We arrived for a lunch for 5 at 1pm, for my sisters birthday. My brother and his wife had already arrived and ordered a coffee, they were told they could only have decaf. Later it was revealed they had run out of coffee and wouldn’t be able to get anymore until Monday. Then after a long wait and the restaurant was not full, they took our orders. My brother and his wife ordered a $20 salad each, when the salads arrived some time later there was no chicken in the salad, another 15minute wait to add the chicken. Then my sister the birthday girl decided to order dessert, a cookie brownie thing. After a 10minute wait the waitress came back and said sorry they were out of that dessert and could she order something different. The waitress was pleasant there were obviously issues with the kitchen. Suffice to say we will not choose that location again. Very dissapointed as we had travelled in from the Niagara region.
Service and food both very good. Typical pub /grill fare on the menu. Tasty.
Always a good go-to.
Ran out of sweet potato fries. Strange but not a deal breaker.
Ran out of kids dessert cookie. Very strange but waiter was awesome and brought out a freshly baked cookie with a brownie baked into it.
My son was thrilled!
The service was good, the server was really nice and attentive. She did not refill our drinks though...
The price for the food was very expensive for a chain restaurant like Jack Astor's and the salads were overly dressed.
We were here before a movie and were looking for some high quality comfort food. We did not leave disappointed and shall be back again
Took forever to order and to get our meal. Lots of workers but to busy socializing.
It was a special occasion for our group of Mom's and Daughters excited to see The Nutcracker. Our table was excellent and ready when we arrived. The BEST part of our experience was by our Waiter and the outstanding service he provided. The food was great and arrived quickly (we were on a timeline and had no problem making our show). It is a great location and we will all be going back.
Great service great food.
Our server was great. He made it even a better experience
I like that they offer grain & rice bowls. The veggies are good, but the ahi tuna that they offer is not very fresh tasting. This item needs to be of the utmost quality so I think they should remove the tuna in these bowls and replace it with some other protein that is easier for them to serve fresh like shrimp, chicken or tofu. Or make it vegetarian and drop the price accordingly. Also, the extra bar seating that they added makes the bar area look clunky and crowded, even when it's not busy.
You just can't go wrong with Jack Astor's. The menu has something for everyone, even vegans! The service is always impeccable and it's just a great place to hang with friends and eat great food.
Perfect! We had exceptional service and we always do !
Only complaint was that there's a soggy fry inside my ranch dip and we didn't order any fries. No apologies offered, just replaced it. Also they wouldn't accommodate our group of 9 to the patio even though I said we are willing to wait up to an hour.
Service was slow
Order was mixed up
Food was ordinary
Charged for items not ordered
Overall unpleasant experience
My soup (their signature cheese n beer) was cold. It was replaced without issue however it took awhile to get the second bowl. I left a note regarding providing a desert to my colleague which was not seen or acted upon...I had to tell the waitress in front of my colleague and it should have been a surprise. But the server was excellent and once replaced the food was delicious.
Great evening on the patio! Noise level was perfect...the sound of summer fun. Great food as always too!!
The waitress took her time to continue coming back to us, but she was very nice and everything else was great. Definitely will continue coming back!
Our server (Eddie) was friendly and attentive. There was also a nice selection of beers. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. 5 of the 6 of us ordered burgers and when they arrived we found them to be very over-cooked (dry, grey, with almost crunchy exterior) and very tiny. We were not impressed and probably should have gone anywhere else for dinner.
Best experience at JA to date. Congrats!
The food was tasty but I was disappointed in the serving size. I had a shrimp fajita. There was a good amount of shrimp but they really cheated out on the vegetables. There was 4 or 5 slivers of pepper and about the same of onion. It's a pity that they did well with the flavour and the quantity of shrimp but skimped on the least expensive ingredient. When I told the waiter he shrugged his shoulders and said that he understood
