Jack Binion's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at Jack Binion's Steakhouse many many times, and maybe it was a bad night, but the food was noticeably poor and the service was very tentative and lacking confidence in their food preparation which equates to not a good meal. Live and learn, I should not have ordered the Special.
Our server was pleasant and attentive. We the 8oz and 12oz filet mignon which was outstanding. Sides included the Mac & cheese, mushrooms, asparagus and baked potato which were all delicious. We also tried a holiday sangria which was excellent. Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Dinner at this restaurant was not good. To start they brought all three appetizers out at the same time, Calamari, Oyster Rockefeller and salad. The calamari was room temperature, we sent it back; the oysters had way too much creamed spinach and just did not taste good at all, the salad was a salad... We split the Tomaho (I think that was the name) rib eye steak, it was decent but I would not order it again. We both agreed that Jack Binion did not measure up to the steak houses in downtown Chicago. The only thing that was good was the wait staff.
Jack Binion's Steakhouse is a great place to go for a special occasion meal. The service is outstanding. The food and drinks were extraordinary. Very friendly and engaging waitstaff. Our waitress Mary was extremely attentive and made excellent meal and drink suggestions. Please send her our thanks. The sangria she suggested was a big hit!
This restaurant is awesome, because you can have seating at the waterfront windows that overlook Lake Michigan, some can see all the way to the Chicago Skyline off the Lake.
My favorite though is at the bar, because I usually dine alone & I get the best service from Josie, who is an exceptional bartender, that always goes to the limit to make my dining experience
My wife and I had a great time. We are diamond members and used our annual certificate to dine. The staff was friendly, the ambiance was great and the food was delicious. The view of the harbor and the lake was great. We would highly recommend Binion's steakhouse to our friends and family. It was a very enjoyable experience.
What a disappointment. I won’t draw this out but everything from a lack of signage in the casino to employees directing us the wrong way so we were late. This resulted in them not holding our reservation. We were going to a show there so we did need to stick to a schedule. They said we’d be seated and out 15 minutes after the showtime. Well that did not occur at all. We ordered very quick items like salad, shrimp, brussel sprouts, etc. IT TOOK FOREVER! We did not get our food until 30 minutes after the show had started!! It didn’t taste all that great, especially for the price Ana after the wait. We missed the first hour of the comedy show. They do not have enough wait staff and cooks on show night. I thought perhaps people hadn’t shown up to work. But they said this was the normal amount of people. I just don’t understand how they stay in business.
We’d been here before several years ago and had an excellent experience. We were nervous about all of the terrible reviews regarding service lately and decided to try our luck. The terrible reviews were spot on. Service was excruciatingly slow- 30 minutes for a round of drinks for 2 people, 30 minute wait for bread, 70+ minute wait for main course. The server’s explanation (Ryan) was that it was a show night and he was sorry that we chose to come on this particular evening (our Anniversary). Really??? Binion’s hasn’t gotten the hang of it yet? Lame excuse. The total experience was over 3 hours. The only saving grace was that we were given a gift certificate so we only had to kick in $60. We were not the only unhappy guests, people complained all around us and in the reatroom. Save your time and money and go to the city for a fine dining steak house. Never again!
The decor is stunning. The oversized burgundy booths are elegant and inviting. I love the Romantic Atmosphere.
Lauren assisted us with our menu selections. My fiance ordered a 16oz Rib Eye that was satisfying to say the least. And my 12oz Filet Mignon was seasoned to perfection, no enhancements required. To compliment the steaks we had mashed potatoes with carmalized onions and asparagus. I chose the vanilla cheese cake
for my birthday desert. Wow! What a Great Celebration!
We were using a Diamond reward so that make it very affordable. They over cooked the ribeye, the spinach salad was fine but just fine, the mashed potatoes were uninspired. We heard the staff apologize at every table for something. Not up to steakhouse standards. We would not go back unless we had another reward that had to be used.
Servers Maria and Carmen were great.
Our appetizers, Oyster Rockerfeller, was cold as hell. After a moment, we were given hot appetizers.
For our main course, our steaks appeared to have been pre cooked and cold, the asparagus and baked potatoe was cold, the perch w/ spinach was lukewarm and cold spinach. My best friends salmon and organic spinach was quality. That was unable to be resolved because we had a show to attend and was 30min late.
For the prices that are charged, food quality should be excellent.
I have dined there two times before. This was my first seating in the dining room. The waitress was great. I ordered the calamari as I have every other visit. However this time I was very disappointed. The size of the calamri pieces were very small. They were cooked perefectly and tasted great. I would love to enjoy them again the same way I did before.
Second trip to this restaurant, but not as good as the first. Food was good, but also plain. Also we felt very rushed. Salads arrived before we were done with the appetizer and main course arrived shortly after the salads. Was in and out within an hour which was highly unusual for us. They do have a wonderful view of the lake though. All in all the meal was just okay.
The food was very good. Service was lacking a bit, very polite, but she forgot our drinks more than once. And the fellow that brought the food forgot the ketchup and A-1 sauce I requested. which I like with the meal before it got cold, my fries did get cold before I received it on the second request. When you are paying that kind of money I should have to request things more than once ---they were very polite but they need to work on keeping the guests from waiting --I eat on a regular basis at Ruth Chris in Chicago and I can't think of a time that this happened there.
My husband and I had an early dinner as a Diamond Card Celebration. First time at the steakhouse. Food was delicious, service was great. We are not used to all the attention we received. Prices were a little steep for us to return. Hope to earn another dinner in the coming year. We would like to thank the Rewards Department for this great dinner.
