the menu is good …. For seafood to steaks.
Food was great, service was even better! Would recommend for anyone staying at the ritz or looking for a fun restaurant in the area.
We had high hopes for a restaurant at the Ritz. My snapper was dry. My guy got a steak that came with a small with a large mushroom on the side (why?) and unseasoned fries. Took an hour for the food to arrive and I our waitress was not friendly or attentive. Better to go for a cocktail and appetizer.
18 year anniversary
Nice cozy atmosphere for our anniversary. Food was very good.
Had another great breakfast here. Eggs Benedict is great. The outdoor seating area is so nice and relaxing. Service is very good. They make breakfast a wonderful pleasure. Good Bloody Mary’s and Siren drinks, too.
Anniversary. Food was very good. Fish was a bit dry and slightly over cooked. Great service.
Wonderful food, as always! We always make sure that this is our first dinner upon arriving at the Sarasota Ritz Carlton! From the hostess to the bartenders, to our server Lyle, everything was perfect!
I cant wait to go back- the Grouper was fabulous! w We also loved the bread and rum butter- ALOT lol
We relocated here and were told you had a very good bar and menue ! They were right-
We will be back!
Had dinner with my family last night for my husband’s 45th birthday. Our experience was fantastic. We had the best waiter who went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I have food allergies and the chef took wonderful care of me. I was very pleased and was able to enjoy every bite. Thank you Jack Dusty’s and your wonderful staff for a great night.
Matt was an outstanding waiter. The food was indeed very good and delivered promptly. This was an excellent experience.
Jack Dusty has an identity problem-it can’t decide if it is A)”fine dining” or B)”seaside bar and food”. If it is A), it needs more servers and better service, and if it is B), it needs to drop the food and drink prices by 20%.
First, the sloppily dressed hostess tried to seat us in a back corner looking at the parking garage. She said it was her favorite table, leaving us to question her taste and judgement. She did move us after we told her it wouldn’t be our favorite.
Our server was fine when we saw her, but she clearly had too many tables. Our salad came instantly, while we were still drinking cocktails for what was to be a birthday dinner(no recognition from anyone-even tho it was on our dinner reservation request in 2 places.) our entrees took at least another hour, while people seated after us got their dinners. Server came by after about 50 minutes and seemed surprised we didn’t have food-no apology tho it was brought by someone else 5-10 minutes later.
The food was excellent and portions were generous. I had the cioppino, loaded with perfectly cooked seafood, and my husband had piles of delicious, smokey and mildly spicy shrimp on grits. Only criticism was the baguette served with my stew was way too oily-and it should be crispy instead of soggy.
We didn’t get dessert.
Great location, extremely loud. I am not sure I would go again because of said identity crisis.
Our host extraordinare was Jeremy. From the start he was brilliant, attentive & warm. All the food was delicious and the setting pool & Bayside is perfect! Can’t wait to return! 🦪🍤🐠🍸🍷
On the patio ... large, lovely, shaded, covered outdoor venue. Ceiling fans keep it pleasant even in hot weather. Waiters attentive without hovering. Food very fresh and tasty. Fries the best ever when they're super hot!
Went to Jack's for our 42nd anniversary because (a) it is a high-end bistro; (b) it is exactly 42 miles from our house. Special thanks to Lyle, our waiter who took very good care of us. The food was outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits, my wife had the whole fish. We were comped with a dessert plate, again excellent. I need to also compliment on the smoked bourbon cocktail. It is not often I spend $25.00 on a drink, but given the evening it was worth it. Jack's is a great place to have a casual drink or treat your significant other to a special dinner. THANKS!
I was hosting a birthday lunch for my cousin that I had reserved on Open Table. When I checked in, I reminded the hostess that I was expecting my guest. I was seated outside, my guest was seated inside despite checking with the hostess multiple times about my arrival. The hostess kept telling her that there was no reservation for anyone with that last name (and my name is an easy one.)
After 15 minutes I called my cousin on her cell, and told her I was outside.
This was an inauspicious start to a birthday lunch. The hostess never apologized. I stopped by the hostess station on my way out and told her I was disappointed. She responded “ I must have misunderstood.”
Perfectly executed food and service, consistently wonderful
Very poor service, definitely not on par with the expectations of a 5-star hotel restaurant. We had a reservation but had to wait 15 minutes for our table to be ready (and the place wasn’t full at all). They all seemed lost. We had to waive to the servers many times to get their attention. We got there at 11:15am on a Sunday and the brunch menu had ended (I have never seen that in any restaurant), we basically had to eat lunch menu at 11:15am on a Sunday, it doesn’t make any sense. The food was very average, ceviche was over cooked. I’ve eaten much better food for a third of the cost. At the end, I had to literally stand up and walk over to near the kitchen area to ask for the check because no one was around for 5-10 minutes. I would not have expected this type of service/food from a restaurant at the Ritz. I do not recommend it. The only good thing is the view.
Excellent waterfront view, delicious food, fabulous service. Highly recommend!
It was a wonderful way to spend Memorial Day - outdoor dining with friends.
Had a fantastic dinner with great ambiance. Will definitely return.
I was a little disappointed. Not too welcoming to start,
Table decor was below my expectations.
The appetizer: smoked fish was ok.
I ordered Sarasota cioppino for my mom and it was great
I ordered grouper I believe. Basically a small piece of dry fish over a can of black beans, and a scoop of rice with a spoon of guacamole, no taste at all.
The choices in general limited.
Also it is worth mentioning that I was asked if it was a a special occasion when I made my reservations on line
I put down Mother’s Day and it was not acknowledged at all
It may have sounded strange because it was May 26, but my mom came from Poland and this is when they celebrate Mother’s Day
Overall it was a real treat and I hope to go back very soon. I’ll be especially happy when the staff can be unmasked because I have hearing problems which are exasperated by the face coverings
The food is very good, although the selection is somewhat limited.
