Jack Binion's - Horseshoe Casino - Southern Indiana Ratings and Reviews
Service was good. I believe her name was Christian. She didn't know much about the wine list but was friendly, so that makes up for it.
My 8 oz filet was EXTREMELY fatty and had a line of silver seam running through the entire steak, making it mostly inedible, which was disappointing. (My dog enjoyed it the take out.) Salads were pretty good, sides were good. Wine was great. Dessert (bananas foster) was amazing. I'll be back because I love this place, but if I receive a steak like this next time, it's going back.
Each time we have stayed at the Horseshoe we have eaten at Binion's and have never been disappointed. The service is always impeccable. Michael was our server and was fabulous. My husband's favorite is Steak Diane....it is scrumptious. The mixed drinks are great also.
I was turning 65 on the third and wanted to enjoy dinner on the second and third. We went on the second and ordered jumbo shrimp scampi. The only thing nice I can say about the dish was it came hot. It had NO taste at all bland. I believe no seasoning was used. I did not taste or see any parsley, shallots, garlic or lemon.
After eating there on the second I cancelled the reservation on my actual birthday. I did not want to be disappointed on my birthday.
Atmosphere is very nice. Hostess was extremely helpful and exceeded our expectations. Bar tender provided excellent drinks. Waitress was very prompt but did not get one of our dinner orders correct. Not all ordered food came to the table. Food was prepared absolutely perfect and tasted terrific. However, the dessert chef provided a creme brule that was the same as is served on the buffet at this location and was unacceptable. The waitress was very understanding and supplied a different dessert that was acceptable. Overall experience was only slightly less than previous visits have been. Will definitely be back as previous visits have been top notch and expect this one was abnormal.
I was not impressed first I think the waitress forgot our order as three tables were seated after us and all three tables received their meals before we received our meals. My first steak was so tough you could not cut it and even the waitress commented on it. Sent it back and they brought me a different cut and I ask for medium rare and when it came it had a cold center and was raw at this point I had eaten my salad and also the baked potato so I did not even eat the raw steak just didn't want to wait any longer my husband had finished eating at this point. I also noticed that three of the tables around us that at least on person at each table send something back so maybe your staff is not trained on how to cook steaks not sure if I would return or recommend to others
We c ame up with our friends to use our Diamond celebration certificate. We had filet mignon and prime rib with baked potatoes and the food was excellent. our server Michael was great as usual and yes we would recommend it it to friends and family for a delightful evening.
I have eaten here several times. Food is usually excellent. Unfortunately this trip my friend and I both ordered prime rib and it was very tough. They replaced it with a filet which was very good. Great service. It's a great place to usually get a super meal and be able to dress casual.
WE HAVE EATEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES
WE ORDER 3 RIB EYES BONELESS EACH ONE OF US HAD ISSUES WITH ARE STEAK
1. WE ORDERED THEM MEDIUM AND THEY WAS RARE
2. THE STEAKS WHERE SO TUFF WE COULD NOT CHEW THE MEAT JUST HORRIBLE
3 ARE WAITER WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL NEVER ONCE CAME BY TO ASK IF EVERTHING WAS OK WHICH I TTHOUGHT WAS KINDA ODD
Unfortunately, we did not have good experience from the outset at this restaurant.
Our waitress was either ill-prepared or just chose to treat us poorly throughout our evening. She was short with us when we had questions on the menu. Both the wine and one of the entrees were spilt at our table without apology.
When our entrees came, the steaks were served nearly well done when asked for medium-rare. The server was understanding and removed two entrees from the bill as it was already getting late in the evening and we didn’t want to wait to have them prepared again.
When it was time to settle up, the bill was literally dropped on our table. Management never came to speak to us or apologize for the poor experience. I would like to think this was a one-off experience, but the lack of accountability taken by both management and staff was completely unacceptable. When paying for a fine dining experience one would expect to be treated much better.
Casino comp $100 We had to cover tip and drinks in cash as Indiana law does not allow comp alcohol. Food was good not exceptional, waitress was good not great, hostess who seated us was a grump. They did provide a free bday dessert. I would eat there again if the meal was comped, but would not pay to eat there. Their prices are in line with most over priced steak houses, but they want $12 fee if you want to share an entree, seriously? We did enjoy our meal, but it was not anything special or memorable.
This is hands-down one of the best places in the state of Indiana to get a ribeye steak. JEN ROCKS!
They always start you off with a basket of sourdough bread that's slightly crusted on the outside with salt and real butter.
With a variety of wonderful salads, but hands-down my favorite is still the martini BLT salad. It's made with this buttermilk ranch chopped up Romain chopped up tomatoes and wonderful bits of applewood bacon. They shake it tableside in a martini shaker and then put it on the plate.
We had some wonderful chef samples, that were just little slivers of salmon and a beautiful sauce that was both sweet and salty and I'm fairly certain it may have had some sort of that bourbon undertone to it.
They brought us some raspberry sorbet as pallet cleansers with local raspberries. It's exactly the kind of thing that takes you into the next course after having something like a fish sampler.
Dinner was boneless ribeye and I chose for mine a loaded baked potato at medium well. Included was a garlic garnish that is grilled and they were so perfectly done that the garlic dripped out like little butter that melted on the steak.
The ribeyes themselves are so majestically done by the chef, with just the right amount of fat on it so that the meat and the fat literally melt you would nearly not need a fork. There are additional number of sauces you could have put on the steak that are just as wonderful but why ruin the most perfect steak?
The baked potatoes were wonderful. You could definitely tell it was real butter, real sour cream with huge chunks of applewood bacon and chives on them, absolute heaven!
They have an amazing amount of desserts to choose from. My hands down go to favorite are always either the blueberry lemon cheesecake or their creme brûlée vanilla custard which is what we had last night with chocolate dip strawberries.
Amazing location, amazing chef, amazing server, and an amazing menu equal perfection in my book.
When we arrive we can late by 25 min because it was so foggy, We had to drive slow the road is 2 lane also no cell service. When we did get to check in counter there was three people waiting. The check in person finally came she looked in her book she said we did not see our name our check in time was 630.pm it was 655.pm . I told her this when she became rude told us to step over to the side. Her name was Amanda She made my dinning experiencing very upset all night. The dinning room was half empty .I order the fried green tomatoes where cut 1/4 in so they did not cook . scalloped so small waiter agrees when back bought me 2 extra. lobster tough, over cooked. My guess where happy with the steaks .
I was seated next to the kitchen where every time the door opened I could see and smell the garbage I think they sit me there because I was an older women. The waitress never introduced herself or offered me a drink to start with. She ask to take my order then ask if I wanted any alcohol. I wasn't for sure if she was asking if I wanted a drink or something to rub on. The food was very good. The bus help was excellent.
Normally it is a leisurely dining environment not so this time. Our steaks came out the same time as our salads. Also, normally they allow you to sip your cocktail, then bring the salad, followed by some sorbet to cleanse your pallet, then the main meal. She gave us our salads, then within a couple of minutes brought the entrees. She commented about the dinners coming out sooner than she expected, but did not do anything about it. My potato was barely warm due to the fact the plate sat on my table while I finished my salad. The steak was tender in spots but tough in other areas. Both steaks were stringy. I ordered mine medium and it was well done. My husband ordered his rare and it was medium well. Neither of us ate much of the steak. The spinach salad was amazing. Enjoyed the wine and bread. We did not have dessert.
We got the worng food and what we did receive was steak and crab and the crab was over cooked and had a bad taste..
We did receive 100.00 dollars off but still wasn't worth the 70 dollars we paid. And was never asked for any refills nor did we see the waitress again until we received our bill
