Jack Binion's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Jack Binion’s was NOT OPEN (closed for renovations). They won’t be open until February 10. My husband and I made these reservations on 12/23/2017, and it was confirmed by Open Table on 2/2/2018. To say we are displeased is an understatement. Had we have known our reservation would not be available, we would not have made the trip to the Horseshoe Casino.
Food was superb....service was exceptional...so friendly, professional, and Courteous! Kudos to Kaitlin and her very attentive assistant...extraordinary continuous service...always kind and helpful...A special greeting to Ellen who has served us several times...she is great, too!
Lamb is one of my favorites, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS, SUCCULENT,. My friend had a SUCCULENT STEAK, WE shared. Also, the Creamed Spinach, Asparagus, um, um, good. Our Waiters, they both were on Target and Friendly, and attentive, and food looking as well...Our whole experience was COOKED toon PERFECTION, and we both were very well pleased, and will be returning in the near furture...Thank you!
Not impressed at all! Way too overpriced for very average food. Crackers and cheese were stale. I had the vegetarian pasta and it was tasteless. The salad was advertsed on the menu as said having candied walnuts or pecans (can't remember which), but they were not candied. We told them on our reservation form that we were celebrating a birthday, but no one made any recognition of that the entire evening. We had also requested a booth, but "all the booths were filled because they were very busy". The one and only good thing about our visit to Jack Binion's was that my husband ordered a steak, and he did say it was a good steak. But I would have expected that for the price we paid.
The atmosphere was very nice and I and my sister enjoyed a window view. The food was good and the server was excellent. The sauteed fish was not as I expected it to be. It was a bit dry. In past visits I truly enjoyed it and that was my reason for ordering it again.
Received a Diamond food coupon for this restaurant. Service was good and the waitress extremely pleasant.
Partner was pleased with his New York steak. Said it was cooked perfectly. I had the scallops and they were also done perfect.
Very pleased overall and would recommend.
I ordered the $62 lobster tail (that was a mini) and my friend ordered the $67 crab legs. Both arrived cold and had to be sent back. The baked potato was burned and over cooked. The second order was just OK. Now the $62 lobster tail was about 6 oz, itty bitty, tiny . They sell this lobster tail at whole foods for $7. Not worth $62. Two bites and it's done. The grilled cauliflower was a hit. Also sent back the cocktail that tasted like it was minus the booze. Yes, the manager was informed, but he defended the chef and and the waitress. He rounded up the bill to $100/ took $50 off. Maybe the steaks are better at the steak house. Seafood is a no, no.
We have eaten at Jack Binion's Steakhouse many many times, and maybe it was a bad night, but the food was noticeably poor and the service was very tentative and lacking confidence in their food preparation which equates to not a good meal. Live and learn, I should not have ordered the Special.
Our server was pleasant and attentive. We the 8oz and 12oz filet mignon which was outstanding. Sides included the Mac & cheese, mushrooms, asparagus and baked potato which were all delicious. We also tried a holiday sangria which was excellent. Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Dinner at this restaurant was not good. To start they brought all three appetizers out at the same time, Calamari, Oyster Rockefeller and salad. The calamari was room temperature, we sent it back; the oysters had way too much creamed spinach and just did not taste good at all, the salad was a salad... We split the Tomaho (I think that was the name) rib eye steak, it was decent but I would not order it again. We both agreed that Jack Binion did not measure up to the steak houses in downtown Chicago. The only thing that was good was the wait staff.
Jack Binion's Steakhouse is a great place to go for a special occasion meal. The service is outstanding. The food and drinks were extraordinary. Very friendly and engaging waitstaff. Our waitress Mary was extremely attentive and made excellent meal and drink suggestions. Please send her our thanks. The sangria she suggested was a big hit!
This restaurant is awesome, because you can have seating at the waterfront windows that overlook Lake Michigan, some can see all the way to the Chicago Skyline off the Lake.
My favorite though is at the bar, because I usually dine alone & I get the best service from Josie, who is an exceptional bartender, that always goes to the limit to make my dining experience
